Over four days, they repeatedly cleared the codes, test-drove the car, and rechecked the system. Eventually, they became fairly certain that the problem was related to rodents chewing on the wiring. Reluctantly, they suggested I take it to a Subaru dealership, as a dealership would have the sophisticated equipment needed to pinpoint the root cause. They hesitated to recommend this because they expected the dealership would charge me a ton of money for troubleshooting. Ward and Son's charged me less than $100 for all the troubleshooting they did over four days, which I think is very reasonable. Even though they weren't able to resolve the problem with my car, I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. P.S. They were super friendly people!

I was afraid I was going to have to leave my Toyota Highlander up there but they were able to replace a fuse for the OBD port, get a diagnosis and replace a bad ignition coil for one of the cylinders. Daniella was very pleasant to speak with on the phone. Grayson at the desk was also reassuring in dropping off the car to at least address the fuse to get an OBD diagnosis. Huge props for these guys for getting me in and out in a few hours during the in-between holiday period. I was able to drive car back to SF without issue.

I brought my vehicle to Auto & Tire Doctor in Truckee for an oil change and tire rotation…read more After the service was completed, I spoke with Daniel at the front desk and mentioned a concern about making sure the under-body panel used during the oil service had been properly secured. During that conversation, I happened to notice that my tires did not appear to have been rotated correctly. I had requested a tire rotation, and Daniel confirmed that it had been performed. However, upon inspecting the vehicle, I could see that the passenger-side tires had been swapped front-to-back while the driver-side tires had not. I was able to identify this because the tires on my vehicle have different tread patterns, making it easy to determine whether they had been moved. When I pointed this out, Daniel initially maintained that the tire rotation had been completed. After I showed him the difference between the passenger and driver sides, I was given several explanations regarding tire placement, vehicle handling, and concerns about the condition of my tires. None of those explanations addressed the fact that one side of the vehicle had clearly not been rotated. Eventually, another employee stepped in, acknowledged that the driver-side tires may have been missed, and immediately offered to bring the vehicle back into the shop to correct the issue. I appreciated that he took responsibility and worked to resolve the situation. My concern was not the mistake itself. Mistakes happen. What I found disappointing was the response when the issue was brought to Daniel's attention. Rather than simply acknowledging the possibility of an oversight and correcting it, I felt my concerns were dismissed and met with repeated explanations that did not address the actual problem. During the interaction, Daniel also made comments about wanting to "get this lady out of here" and referred to it being "Tuesday" while discussing the situation with staff. Whether intended that way or not, the comments came across as dismissive and unprofessional, particularly while I was trying to resolve a legitimate concern regarding work that had not been completed. The tire rotation charge was removed from my bill, and the work was ultimately completed correctly. I appreciate the employee who stepped in, acknowledged the issue, and resolved it. Based on this experience, I would encourage customers to verify that all requested services have been completed before leaving and to carefully review any work performed on their vehicle. Messed up my tire for the price of $200, highly recommend!! Went in there to get a sensor replaced and gave them the obd2 scan. Because of the sensor problem we had to pull a fuse to stop the problem temporarily. When we brought it in they asked us about which fuse we pulled because they weren't labeled, we told them about the diagram on the fuse box lid, they then told us there was a circuit problem, yes because a fuse was taken out, put it back in we told you where the fuse was tucked away. They then sent us a $2400 quote for brakes. Our brakes are fine. This car stops better than our other one. We told them that was not our problem and we wanted the sensor fixed. We were told our brakes were "cooked" and upon hearing this asked to see them to inspect for fraying, chipping and looking warped. The "cooked" brakes look like brakes that were dirty. Almost like they're in a car. We decided these people aren't competent enough to work on our vehicle and told them we would only pay for the diagnosis, which was $200. Over phone I told the front desk worker that we live on donner summit and leaving during a snow storm would be difficult and dangerous, regardless I had to grab it that day or I would be charged with $75 per day or towing. Upon picking it up we left the lot and only drove about like 2 or 3 miles before we were stopped by chain control saying our car was unsafe to drive, we questioned and he told us to investigate the front passenger tire. After pulling over in a gas station we realize that the tire is completely off the bead, completely unsealed. We called them and asked about it and they claimed "my guys never touched your tires", when before they showed us a picture of our brakes but now they never touched our tires. So either worker at the front knows nothing about his work or they showed us someone else's brakes and recommended us a full brake job. The AI chat bots at a bank are more helpful than this guy. They said they couldn't fix it that day but they can charge us for a tow truck. We refused and got a free tow from our insurance. This problem took 3 hours to fix, which involved a tow to Stone's Country Tire which fixed our tire problem for free and in 15 minutes rather than 3 days.

These guys are unapologetically expensive…read more I've had three negative experiences here in three visits, the first time they recommended a break service when it was unnecessary although they caught their mistake, but it cost me an extra day of leaving the vehicle there. The second time I took my Ford transit here and gas with siphoned from the vehicle while it was parked overnight. They had no response to this. Finally, I brought my wife's Tesla here today to repair a trunk latch and after paying a $275 diagnostic fee, they charged me $337 for 30 minutes of labor, Dean says it was because the technician is experienced and that is a fixed price. I would recommend going anywhere else if possible. They're the only certified Tesla shop in town, and they got the work done in a timely fashion, but as I pointed out, the prices are kind of ridiculous. They could've refunded me based on actual labor, like any other reasonable shop but instead I'm going to tell everyone I know to stay clear of this place..

They keep car until shop close - OK it happen 2. For 5 hours they claim to spend they was able only replace oil , coolant hoses and remove stone from breaks (source of sound) 3. They was not able to fix tire (???) and did not replace air filter because ordered wrong one. 4. Charged $800 for this work - well, may be But another shop I brought car to fix tire noticed low coolant level. Looks like they did not check/fill coolant after replaced hoses. It is MAJOR ISSUE. I risk overheating engine. And as a nice bonus, greasy spots on driver seat. No comments. Bottom line - stay away.

I have been taking our cars to this establishment for oil changes consistently for several years…read more They have always been able to get us in without an extremely long wait. Never gave us a reason to use the other oil change place across town. This all changed yesterday. As I drove to work after my vehicle's oil change I noticed a weird feeling on the left hand side of my steering wheel. I couldn't quite figure out what I was feeling until I got to my work's parking lot. I got out to find the leather of my steering wheel gashed up. Either cut by a tool or something clipped to an employee's belt. After I finished my work meeting, I called up the shop to let them know the leather of my steering wheel was damaged by who ever was in my vehicle. They told me to come down so they could see it. I immediately drove down to the shop and the front desk guy came out to look at my damaged wheel. After he checked it out he said that there was no way one of their employee's damaged my steering wheel as they are not allowed to bring tools into vehicles and proceeded to say that my steering wheel appeared "aged" and that I was basically a liar. I literally couldn't believe it. I drive this vehicle every single day, these gashes were not there when I dropped off my car at 8:00 AM. As soon as I drove away, I felt the damage on my steering wheel and knew something was off. I looked up what it costs to replace my steering wheel and it's $2,000. Oh! And later that evening, my husband went to inspect my vehicle and found that they either ripped off my wiper fluid cap or did not replace it. So now I'm driving around with a missing wiper fluid cap. I'd think twice before coming to this business. All I wanted was an oil change. Instead my steering got damaged, which will cost me thousands to replace, and got called a liar.
