I have used Jef for many years. When it started out, there would be three people at once. The last two years there's been one lady and she likes to bring her dog. Which is interesting because they ask that owners are out of the home and take our pets with us. We have a second home that is also a part time vacation rental and have used Tahoe Vacation Home Services as our cleaning service for several years now. Let me start by sharing we've had our home over 20 years, have used various services, and no service is perfect. But what has always set Jeff's business apart is responsiveness and dependability. Why am I just posting now? Because in the middle of a record breaking blizzard hitting Tahoe, we had renters checking out and another group coming in 2 days before Christmas. Earlier that day, Jeff's crew couldn't make it in due to unplowed streets and the arriving guests didn't feel comfortable entering an uncleaned house due to Covid. Jeff personally came to the house that night to clean and the guests were at least able to get in (although snowbound with no cable, electricity, etc). Jeff has been great in accommodating booking changes/last minute bookings and they always show up as scheduled. This blizzard has understandably crippled most businesses and services, but I sincerely appreciate that Jeff was able to miraculously help us out with a little luck from our brief driveway access. read more

Jeff totally saved me!!! I had a last minute booking on my condo in truckee and out of the 10 cleaners i called, Jeff was the one who called me back. Not only did he call me back but he was able to get a cleaner into the property and get it cleaned in time for the new guests. His quote was incredibly fair and he even went the extra mile to pick up a key from my property manager to access the "owners closet" for clean linens, supplies, etc. I did not get a chance to see the finished cleaning but I had received a call from the guest who had a question about something else and then mentioned the place looked great. We rented a home in Truckee that uses Tahoe Vacation Home Services. There was a miscommunication between Michelle and the owner of the house which meant that we ended up having to clean the house before we could start enjoying our stay, but once Michelle learned of the mix up she came to the rental property to explain what happened and offered to do anything we needed done. She also gave us a refund for the cleaning service we paid for plus money for the cleaning we did ourselves. I am very impressed with the professional way that disappointment was handled and recommend this service based on that experience alone! Nanny-cam proves that they over-bill terribly. Tahoe Home Services used to be a good, honest, cleaning-service that I used for years until Jeff took over the management. When Michelle ran it, my WiFi garage door opener and nanny-cam showed that they padded their hours a bit (like 20-30 minutes), but I said nothing because they were reliable, did a nice job and it was still reasonably priced. Then when Jeff took over the management, they suddenly billed me for almost twice as many hours as they had been billing me for years. I called to complain and Jeff said that's the normal number of hours to clean a house that size. I told him that it was almost double the number of hours that they (and every other maid service) had charged me for many years, and I told him that I knew that they over-billed the hours because my WiFi-garage-door-opener-log and my spy-cam recording proved it. Jeff reduced the bill appropriately but then the next time I tried to schedule a cleaning, he said that he wouldn't clean my house anymore. At first I didn't blame Tahoe Vacation Home Services management. I just thought that they had one dishonest maid whom they'd reprimand. But then later when Jeff refused to clean my house anymore, after years of me being a loyal customer, I realized that the new management is involved in the over-billing. They don't like to do business with you if you have a spy-cam and you can prove that they're over-billing you. They like doing business with people who aren't home at the time of the cleaning and who have no way of knowing how badly they over-bill. read more

She missed 2 appts we had set-up and did not call, she incorrectly invoiced me and I never received an apology for failing to show up for scheduled services or an adjustment or apology for the incorrect invoice. Jeff and his cleaner Suzie, have taken all my new charisma towels dark green and burgundy red and new set of charisma green sheets with 4 pillow cases, 2 ivory pillow cases and plus 2 white cotton reversible bath mats, 3 sets of striped towels, aqua hand and face towels, kitchen towels, Sharp Steamer microfiber pads on January 2 cleaning and have been using them in other people's homes since then. I have sent inventory lists of every missing item, all he has done is literally take pictures of MY items on other people's beds, bathrooms etc and ask if they're mine! But has not returned any of these items. Do not let them ever remove your stuff, they will steal it and use elsewhere! I have spent over $100. Just to have a second set to switch out. This has cost me days of lost rental use and time driving 9 hours round trip and another half day shopping to replace what they have taken. Plus they don't actually clean, have had them return in past to re do the whole place with me present. I kept giving them a second chance, now I've learned the hard way - It's not good business to not have a good reliable cleaner you can depend on. read more
