You have got to try this course a second time in order to truly understand it's layout. The golf shop is a very good place to buy shirts, balls, and it is a ping custom fitting center. The only one in north western Wisconsin. The Golf Professional and his staff did everything they could to make our stay the best. They have wonderful cheeseburgers and they make great cocktails at a reasonable price.

Some sand, some water and some narrow fairways - but a fair course if you can hit your ball reasonably straight. Greens on some holes are tricky - but all but a couple are in great shape. I like to walk - but it is tough on this course because of the distance between some of the greens to the next tee box. So, unless you have time for a 5 hour round - probably best to take a cart. The green fees are a little pricey - but I normally only play this course on the weekends- so I assume they jack up the prices on the weekends to take advantage of the cabin owners. However, I enjoy the course enough to pay a little extra.

Very Good: Views of the greatest Great Lake of them all. True story: I saw a deer. I inadvertently scared some baby birds. And I singlehandedly rescued a turtle on the 15th hole.

I usually play in a little more than four hours and the course is easy to walk if that is your choice. The people who play the course are friendly and welcoming and the pro shop personnel do an excellent job. I think it is the best golf in Northwestern Wisconsin.

The back nine had a ton of elevation changes including a multi-tier fairway on one of the holes of the back nine. The forest makes it difficult to keep the fairways in absolutely pristine condition on a few of the holes and some of the bunkers could use a little love but overall I found the course to be in good condition. My family and I loved the scenery and variety of holes; a few easy ones for the kids... and then you face Hole 4 hahaha! The customer service was nothing short of excellent and Deanna Pierpont is pretty much the nicest lady I've ever met. You can't say you've experienced Mercer without trying Tahoe Lynx.
