This is a reliable chain with tasty food and good service. After a long day with a lot of stress and driving, we needed a late supper. We hit here a bit after 8pm. The dining room was empty as everyone going in seemed to be getting take out. We ordered a burrito and large chips with three dips. My husband enjoyed the burrito and we split the chips. The chunky guacamole and flavorful queso hit the spot, and my husband mostly had the salsa.
We had dinner here while visiting the Kansas City area for the first time! We love tacos and this place hit the spot, the staff was so very friendly and helpful as it was our first time. Everything we delicious and well priced for the portion you are given. We will definitely stop again when we're back in KC. I love that they give a meal to kids in need with every purchase of a meal to Feed My Starving children, a nonprofit we're very familiar with. They are also closed on Sundays which is amazing!
Always a wonderful experience coming here! We don't have this chain where we live and always stop when in the KC area. The workers are always so super sweet and welcoming. They go above and beyond to make sure you have a delicious meal. Their queso and chips are huge. Great portions and quality all around. Love the mahi mahi taco if you want something lighter! The puffy tortillas make any taco better! We enjoy the outside dining area.

This is a clean, cutely decorated, modern, bright counter-service restaurant that gives you a reason to feel less guilty for indulging your taco obsession! Every entree item feeds a hungry child in a developing country. The service was outstanding from the moment we walked in and continued until we walked out--everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful. They have crushed ice (like Sonic) which is a little thing, but something I love. I ordered the Mango Habanero and the Korean BBQ tacos, my husband ordered the Steak and Blue (a seasonal option) and the Carnitas. They were all delicious. It reminded me a bit of Mission Taco *except* these were BIG tacos, not itty bitty things. My husband is a bit of a taco snob and usually prefers "authentic" tacos, but 2 bites in he said, "I'd come back here." I would have to agree, there wasn't a single thing that disappointed.
Tacos for Life is an interesting concept. I've been here a couple times now and it's been mixed results. Parking outside can be a wee bit cramped with Target on the other side of the parking lot, but wasn't awful either time I came in. Ordering is fairly easy and the menus are large enough to accommodate the relatively weak of eyesight. The food has come out fairly quickly both times and piping hot. The issue here is that both times, something in the order was missed. It happens, and neither time was it a disaster, but it is kind of odd. The food itself is fine to good, but it didn't really blow my socks off either. And the pricing is...a bit steep for what it is. I appreciate donating $ to good causes, but it's not something I generally want to do on top of already fairly high priced okay tacos. Maybe if you've got a coupon and hit the drive thru this is the ticket, but with so many other good taco/Mexican options reasonably close by, it's definitely going to come down to preference.
Visiting this restaurant for the second time in two months! During my last visit I tried their Fajita chicken burrito & Tacos (Carnitas, asada & Mahi Mahi). Loved everything about it. For this visit, I invited couple of my friends to join me. We ordered Fajita chicken burrito, Tacos (Mango habanero & Korean bbq steak) & Kids meal. They had some kind of charity going on for every kids meal we purchase they will feed a kid in need. Happy to support the noble cause! Mango habanero was good. I have never tried this one before. Quantity in kids meal was good & Kids meal was yum. Staffs are great, patient & helpful in both these visits. Beautiful & clean ambiance!
Went to Tacos 4 Life for a quick dinner after being in the area, and it was a great time to try a new thing! The service workers were very friendly and helpful since my partner and I were new to the restaurant! We walked in and got into the line (you order at the front and then get a number to take to your table!). When the food came, it was much more than expected! The tacos were super big and filled to the brim, and a large Guacamole was much more than me and my partner guessed it would be! Overall had a good time, and this is another great spot to try out loaded tacos, while also giving back to the community (for the tacos you order, they give food to local groups in need). Food was better than good maybe, but not great. I had their 2 tacos one side or dip--Hawaiian Shrimp one each grilled and fried and queso dip, nothing added. Overall the shrimp tacos were good--I don't think I'd order them again though. I preferred the grilled to the fried and got confirmation on the canned pineapple--not my favorite. Interesting adding the toasted coconut--fortunately there wasn't much of it. Personally, there was too much sauce and I'd prefer cabbage to iceberg lettuce, but as mentioned the food was still good. The chips for the queso were light, crispy and flavorful. Service at the beginning was great. No one really stopped by my table to ask me how things were going, but then again, I didn't need anything so it was fine. Plenty of seating, and probably a good place for groups of people.
I would give the Yelp experience, five stars; however, I would rate the restaurant and food for stars. This restaurant is great for families on the go with its with its casual dining and drive-through opportunity. I wouldn't want to take anyone here for a date, definitely lol I ordered two combo meals of two tacos and a side, - All tacos had corn tortillas, (tacos places soft corn tortillas) -- MANGO HABANERO -- BLACKENED MAHI-MAHI -- CHIPOTLE STEAK - Sides were, -- Cilantro Pesto Rice -- Black Beans My experience was positive but it isn't anything special to visit again unless I'm in a rush for decent tacos vs the fast food taco competitor or with loud kids.
