The building probably looks as sad from the outside as from the inside. I don't have a profound knowledge of architecture but I can definitely say that the TAFE SA building does not belong to the many design masterpiece venues in Adelaide.
However, since I study here, I do have something positive to say about the vibe inside those red brick walls. It's a mixture of multicultural and local, young and old and gives you the feeling that - no matter who you are or where you're from - you're welcome. I find that a lot of university buildings are scary when you first walk in, but this one isn't. You immediately feel comfortable in your surrounds.
Although it may strike you as a maze at the start, it is actually quite easy to find your way around and staff are generally very friendly and helpful.
It may not look pretty, but after all you're not going to frequent this place because of its looks. read more
