The Birria tacos were excellent. I even talked my two picky teens into trying a taco. They went back to order more. Quick service at the register and tacos cooked while you wait. Fun atmosphere and soccer on the TV.

Stopped by again, this time for some birria. They were small, but delish! Definitely still worth a stop if in the area!

Lots of construction going on so it's hard to find a parking spot. Food was decent. Had good flavor and many different meat options to choose from. Menu is not a large variety of options. They also have Mexican treats and items to buy inside besides food.

Great varied Menu. Food made to order. Great ambiance and nice indoor & outdoor seating. A good selection of traditional pottery, party goods (candy) and an assortment of pinatas as well. The food is tasty, authentic and flavorful. A perfect day to enjoy the 5th outside.

Food was great! Took it to go and still was great. Service was great and pretty quick. Ambiance lacks but that's what comes with good Mexican food!

Stopped in for a quick lunch, and it hit the spot. Whenever I try a new taco spot I'm ordering the quesabirria tacos and the order of four I had here were yummy, not my favorite but not a disappointment either. The employee that took my order was friendly and the service was quick. Worth a visit if you're in the area.

If you're in the area you got to make a stop at this place! Everything was delicious. 10/10 We would definitely go back! We spent about $67 for a family of five with drinks. The salsa bar is amazing, the onions and radishes, fire! Avocado salsa and the green one fire! The employees were just a benefit they were sweet! The whole family enjoyed it!

Varied menu with meals and a'la carte. I got a number 1 with rice and beans which included a tostada, street ataco and tamale. A LOT of food for the money. You got a choice of meats and they have a TERRIFIC salsa/condiment bar. Tamale was lukewarm otherwise everything else was good!!! Friendly people...Would recommend

Tacos El Gallo has the best birria tacos that I've had in KC! There's a lil grocery shop inside with some fun snacks & mexican soda as well.

Finally made it to Tacos El Gallo! As with every place on Southwest Boulevard, street parking can get a bit competitive at busy times, but I was able to grab an angle parking spot right outside. Once inside, head around the corner to the counter to order. You pick up your tacos at the bar right inside the door. Don't forget to swing by the salsa bar for toppings and salsas! Fair warning, the avocado salsa is quite spicy so consider not drenching your tacos in it before you taste it! The salsa diabla that comes with the Birria tacos absolutely set fire to my mouth, so fair warning to those who don't like spicy food! The street tacos I tried (carne asada & pastor) were delicious! The birria tacos were tasty but not my favorite birria tacos in Kansas City. The tortillas got soggy very quickly, so eat quick. The service was quick and kind on a busy weekend night! Great vibes inside with plenty of seating inside and outside!

They have a large menu and a little convenience shop with lots of foods and other items to purchase. It's not fancy but the food is authentic and cooked fresh. The service was great.

I just took a swing at it, picked up a menu, and stood there. It took a while for somebody to acknowledge that I was there. The person who took my order was super involved, which is cool, but they needed some help, and the person who came by to help them seemed to be rather impatient, so that was one of the first things I noticed. They do bring your food out in a reasonable amount of time, delivered to your table. You have a number that attaches to a metal wand that they give to you. So the water station is set up in the back, you get your own water, but they were out of cups. They had a really cool aesthetic to it, with like the garage door where you can see all the downtown. The only problem was that the sun went down, and it started to get rather cold. Nobody ever closed the door, but I ordered the Asada fries. 3/5 heavy on the seasoning, but not so much on the flavor, it came across. It's kind of salty. I thought it would be different than what it was. The portion size was fine, and the green sauce that they offer you on the side really makes it better. Also ordered the CHORI queso dip lied on the chorizo for the portion size. The flavor was also a three out of five. The chip that they give you with it has a nice, good texture and reasonable seasoning. My wife had the mushroom Tinga tacos. She gave him four out of five. She really enjoyed them. The atmosphere is cool. The weights staff are really cool. I'd consider coming back on a Thursday. They have this cool thing that you can try new and upcoming dishes, and then they also have brunch, so I'm thinking about giving them a second shot. If you've never been, you should come and see what your opinion is, but really cool aesthetics and great views.

Ordering is usually at a kiosk or with a member of the staff. It's fast casual, so set expectations that way in terms of service. Kansas City has good tacos (all over KCK especially.) I'd classify these taxos as slightly upscale, but totally worth the extra cost. The quality, care and love from the team shows. The corn tortillas are hand made with a gorgeous masa made from organic corn. You can smell and taste the difference. I usually get 3 tacos and split a side of totopos and salsa molcajete. I usually get the Al Pastor, Pescado (fried fish) and Camaron Poblano (Shrimp). The Salsas also have a wonderful luck of spiciness. Anytime I'm near the Crossroads or Downtown and want a quick bite that satisfies, you'll find me here. Just look for the "Tacos" sign with a lit up arrow!

You're right in the KC Live space of the P&L and there are drinks aplenty, so drop in! The food is about it what you'd think, but not 'off the chain' or anything. The house salsa has a firm punch about it, and when riding atop a housemade tortilla chip, it mixes quite well. I highly recommend the Spicy Margarita which is not for the faint of heart but not so spicy that you're calling the fire brigade. Great lime base, solid tequila, and sliced jalapeños make for a refreshing and enjoyable cocktail. The Carne Asada Tacos are a good choice, maybe a touch light on the carne, however, but tasty. Pricing is what it is for the location. A couple could get in & out with a cocktail and dinner for around $60, so that's reasonable. Service is friendly and they turn things quickly, the food comes fresh & ready, and it seems to be well-run. It gets loud in here, so be prepared, but that's just KC Live.
