We were visiting Chico for one night and found this place here on Yelp. I drove from our hotel and placed an order for to-go. They're menu is pretty extensive. We ended up getting a two taco plate, a taco salad, a tostada, and an order of chips and salsa. While I was waiting, I watched the making burritos and I realized maybe that would have been the thing to order. They were huge!! Pros: the rice and beans were delicious. The tostada and taco salad were delicious. Lettuce was fresh. Lots of chicken on them. The salsa is like a creamy green sauce and It was super tasty. Cons: the asada in the tacos was overly seasoned- very salty. The chips tasted old. The inside of the restaurant isn't much. It was pretty hot in there. There's a seating area with a half dozen or so tables. They have bottled and canned sodas, and fountain drinks. A few of the fountain drinks were out of order. Overall, if we were ever in the area again I'd eat here again and try a burrito! read more

I used to go here all the time when it was called Tacos de something and I was in college. I went back to Chico last week to see some old friends, and I've been craving their vegie especial burrito for weeks now. I was so excited when I found out that the menu was (as best I can tell) the same as it was back in the day. I got the vegie especial and while it's certainly more than when I was living in Chico, it's still quite reasonable and it's delicious. The vegetables are cooked just right and complement the rice and beans and tortilla so well. It's such a treat and I don't know why more Mexican restaurants don't do this. read more

After spending $27 on 6 quesabirrias, very disappointed on how small and skimpy tacos were. Tacos that small should be at least half the price. Not even a 5 inch tortilla used, for sure 3 inch. Food is great and worth the price. There is limited parking. But I love this place because it's open late as well.

My husband and I used to frequent this place back in the 1990's when it was called Tacos de Acapulco. Over the years, the name has changed but the menu is essentially the same - at least for the items we order. Still a great price for really tasty food. My kids just asked about going back there recently and we live in an area known for great Mexican food. Ah nostalgia... We ordered... Burrito especial...veggie burrito with stewed potatoes, onions, and carrots Burrito vegetariano...typical beans, rice, peppers, onion, cheese combo Quesadilla - with loads of a mozzarella style cheese Fries - crinkle cut 4 stars...All of the food was fresh, hot, generous and delicious. +1 star for the amazingly affordable price for students and travelers on a budget. So good!!! My parents have been coming here a long time. The salsas are all so tasty, especially the habanero! We had the burritos campechanos, they are big enough to share, the rice is so good and they have amazing flavor. The young ladies working the front were also so friendly and hospitable. I have heard alot of good things about this place from people around town so I figured I would check it out on a Friday night. I called in a Carnitas Cali Burrito and a Carnitas Chimichanga with no beans at 11pm. They substituted double rice for me instead for no extra charge which was cool. They told me 10 minutes and it would be ready; I waited a little bit longer than that to head over. I parked on the street and walked up to this little place across the street from all the bars. Upon entering, the line was to the door and all the tables were occupied. It was pretty small inside and you could see the cooks doin' their thing right in front of you. I waited which seemed like only a few seconds until I was up at the register telling them I was picking up for Michael. Paid a little over $28 but MAN WAS IT WORTH IT! The size of the Chimichanga was more than generous and came with a couple different salsa options. I'm always biased to the Verde type sauce and man they have a good one! It has a more of a creamy consistency which complimented the dish in my opinion. The burrito was sloppy but that just means it's extra packed with goodness. This is definitely not something you would want to eat while driving. It wasn't too spicy which was good because you could enjoy the full flavor of the burrito. This little restaurant seems like a go-to place for college kids after a night of drinking. The woman over the phone taking my order was super polite and had the same attitude in person which was appreciated. Thank you guys for the delicious late-night dinner!
