I just spent $3,000 on professional training with someone in San Francisco with hardly any result. I searched and found That's My Dog and within 1 week I had done more than I ever thought I could do. Their DVD's are full of information that gets results immediately. TMD website has great videos as well. YouTube channel has more extensive training. I was able to get my girl to be off-leash in a national dog park within 1 week with perfect recall. Obedience training is a snap, learning new tasks at the rate of 2 per week. Highly recommended!

First of all it took 4+ hours = Ridiculous Second of all - Sierra the Groomer should be Fired Finally, the MOD was a complete moron. We have a 2 year old Havanese and we were explicit of how we did NOT want him cut too short. As you can you see from the photo, he is almost completely shaven and looks terrible My wife was in tears picking up our dog and when she escalated the displeasure to the manager he did NOTHING. They even claimed we got the upgraded package with better shampoo and nail trim. Too bad he had nails done at the vet two days ago. All in All a Total Sham. I have been training dogs for 20 years. I train everything from basic to service. I have a service…read moredog of my own (6 years old) for my own medical condition. For my own service dogs, I like utilizing other trainers as I believe it's in the dogs best interest to train around others (dogs as well as people). I took my old man to a trainer in Des Moines and wanted one closer to home for my newest trainee. She was rescued from an abusive breeder but has an amazing ability to forgive and drive to learn. She was about 3 months old when I brought her to the trainer. She already knew basics, but this trainer didn't want her trained the way I had been. That was fine. I'm not opposed to learning new training methods! However, there are things I COMPLETELY disagreed with when it comes to training service dogs. First, it was told to the group that it's better to allow people to pet your service dog rather than require they respect the space and roles of the service dog because "you will get sued". Another "training method" was having someone else's service dog come to you when called. This is a terrible method as the dog should be trained to only respond to the handler, not anyone in an environment who may call for it. None of the other dogs were kennel trained. Every single dog would bark or otherwise freak out in a kennel. Meanwhile, my 3 month old was calm and well behaved in her kennel. Not to mention, we were encouraged to take our not trained service dogs places only service dogs are allowed. This is against federal law as only trained service dogs are allowed in service dog only locations. To top everything off, prior to me attending, the owner/trainer had told others of my medical diagnosis which is not only against my privacy but also a huge violation when it comes to service trainer confidentiality. And final straw for me was when the owner/trainer asked to hold my puppy. Service dogs , even puppies training to be service dogs, should never be held as they are medical devices.

He walked thru the training technique and schedule, being sure to answer any questions or concerns we had. We scheduled three, full day trainings - spread over 3 weeks so that we would have practice time in between each lesson. We would drop Tilly off in the AM, pick her up in the afternoon. When we arrived back at the facility, my husband and I had an hour with the trainer and Tilly to walk through what they went over in the day. We also got a "Report Card" after each lesson that highlighted how it went. Super helpful. Brenna trained Tilly on the 1st and 3rd day and Jada trained Tilly on the 2nd day. Each were fantastic and couldn't have been more helpful and knowledgeable. They walked through the training collar process, commands and walking habits. They helped Tilly go from pulling on her harness to complete loose leash walking, how to get into her "Place", how to heal, and how to stay focused while around other distractions (dogs, cars, people, etc). Facilities were clean, well managed. Highly recommend Sit Means Sit, Brenna, Jada and Greg!