Gonna have to break this one down. The Food was pretty good. I enjoyed a lot of the items that they had on the menu and attempted to sample quite a bit. This is one of the more upscale taco joints, but the reality is that it is a taco joint. And it is making the midwestern audience tacos. Nothing wrong with that... just know what they are about! The food and combinations of flavors were good. Not Great... but definitely good and better than a lot of other taco fast food style places. 4 stars. The Service - Fantastic and quick staff that attempted to help as much as they could, even though the place was slammed! They EARNED a substantial tip from me just for going above and beyond. The Staff here is doing it right! 5 Stars. The Ambiance - For a fast-foodish joint, they have done fairly well. It is still obvious that they have kept the personality from the building, as it may need to pivot and be a different type of restaurant soon (that is all construction and architecture these days). But, they did it up with nice, clean decor and didn't make the place look sterile! 4 Stars. Overall, I recommend giving this place a shot. They will get my repeat business when I am in that neighborhood.
Blue steak taco was very good, beef and cheese burrito was just short of Taco Bell's, Mexican creamed corn was good, cheesy chicken rice was ok. Wasn't bad wasn't good so it gets 3 stars. Ambiance is nice clean other than very sticky tables. Not much service, to be had, but no complaints on the guy that took our order.
First let's start with.....of course their tacos. One word, amazing! Fresh ingredients, interesting combinations, served fast. The service model not one of my favorite, order at the counter, they give you a number, and bring it out. This one was not bad. We were a bigger group and multiple people brought food out. It did not feel like our waiting around under a heat lamp in the back. One of the wow factors for me is that for items you buy they donate an item internationally to people that need food. One of the service staff explained to us in detail. He told us that this one of the main reason he works there! What a powerful mission and great food. I was introduced to this restaurant from a Yelp event and now my family and I try to find a reason to go out of our way to patronize it. It's definitely not close, a little bit of a drive (almost half an hour) but, it's so worth it! I've now visited three times and every time is almost better than the last. There are so many options for tacos here as well as combo meals, loaded fries, salads and other sharables. Truly, something on the menu for everyone. Also, the mission statement of this restaurant makes it even better than the savory, sensational food alone. They give back meals to the hungry with an emphasis on philanthropy. The employees inside the bright and cheery dining room are always so helpful, they really seem to love what they're doing and the work environment embodies the mission statement of the restaurant. I can tell the people working there take pride in what they do. Where do I start on the food...I've tried quite a few tacos on the menu and a lot of them are standouts. There are of course classic renditions of Tex-Mex tacos as well as new inventions, like a crab cake taco. I also have tried the steak and blue taco which wasn't my all time favorite but definitely had flavors that all worked together. Just to me the steak was a little chewy and tough but, I loved the additions of bacon and crumbled blue cheese, it was so hearty and creamy from the ranch sauce with a tad of heat from some jalapeño. The seafood tacos really shine for me and my palette, I really loved the snappy firecracker fried shrimp taco. This is definitely for the spicy sisters (and brothers) because it has an Asian inspired bang bang sauce as well as a peppery punchy sriracha sauce. Such a winner! Another winner in my opinion is the blackened mahi mahi taco with a creamy slaw and yum yum sauce which is just YUM! It's fresh and flavorful. The Korean steak taco has an interesting added crunch from a topping of fried wonton strips and an umami glaze on the steak. I prefer it to the steak and blue even though it's simpler in the number of ingredients. Who doesn't like a taco with fried pickles on top?! If you are with me and you are a pickle princess (or prince) and aren't afraid of a little spice then the buffalo chicken taco is for you. Another spicy option is the mango habanero grilled chicken taco, it may be the spiciest on the menu but the flavors pack a punch. The crispy cabbage and the creamy avocado cool down the mango habanero salsa and the crumbled salty cojita cheese topping is the most perfect finishing touch. Also, just a note, these are no small street tacos so, even though at first the price may seem shocking they are definitely filling. I barely finish three each time I dine and I leave very full and satisfied. Another favorite of mine has been the refried black beans that come with a Chipotle component that makes them unique. The guacamole is also fresh and limey, so good with a thin crispy salty chip dunked in. The queso isn't anything too special but who doesn't like ooey gooey melty cheese? read more

This is my first time at this location. It's a very nice restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. It's quite clean inside. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Especially when I said it was my initial visit to this restaurant. I order a two taco combo with refried black beans. I got the beef and fried chicken tacos. The beef taco was tasty. The fried chicken had a little honey that enhanced the flavor. Beans were a decent side. Overall pleased and plan on a return visit the next time I am in the area. read more
I first came for a yelp event, but craved it so much I had to come back. The Mahi Mahi Tacos are SO good, I dream about them. I got the 2 tacos, side, and drink combo and had the queso rice (with added salsa) along with two of the Mahi Mahi Tacos. You can't get good mahi easily here, so this is a great treat. Even better that a portion of your meals help feed others as well. Employees are always nice and helpful and place is clean. I will keep coming back! read more

