The boat itself was clean and had all the toys (wakeboard, skis, tubes, etc) we needed for a fun day on the water with our kids. When we were done at the end of the day, he met us at the marina and took care of loading the boat on the trailer and putting it away. Overall it was a very smooth process and we would not hesitate to use him again for our Tahoe boat rentals.

The web site states exactly what will happen during the 4 hours and offers a phone number to call for questions. Parking and check in were easy and Captain Dan was ready for us. The boat was clean and well stocked with life jackets that fit for both adults and children (ages 8,6,4) as well as water bottles. Before leaving the dock we were offered water for a cooler which we didn't need but the offer was appreciated. Our 4 hours: 1. Safety information 2. Review of our preferences for the tour 3. Lots of history of the area as we toured 4. Emerald Bay & Mrs. Knights castle 5. Water tubing (first time for the grandkids) 6. Hang out time for a snack (we brought lots LOL) 7. I found Tahoe Waves website to be user friendly and answered most of my questions as a beginner renter. After I had a rental confirmation, I would still have lingering questions and their text service was real great to ask my inquiries. The responses were detailed and seemed to be an actual person on the other side of the text conversation and usually responded within an hour during their normal business hours. Due to a family emergency, we had to cancel our reservation, and was able to receive our money back minus booking fee (which was transparent at time of booking). My wife and I booked a sunset cruise on the Tahoe Gal the first part of August, 2026. We arrived…read moreearly and decided to check out the route to the boat dock when we noticed the ticket office open so we started to chat with the lady who worked there. A short time afterwards, we noticed a garden/trash cart being pushed along the trail to the boat dock and it was full of food and had 2-3 unwrapped rolls of bread on top exposed to the elements. We asked the question "Is that the food for the cruise?" Sure enough, it was. The lady then proceeded to place a large trash bag of ice on top the food and bread rolls. The lady stated that it was frozen, but regardless I think there are better ways of transporting food. And no, we did not eat anything on the menu. I was also shocked to find out that a small beer from the tap was $14.00, no notice of prices from what I could see. Anyway, I think the Tahoe Gal owners should invest in a large ice cooler with wheels to protect the food that they serve to guest. I was told they passed their health inspection, just wondering if the inspectors know how they transport the food. Overall, I think the trip was fair, could it have been better, of course. Will I do it again, nope.

We were able to adjust our group size up to the day of the reservation. 10/10 one of my favorite experiences in Tahoe :D They permit soft coolers, speakers, inflatables, and beverages/snacks (no glass or styrofoam) on the raft! On the day of, they assigned us two 6-person rafts for our group of 11. After we were equipped with life jackets and oars, they snapped a souvenir picture and sent us off. We were fortunately at the tail end of the rafting season, so the river was calm, and any rapids were mild, in the clearest water you could imagine. We were far from the only ones floating down the river, but there were several stretches where it was so peaceful it felt like we were on the water alone. It was never crowded, even at the swimming areas. I think the last weekend of August was the best time to come, when families and students are mostly back in school but the weather is still warm and the water is just right. At the end of the river, we were welcomed by enthusiastic staff at the dock who collected our raft and gear, and directed us to the shuttle stop where we took a quick bus ride back to the start.
