Disappointing. Like most other reviewers who posted, I too was visiting the city. I had the best Indian food ever in a wonderful restaurant in Thunder Bay a couple days earlier.
This place could be better if they cared more about their guests. I had the buffet. It was probably fairly decent during lunch,, but clearly they were offering the exact same food 5 hours later for dinner. The daal was just sauce, all the lentils were gone. Same with the lamb vindaloo. The butter chicken was mushy because it had been reheated so often. The salad offerings were dreadful. It would be better to offer none than offer food that was old. I have no idea what the kebabs were like because the couple morsels of meat left in each bin were dried up hard and inedible. The naan was also dry and crunchy, not what naan is supposed to be.
The dinner buffet starts at 5. I was there at 6. Theres no way the food went that dry and was picked over that quickly considering there were only 3 tables with guests when I arrived.
In their favour, the food was clearly homemade, what I had was decently prepared and seasoned but having been prepared possibly 6 hours or more earlier or maybe even on a previous day it had lost its potential to please.
My plea to the chef and owners; show more care for your guests and offer only high quality freshly prepared dishes.
I did not complain when I was there. I don't like to put people on the spot. However, there were complaints from other customers that I witnessed.
Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this restaurant. read more