The Tacos at Tacos 4 Life are nothing short of spectacular. Adding in their mission of donating a portion of the proceeds to feeding the less fortunate around the world simply adds to the reasons I intend to spend more money getting food here. The Mexican Creamed Corn was delicious as well, but I wasn't a big fan of the sopapillas; they were a bit generic. The only thing that prevented them from getting a perfect score is that I found the booth seats quite uncomfortable. The vibes in this spot are right and the staff is great, but the seating could use a bit of work. However, that won't stop me from visiting again for the great tacos! read more
Staff are so helpful and kind. Food is Fresh and there are so many choices to choose from. Sides are queso n chips and Mexican Creamed Corn. Coke products, sweet and unsweetened tea, and paradise punch are beverages to choose from. Very chique decorations inside the restaurant. Very clean. To go boxes and lids available without having to ask near the beverage machine. Overall great experience for a great cause. I love that for every meal purchased you are helping others who do not have food. read more
A lot of bang for your buck! The $15 2 tacos and dip combo was more than enough food for a single person. The Korean BBQ taco was my favorite. Great sauce and flavor and a huge taco. The combo meals come with a healthy portion of chips and queso which was unexpected. The queso was very good as well! My wife tried a quesadilla, and it was exploding with flavor even without the dipping sauce. The restaurant was clean and much nicer than I had anticipated. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. I also appreciate that they are mission driven and give back. 10/10! read more

Food is great. I would ask for the puffy flour tortilla shell and it really makes a difference. The tacos are so good as well as the burritos. The servers are super friendly and every taco you buy is a meal donated! The tables are spaced out so there is plenty of room to spread out. read more

Late night craving...This place stood out! The service was okay I wouldn't say it was grand however the food was good. We were looking for a quick bite while heading back to our hotel, but who wouldn't like a taco? This place had every taco you could imagine, I just wish the customer service matched. The fish taco was so delicious. The shrimp taco was plain, but seasoned well and my husband really enjoyed the Korean barbecue steak taco. I wouldn't give it five stars due to the mediocre customer service but it definitely gets four stars in my book. read more
Added 03.01.24: The young man (I wish I'd gotten his name) who served us today was amazing. I never saw anyone else working with him. He was polite and informative and even brought us a to-go container even though we could have easily gotten it ourselves from its location by the soda machine. He was also constantly cleaning, washing tables and sweeping, when he was not helping customers. So impressed! read more

Food 4/5: Two Taco Combo (Fried Chicken Tacos with Chips and Queso) * The tacos were delicious, juicy, and have great flavor. The savory chicken paired with the sweet honey is a good combination which surprised me. * The chips and queso were good. The chips had a great crunch and salted well. The queso paired well with the chips and served slightly below hot. Service 4/5 * After ordering your food, they provide you a number that you place on your table and they bring you your food which I appreciated it. * The worker at the register was nice and respectful. * After you are done eating, they will come and take your plates so you don't have to get up and bring it anywhere which was nice. Ambiance 4/5 * The setting was relaxing and calm. * There weren't many people in the establishment, and the talking volume was a relatively low. Overall 4/5. I enjoyed the food, atmosphere, and service. I would recommend coming to this location and having some good tacos. I will definitely be returning to order more food from their menu. read more

Staff seemed friendly, but since it was during lunch time I didn't get much help figuring out the menu and all the options. There are several different options to choose from. The concept is good with helping to provide a meal to poverty stricken countries. I do feel the price is a little high for what you get. read more

Tried out Tacos 4 Life a few months back while running errands. I utilized the drive-thru and ordered a Southwest Rice Bowl {black beans, roasted corn, avocado, pico de gallo, cheddar-jack cheese on cilantro pesto rice} but removed the cheese and added seared tofu. I ordered the full size, but the portion was quite generous, so I'll probably order the half-size next time. There's a helpful nutrition guide online that indicates which items have dairy, egg, gluten, and soy. Based on this, the seared tofu, guacamole, black beans, and cilantro pesto rice, seem to be vegan-friendly. I imagine a couple other items can be modified to be vegan by removing cheese, but otherwise the non-vegan options are fairly obvious. The nutrition guide also lists two other options that do not have dairy/egg, the "Tropical Bowl" and "Tropical Salad", but I'm not seeing that option on the actual menu (for the OP location at least). Overall, this is a solid option if you're in the area! read more

Delish!!! Definitely on the pricier side as fast food goes and I've always hated how individual tacos can get so expensive. That said, I was looking forward to it nonetheless. Tacos 4 Life? Sure It's got a catchy name, but do we really get tacos for life? With these tacos I could eat them pretty regularly, just not 4 life. But I would recommend that you stop by and give them a try, For $10 you get a taco, drink and chips and dip. They get pretty experimental with their tacos too. so don't think it's just going to be ground beef and salsa. they took time working on this menu. I'd probably go back next time I am in OP. read more
