Instruction for the boat took about 10 min tops with a very chill and nice dude. One thing I appreciated was that they only count the time on the boat from when you pull away from the dock to when you return. Thus if it takes 30 min to check-in and load the boat, that doesn't count toward your time. Boat itself was super clean and performed flawlessly. The day was windy and we were warned multiple times but we went out anyway and had a great time. It took us about 1 hour and 10 min to boat down to Emerald Bay and maybe an hour heading back (going a bit faster) in case anyone is curious. My only one small negative with the Marina is that gas costs 2x what it does at the nearest station in town. My guess is that most marina's will bump this up but this seemed excessive. Gas for 3 hours of boating was $145. Still, all in, it was a great deal and WAY cheaper than some of the other places I've seen on Yelp. Will definitely be returning!

We booked a boat charter several weeks in advance. Communication was fine and the staff seemed…read morefriendly. That said, I'd encourage anyone considering this charter to know that the price they quote you isn't the full price -- they also require a captain's fee of $60/hour. Unfortunately, the day before our charter (end of June), a cold front came through. They called to let us know they'd had to cancel charters the day before due to weather, but that ours would still go on, just later in the day. With temperatures in the low 50s and the water even colder, we made the difficult decision to cancel -- it just wasn't safe or comfortable for kids to be in the water. That's when we learned our $500 deposit was non-refundable, and we might even still owe the captain's fees. I could understand keeping the deposit if it meant they lost the chance to book another charter that day -- but that wasn't the case. No boats were out on the lake due to the cold; everyone on shore was bundled up in sweatshirts and jackets. Honestly this experience left us feeling scammed. I would think twice before booking this charter in advance.
