I contacted the cruise line who said 'sorry no balconies'. As clostrophobic as I am the trip was cancelled. Janice not only got me a balcony, with an upgrade for the same price, but arranged airfair, insurance and a extrodinary hotel! Prior to the trip I received a very professional notebook with all the travel information. If I had questions they were answered within two hours (usually less). Janice is beyond professional. From the beginning Amanda has always been responsive to my inquiries, is very patient as I had 20 questions on the different tours and wanted to make sure it was the right one. She has great insights and gave fantastic recommendations. The final UK tour was fantastic, we had a great tour guide, very energetic and she made sure everyone knew where to go and knew where to be. She also made herself available 24/7. There were a lot of moving parts to this trip. And even though we were in a different time zone, Amanda made herself available for us when I had questions or if there was an unexpected schedule change. The first thing I noticed as I pulled into the parking lot in Edgewood Village (that's the name of the center) that it was a little difficult to find. There are multiple buildings and parking lots here, a rotary, and parking garage, so I didn't know where to go. I drove slowly, then realized there was a driver behind me, so I felt embarrassed. Finally I saw their sign and pulled into the parking lot on the left of the building. Parking is not apparent, as I wasn't sure if I should park in the garage across the way or the side parking lot. When I got there, I apparently entered the rear entrance, There was a directory, stairs, and an elevator with three floors. There were also restrooms in the Douglas County offices hallway on that level, and a decorative bear. I realized the Visitors Center was on the lower floor. As I later learned, there is another entrance, the main entrance, that is in US Route 50, but that is a busy route and there is no parking there. They might do this for pedestrians, but I can't imagine they get too many in that area. I wish they made the rear entrance the man entrance. I found the center downstairs and walked around. I was immediately greeted by the employee at the desk. She was professional. I told I was just looking around, and she went back to her computer. I took a lot of pictures. There were a ton of large plastic bear statues, displays about Nevada's gambling history, informational signs about Carson City and Virginia City, and tons of brochures and maps. There were also free stickers and postcards, and a number of places where you could sit down. But no free drinks like at Carson City. I asked for the password for the public wifi for "LTVA_PUBLIC" (Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority"), which my phone found, and the employee said that is only for guests attending meetings. A little deceptive I think, plus the employee seemed a little curt when she said that. I also asked if this was public, like Carson City's Visitors Bureau. She said this was private and non-profit. I concluded my visit my taking this picture of a huge pine cone on the front desk (see my pic). The employee said "isn't that huge?". I said yes. I asked if it was real, and she said yes. I didn't realize they got that big. An employee the other year said the Toyotas at CardinaleWay Toyota (as it was then called) in South Lake Tahoe were damaged from a pine cone storm, and now I see why. I will leave four stars, only because the parking/entrance issues, and the wifi.

He was rude and sarcastic when we told him we were looking to find the heavenly transit center, and that we were unsure as to our current location. He tried confusing us several times, almost poking fun at the fact we were from out of town. The only thing helpful he finally did provide us with was a map. We ended up personally calling a shuttle to come pick us up. For a visitor's center, this place was not friendly or helpful.

Super nice and easy stroll on a wooden bridge walkway along a creek with some pretty scenic views…read more -usually way better this time of year w/ Kokanee Salmon flooding the creek with shades of RED as they swim - not this year, water level to low. -bear sighting are very common when the fish are in (i can confirm- saw a family of bear 2 years ago - had a pack of BACON just in case - LOL).....J/K....... - Verdict: check this place out when heading up to South Lake Tahoe....it's cool....

We hiked Taylor Creek Trail with our two kids and a stroller, and it was a great, very easy walk…read moreoverall. The trail is mostly flat and well-maintained, making it totally stroller-friendly and perfect for families with little ones. We arrived around 10:30 AM and finished by 11:30 AM, so it's a nice, short hike that doesn't take up your whole day. Parking was easy, with plenty of spots available. We visited in July (summer), and the mosquitoes were intense, especially near the swampy areas definitely wear mosquito repellent. Also worth noting: the swamp area has a strong smell, so if you're sensitive to odors, that's something to be aware of. We'd recommend avoiding lingering near the water. Overall, a great, low-effort trail for families or anyone looking for a relaxed walk just come prepared for bugs and smells in the summer.
