My family, boyfriend, and I hopped on a sailboat tour yesterday and had a fantastic time! We took off from the Tahoe City Marina and had the easiest check in possible at their office! Parking was also pretty easy to find for a Saturday in September! The sailing trip was two hours and absolutely amazing! The views were great, the weather was perfect and our sail was smooth because of our skilled captain! Drinks were flowing for the whole two hours and the white wines were great! Everything was nice and cold! Perfect for a refreshing sip under the sun! This trip couldn't have gone better, thank you to the crew and Tahoe Sailing Charters!

We had such a perfect afternoon sail with Tahoe Sailing Charters last Thursday! Our captain (Tim) and first mate (Matias) were both knowledgeable, friendly, attentive, and worked incredibly well together. Have a slight fear of boats - this did not happen with this sailboat charter. Smooth sailing around Lake Tahoe that passed close to one of Jeff Bezos homes. As avid sailors ourselves, (30+ years on Tahoe) b4 we sold or 35 ft Sabre from Maine, we were hoping for a little WIND, but clearly didn't get more than 3 knots. We went with friends yesterday afternoon on the 2:30-4:30pm sail, and it was just a magical experience! The weather was perfect, and although there wasn't a lot of wind on the first part of the sail as we headed down from Tahoe City towards Homewood area (southwest part of the lake), we got to see some great sights along the way. Tim, our friendly (and entertaining) captain, was skilled at the helm but was also an excellent tour guide. He had some great little historical details to provide us about some of the landmarks along the way. We were allowed to move over into the shady part of the boat when we got too hot, which was very nice and I was glad the boat had space for us all to do that and that the boat is designed not to tip over with the weight of that, which was something Tim clarified to me when I asked him. I felt safer in knowing this. ;-) Also, ship mate Phoebe served us free drinks (wine, beer, water & sodas) and was very friendly, upbeat, and attentive to our needs. On the way back up towards Tahoe City, the wind really picked up and Tim and Phoebe were total pros at navigating the sails and steering the boat. The teal blue water was absolutely gorgeous out on the lake and the views were breathtaking! We found the whole experience to be a festive, exciting, and relaxing day out! I highly recommend Tahoe Sailing Charters! read more

5 star experience. Captain Tim and Phoebe expertly guided us on a sail... it was lovely. The vibe was very chill (we ended up lounging in the sun on the deck) and although we only had a 6 knot breeze, they let us softly glide on the lake. Beautiful experience. Set sail with Tim & Phoebe on a gorgeous 75 degree day. there were about 14 of us. The crew were hospitable, engaging, informative and fun! I found Tahoe Waves website to be user friendly and answered most of my questions as a beginner renter. After I had a rental confirmation, I would still have lingering questions and their text service was real great to ask my inquiries. The responses were detailed and seemed to be an actual person on the other side of the text conversation and usually responded within an hour during their normal business hours. Due to a family emergency, we had to cancel our reservation, and was able to receive our money back minus booking fee (which was transparent at time of booking). Hoping to rent with Tahoe Waves at some time in the future!

We booked the 9:30am online. We arrived the next morning and accidentally went to the competitor next door (extremely similarly named) and were directed to the correct entrance. After parking and checking in they told us we had until 4pm to get off the river. Whoo hoo! We got our life jackets and paddles, jumped on the raft and began our 5 hour journey down the beautiful Truckee River. Most of the ride was very shallow, calm, and serene. We stopped and wadded/swam in the river a few times. There were some bumpy fast portions and my husband fell off during a fast rapid when we accidentally rammed into another raft that was stuck. He ended up hitch hiking into their raft since we couldn't stop ours. This is a very popular activity. Lots and lots of rafts as the day progressed. Bring water shoes as it is rocky. There are portable toilets every mile mark. Journey is approximately 4 miles long. Raft easily fit the 8 of us. Quick shuttle back to check in point. Highly recommend river rafting here. $72/adult $40/kids. Paying premium price for a very memorable experience.

This is a family owned/ran business and they take very good care of the courses! It's immaculate truly, we noticed the gentlemen hand painting touch-up's to the course. The castle option was fun for the whole family, would opt for this one again. I recommend a hat/sunscreen if it's summer weather, there is some shade during the course from the trees though. There's a lot of fun elements to the course, like the spider that lowers to try to block your shot. After the course we deposited our golf balls in the Last Hole slot machine (see picture) I thought that was a fun way to end the course (chance to win a free game). We then played some pinball and the kiddos enjoyed spending quarters in the toy capsule machines. They have an ATM and also a cash changer if you need quarters. BEST PART OF OUR TRIP! We recently returned home from a family rendezvous at Tahoe City. Enjoyed the beautiful scenery, quaint atmosphere of Tahoe City, and wonderful walking and biking paths. We spent an especially enjoyable afternoon/evening aboard the Tahoe Sailing Charters sailboat for the two-hour sunset cruise with Captain Tyler. This was just the right amount of time to take in the beautiful surroundings, enjoy drinks and refreshments, and interact with our fellow passengers. All of our "sailing" questions were answered in addition to Captain Tyler making it look so easy. It could be a little alarming that many of us probably thought we could get up the next morning and sail ourselves (until reality set in, that is!!). This was a most enjoyable experience!! read more

What fun! This was my first experience sailing and it was wonderful. Tim was a great Captain. He answered our many questions and I feel like I learned something about how sailing "works". Phoebe was First Mate (?) and was attentive to everyone aboard while simultaneously helping to manage the ropes and sails. We also lucked out with the weather. It was a warm, clear day with some wind, lots of sun, and a few snow-capped mountains remaining to enjoy. I have family visiting later this year and will absolutely be bringing them on this charter. This is a fantastic way to experience some of the beauty of Lake Tahoe. read more

I am now a full time resident living in Truckee. More often than not when we have friends visiting from outside the area we love to take them on a trip with Tahoe sailing Charters. It never does not deliver. The friendliness on the employees are genuine and the excursion is breathtaking, and effortless on our part. I highly recommend booking a trip sit back and take in the beauty of what Lake Tahoe has to offer.. My girlfriend and I booked an afternoon sailing and we could not have had a better time. The weather was great (could have used a little more wind at times) the captain and crew were wonderful, and Lake Tahoe was beautiful from this perspective of being on the lake. The captain really went above and beyond as he recovered a phone that fell in the water at the dock. Nine feet of water and it still worked!!! Would definitely book again. Our captains handled a situation with two ill-behaved drunken passengers trying to light up cigarettes on the boat by going back to shore and asking them to leave. Professionally handled by our captains to the pleasure of all the passengers! Took us back out sailing to make the trip enjoyable despite the interruption. Highly recommend. read more
