Delicious and affordable fish/shrimp tacos and friendly staff! Not much space inside and we were a large group of 13, so we just stood and ate outside. They bring your food out with just the meat on the tortilla, and all toppings and sauces are self-serve so you can pile things as high as you want. Their tacos are huge! I only ordered 2 thinking it would be a nice snack since we were heading straight to another taqueria right after, but I was stuffed afterwards and could only fit one more taco at the next place. Highly recommend stopping by if you like battered fish/shrimp tacos! I didn't get a chance to try it but they have ceviche as well.

I have visited this fish taco taqueria at least 4 times. It is a must when heading south of the border! These are absolutely the best fish tacos ever! You can order any item breaded or not and all fixin's are on the counter where you eat. Two types of salsas, green and red, chopped cabbage, marinated onions and mayonnaise are available to add at your pleasure. We usually sit at the main counter so we can chat with Alicia and her girls while they work. Everything is fresh and cooked to order. I had the fish taco and a ceviche tostada, used all the fixin's and washed it down with a bottle of coke. I hear their caldo de pescado (fish soup) is amazing as well, but since it was so hot out, I wasn't in the mood for soup. Another in my group ordered it and it was loaded with veggies and fish and was served piping hot. Sadly, this is one of those great places where you interact with everyone else in the small space as you eat and enjoy the ambiance, thus, not many photos were taken. That's a good thing though, no?

Shrimp on the left and fish on the right. Bomb!

Found this place, thanks to Yelp…read more We crossed over to droop off my parents and wanted a place that served food but that we could sit down and talk. We had a 15 minute wait before we were sat at our table. As soon as we sat down, we had coffee cups ready and regular coffee or Cafe de olla ready to be served. Our Server was amazing. He made sure we were comfortable, and asked if we had any questions on the menu. We ordered the queso fundido to start, chilaquiles and tamales everything was great! I can't wait to go back and try the lunch/dinner menu. The place was very busy but the place was filled with good vibes and great energy.

I had someone call from our hotel and we got right in and there was a line outside. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. It is all great. Their breakfast goes from American eggs and bacon with the best potatoes to wonderful burrito type breakfast items. Their menudo is great and they have great Mexican meats as well. Lunch and dinner is about the same. They make Mexican style fish and steak that is just perfect every time. All of their Mexican dishes are just wonderful. You can't go wrong. They even have bottled water--never drink the water there, just don't. They have the best rice and beans. The service is great. They make you feel right at home and even if you don't speak Spanish, most speak English and you will figure it out because they will help you. The prices are fair for what you get. At dinner I consider it fine dining. It is all good and you will be happy. The place is also clean and super comfortable.

If you are looking for a different type of place for breakfast in Tijuana, you will discover the…read morename, Marenca. The Zona Rio location has a small dining area, that is very popular with both the locals and visitors. It is easy to see why. Their menu does not over dose on the standard morning and afternoon items that you would find anyplace. However, this is the first restaurant I've been to in Tijuana, that does not have an English menu.... so I had to labor through the Spanish menu. But, they do have unique dishes, thus making the visit adventurous, because it is difficult to choose. I went back and forth, and finally settled for their 3-egg omelet with asparagus and sheep cheese. It came with refried beans, strings of carrots and beets, small fired up tostadas and fresh tortillas (both blue and yellow corn). A small side of soggy chilaquiles was also served. A small flavorful salsa tray is also provided with 3 options, ranging from mild to hot. The asparagus spears were thin, cut up into small pieces and sautéed with mild spices. The outer egg covering soft and not overdone. If anything, there was too much sheep cheese, in certain portions of the omelet. I say this because it was an asparagus omelet, and it, instead of the cheese, should have been the star. Still, it did not take away from the other commendable aspects of the complete entree and its accompaniments. Before the meal, a small refreshing fruit plate is served. Coffee and overall service here, was mucho excellente.
