During our tenancy, I raised what I believed were serious safety concerns on multiple occasions, but I felt they were dismissed without meaningful consideration. One concern was that the apartment had security bars bolted into the brick on the upstairs windows, which, in my opinion, could limit emergency escape options in the event of a fire by leaving only the front door as an exit. I also expressed concern that the upstairs windows did not have screens, creating what I believed was a potential fall risk for children. In both cases, I felt my concerns were brushed aside rather than addressed. Communication was another major issue. Whenever I reached out with questions or maintenance concerns, I found the responses to be condescending and abrasive, which made it difficult to resolve problems constructively. Overall, I came away feeling that tenant safety and well-being were not treated as priorities. Based on my personal experience, I would not choose to rent another property managed by Jaqueline Lescott.

I was in the market for a condo back in 2019 and was pre-approved through a local lender. Chris had a listing in Carson City but refused to show it to me. Although this is speculation, I think he wanted to somehow be involved in the loan as well as in the sale of the property. He turned pretty much every form of communication we had into an argument, and all I wanted was to see the property. Imagine if you had your home for sale and Chris was your listing agent, and he was refusing to show your property to potential buyers? Doesn't make much sense to me. Then again, I'm from southern CA and real estate agents down there have to be exceptional in order to survive. I don't think Chris would last very long as an agent in southern CA. But here in Carson City he obviously can get away with sub par communication skills, and outright refusals to show his client listings. Take your business elsewhere.

I wrote to Guy Johnson, who wrote a very thorough article on the subject, and he referred me to Rob & Dana. They happily negotiated with GMAC for me, found a buyer, and even helped bring the home up to FHA requirements after damage from a storm while the house was in escrow in order to keep the sale on track. Even though escrow got pushed back two months by the buyer's lender and the wait for repairs from the storm damage to the roof, they made sure everything was in order and kept me posted. From the start, they have broken every stereotype I've had about realtors (you know the kind - those with bad dye jobs, a pound of makeup, and/or tacky matching sweaters) in those free real estate magazines.
