Our favourite Chinese restaurant on Brisbane northside and amongst the best I've been to anywhere in the western world. Angela and her husband have been running it for over 20 years and the quality remains superb. For a special occasion try the Peking duck where the whole duck is brought to the table and the skin carved off and served on small pancakes with hoisin sauce and spring onion, then the rest of the duck is taken to the kitchen and made into a delicious San Choy bow. On more normal visits the salt and pepper pork ribs are definitely worth having, as is the sizzling steak and the hot and sour soup - or in fact just about anything on the menu.
The service is also exceptional. Hot towels are provided to freshen up, and they are hot! At the end of the meal the ladies at the table are each presented with a single rose.
Try the crepes Suzette for dessert - I know they're not Chinese, but a great theatrical experience as they are prepared at your table, as are the liqueur coffees.
We have been going there regularly for over 10 years and have never found a better. Last visit we just asked Angela to decide the meal for us and she served us two delicious dishes that weren't on the menu, so we'll definitely be trying that again. read more
