I decided that this was a really good find. A nice extensive menu, good wine list, upmarket decor…read moreand a riverside location. Definitely classy. We were four in total, out exploring Colchester having arrived late afternoon without having had lunch; so naturally we wanted to eat early and there were lights on inside. Nothing ventured, we asked if they were open and we were promptly ushered inside with a smile. Boy, this place is big! It must get very busy of a weekend evening, but at this time of day we were the only people there, so naturally our server was extremely attentive and helpful; although he was quite insistent about trying to 'upsell' us on some things, like pushing for bottled water when all we wanted was a jug of tap water. But I guess that's par for the course. The menu is pretty extensive, with plenty of veggie and vegan options - although I felt that our server should have pointed out that they have separate menus for those. I went for a veggie Nasi Goreng with a side dish of sweet and sour aubergines (my least favourite vegetable - what was I thinking?). Portion size was very good and the food was great. I even liked the sweet and sour aubergine side plate! You will either love or hate the decor, with its full-size artificial cherry blossom trees and illuminated fluffy clouds. Bizarrely, it all seemed to work well together, although I was less convinced about the music, which seemed mostly to be some kind of pop/techno fusion thing. Overall, it came to around £30 each between the four of us, which wasn't too bad given that our bottle of wine was only slightly less than that. If you want a classy evening meal, you could do a lot worse.

Just got food from here delivered to my hotel (thanks Deliveroo!) and it arrived piping hot and…read moredelicious, and if not for the plastic containers it was just like being served right there in the restaurant. Example: my udon noodles came with a fried egg, they actually put the egg in its own little container to keep it intact, and it arrived with the yolk still runny, HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE? I'm so impressed. I polished off the edamame, simple but yum, wasn't a huge fan of the weird seaweed garden salad thing - it had a creamy sauce on it and a bunch of other things that weren't seaweed. I didn't realize it's like, literally a garden salad you'd get as a side, with seaweed on it plus some creamy sauce. I picked all the seaweed out to nom on, and the fresh avocado, didn't want the rest. On to the next on on to the next... Korean Bibimbap Seafood Udon. YUM. Big fat slurpable noodles - check. Tangy kimchi - check. Mixed seafood including mussels, prawns, fish cake - check. Aforementioned perfect fried egg dotted with seaweed - check. Veggies like carrots, courgette, mushrooms - check. Meal in a bowl! Filling, wonderful, and I have to say slurpable again because it was the slurpablest ever. Aside from the kimchi, the broth tasted like nice broth, but not like "omg this is so Korean and unusual," and it wasn't super spicy, however it was an incredibly well-assembled dish, everything fresh and perfectly texture. Totally addicting, I kept eating it even after I was full because I would leave no noodle untouched. Can't speak for what the restaurant is like, but delivery was super fast on a Tuesday night, and I can't even believe how hot and fresh the food arrived. This udon soup is the perfect cure for a rainy winter night, you should go get some right now.

Travel'd from Derby just for this restaurant and trust me it was absolutely worth it! Couldn't…read morerecommend this place more than anywhere else in Nottingham/Derby stop eating Wagamama and get yourself some real asian food from sushi to some of the nicest udon noodles i've ever had. Top things to try: Bento Boxes (Amazing for people who are new to asian cuisine but are willing to try things from sushi to curry dishes) Noodle Soups: I Personally love the Sake Gyu Niku Udon which is Sake marinated beef with thick, udon noodles in soya soup. ------------------ Service: Amazing but persistent i feel like the restaurant is a bit over staffed when it comes to servers and waiters due to the fact we had 3/5 people ask us if we are ready to order as the menu is rather large we took 10 minutes to decide and having people coming up and asking you constantly are you ready to order and stuff like that can make you feel pressured to hurry up and order but honestly they are some of the nicest servers you could ask for, ------------------ Problems: Calling your restaurant Pan Asia BBQ And not having the BBQ's working/available is a really off putting thing about returning it's the main reason i'm giving 4/5 traveling 50 minutes for this restaurant getting your hopes up and not having the whole experience isn't the best but i will return when they're working and ill update my review. ------------------ Short Summary: Amazing Asian food rather cheap, really good for people starting out with asian food or just wanting to experiment. Traveled quite far but was worth it only thing that let it down was the BBQ's not working.

I wanted to see if it would be worth going to pay full price for the food. I noticed that the gentleman who manned the shop was not particularly personable, which is understandable given that I was a TooGoodToGo customer. The food that he gave me did not look appetizing and it was really not that great. But the remarkable thing was that it did not give me that semi-icky feeling of Chinese (or any) takeaway food. It felt clean, did not give me any sense of guilt having eaten bad food. I go to Chinese restaurant quite often and this area of town is not for Chinese food so I never went into this one. But I think it is a good place, definitely no MSG as I did not feel dry in my mouth. I think I will try their noodles (and pay full price rather than the app price).

But hist! I hear you say , why unusual? Or not, perhaps. Well, two things - all mains are either noodle based, or come with rice, and second, they've differentiated by giving most mains a name in Cantonese( ? ) one suspects the first is a move to ensure smaller portions, and the second is just to mark themselves a cut above. As ever, I'm being a bit mean, but the food was not bad.

I looked on reddit and a few people gave some positive reviews on this restaurant. I guided my brother here and we were immediately impressed with the service and how comfortable the environment was when we entered. We ordered a few items to share and it was plenty between the two of us. We have some local favorite items from home that we tried out here, and this restaurant does each of these pieces exceptionally well. Highly recommend to anyone who is in the area looking for a restaurant in Chinatown. The cuisine is southeast Asian and each of these items on the menu tell you where the item is from. There are also pictures on the menu, but they do not do the food justice as the food came out so well prepared and complimented our day in London. I will be sharing with anyone who comes!

We ordered the wings, Singapore seafood noodles and the Mongolian beef. I do wish the dishes or waiter explained what ingredients went into the dish. I was not prepared for the sweetness or pineapples on my beef. My seafood dish had very little seafood and the wings were fine...the green tea was great. Lots of other great places to explore. If I return I Would try the Malaysian crab. The table next to me ordered that and it looked great!

Everything was so delicious, and there were several other dishes I would have loved to have tried. I wish I had taken pictures of more dishes, but they all looked so good that we all just dug right in! Our server highly recommended the shrimp bean curd dish, and I am so glad she did. That's not something I would've ordered on my own, but my husband & I agreed it was our favorite dish of the night. My daughter's favorite (and my 2nd favorite) was the wagyu beef puff. I also loved everything in the steamed dim sum platter. The only thing that was mildly disappointing was the softshell crab. Softshell crab is usually one of my favorites, but it was just sort of bland. But overall the food was amazing. I just wanted to keep trying more & more things, even though I was stuffed! And the service was incredible -- really could not have been better. As a wine nerd, I have to say I don't love their wine service. You can't order a full bottle, only 500 ml or less, which means you're never presented with the bottle, so (in theory) you're never really sure you're actually getting what you ordered or getting a bottle that wasn't opened days ago. That being said, I have no doubt that the wines we were served were correct and relatively freshly opened, but I still would've appreciated proper bottle service. (On the other hand, being forced to buy only 500 ml at a time meant we could try two wines instead of sticking with just one bottle.) The ambiance was lovely -- spacious, sleek, classy, modern, with gigantic aquariums. This restaurant will be at the top of my list to revisit next time I'm in London!
