First ever impression wasn't good as the place looks a bit rough from the outside haha. But when you go inside it is nice and clean, albiet small. The quality of the food is terrific especially for the price. I would say its the cheapest Indian Restaurant in the west midlands, or at least one of the cheapest. I doubt any could beat the prices they charge there. And for the quality of the food its a must visit place for sure. Its not the type of place to go for a romantic meal. Rather a casual curry, like grab some beers from the shop next door, take em in and just relax. Never had a bad meal there and i have sampled probably 70% of the menu! Staff are friendly also, no problems there So really if its just a really cheap but quality curry you are after, then this place is a must visit. So after a little drive round Willenhall etc we stumbled on the unassuming Midnight around 8ish last Sat night. It was about three quarters full and we were seated straight away. There was a mix of customers on the night. The tables are very close so there are no private conversations and we did over hear a few expletives. There is nothing fancy in the decor but it is reassuringly clean and tidy. There is a decent choice on the menu with a few special dishes. There was a bit of a delay in taking our order and also in the arrival of our meals but it wasn't too bad. The poppadoms were nicely done and came with ample onion salad and dips. Just the one starter, a safe onion bhaji, a fraction dry but I may be being a bit picky. The sauce in both of our the main courses was different, it was good but slightly unusual and hard to describe; tasty, quite thick (almost gluey) sweetish sauce. The chicken tikka in both was very good and my Madras was certainly hot enough. Unfortunatley there wasn't much spinach in my wife's sag. No complaints with the fried rice, garlic & coriander nan or frozen chips. We hadn't room for a deserts so can't comment on them. Our young waiter didn't really know the menu but he and the staff were pleasant enough, perhaps could have been a little more engaging considering we were obviously first timers. So overall not bad at all and the bill was very reasonable, being helped by the Midnight not being licensed. Not quite Four Stars.

Although I am not a regular at Dhillon Sweet Centre, I have tried some of their sweets before and they were lovely. They certainly do offer a range of sweets and snacks. They also offer some Indian vegetarian food dishes which customers can take out. It is a clean place and the staff are very friendly towards customers. The prices are reasonable and the sweets and snacks on offer are not on the expensive side. Dhillon Sweet Centre also sell Asian newspapers and they are free as well. I would go back and for sure I would buy sweets and snacks from Dhillon Sweet Centre.

I arrived a little earlier than my fellow diners and sat on a comfy sofa by the entrance, clutching my bottles of beer. This is a bring your own booze restaurant (which really keeps the bill down). I recommend getting drinks from the excellent Stirchley Wines, which is just a short trot up the Pershore Road, and is full of excellent and unusual beers, wines and spirits. However, if you're feeling lazy there is a standard off license virtually next to the restaurant. Once my fellow guests arrived we were seated at a large table in one corner of the restaurant and served the traditional poppadoms and dips. The menus are crammed with loads of traditional dishes, plus a 'contemporary' section. If anything the menu is too big, and we all took a while to navigate it. After ordering, the food did take quite a while to arrive, perhaps because the restaurant had become much more busy. Our food all arrived at once, in a flurry of naan and sizzling hot dishes. I ordered a hot lamb dish (something, something Naga) from the contemporary dishes section, with a peshwari naan and fried rice. The curry was delicious, with chunks of really tender lamb in a hot but really flavourful sauce. The naan was light and sweet, filled with almond and drizzled in honey. Perfect combo. Two of our group went for vegetarian dishes, including the paneer cheese parcels, which looked great and, I'm told, were really tasty. Overall, I rate this place. Service can be a little slow but the food is really tasty and the prices are reasonable. Our bill was accompanied by white chocolate mice and gummy bears to sweeten the deal (although at £77 for 6 of us it was already pretty palatable). Retro sweet win.

It is more a Bengali restaurant so you will find dishes you may not be familiar with, but menu consists of many dishes from the whole Indian subcontinent. It's a bring your own restaurant which has certainly brought down the price per person when I have been in large group and split the bill. For my starter, I had the fried Fish which was soggy with oil, which I didn't enjoy so much. My main dish was a tamarind prawn dish which was very rich in sauce and taste, There is a vast section on the menu which has the curry houses speciality dishes, which come with pilau rice which made it very good value. Masalla Merchant is a nice restaurant in Stirchley which is very popular with the locals, and has been busy on both of my visits and worth a visit for sure.

First i was a bit worried due to the location and the way the row of shops looks from the outside, but was quickly pleasantly surprised inside. The guys working there were welcoming and happy to advise us on what will go with what for our dinner. If I was only judging the food quality and the price - a very decent meal for £15 a head- I would have given it a 5 star rating, I took one away as service was long (i don't mean once we ordered the food, but i'm just moaning a bit about the time we had to wait for the waiter to come back to get our order, for the bill to arrive, etc) and it wasn't very busy on that night. I see no reason why that should be the case. The staff at the Sweet Centre are very friendly and they do make you feel welcomed. Service = First Class, Sweets = First Class.
