Went to visit Dr. Takase for my skin problem on March. My last visit was about 3 years ago, so just found out from this time that Dr has passed away and a new doctor takes over the clinic. I was skeptical for the new doctor. But since they have my visit history, I put a hope if she can do something better. Waiting time is way too long which never happened when Dr. Takase was working. The clinic is even older than before and doesn't look cleaned. Finally had the new doctor came talked with me and she had no clue of dermatology. Ended up she prescribed the "same " medication as Dr. Takase did from my last visit. If they are the same medication, my symptoms should have been released. But the medications don't work at all on me. Plus I had a injection which contains steroids. It turned out my butt muscle had a bump for a week then now it turns out to be a dent. Found out because they didn't perform a proper injection also the type of steroids they used. This is didn't happen when Dr. Takase did it. I am so upset and never recommend anyone to visit this clinic ! read more

First and last time. This is by far the rudest I have been treated, whether at a clinic or otherwise. Half of what I was prescribed is not even relevant to what I came in for. Cough medication with no cough and mucinex with no chest congestion or sinus symptoms. Clinical examination was severaly lacking. It seems that the prescription was just filled out according to a generic script for URI (btw I had no URI symptoms) and signed. Great for moneymaking, bad for patient care. Don't do what I did and ignore the horrible reviews due to convience. Go somewhere else. read more

My only childhood doctor , when i first went there was with my mom I forgot what I had but it warranted going to the doctor and since I didn't have health insurance this office was by far the cheapest we could afford at the time , the visit was $40 and sure he could have come off as a mean guy but he genuinely cared for the people he treated and the people he worked with it was very sad when I heard the news about his passing , I rarely gave him a thought since I'm in the navy and stationed in San Diego but remember how he helped all of our family each of us at different times may god rest your soul Dr. Takase from what I know is that one of his wills was to sell the the clinic but also give the employees a job with the purchase of the clinic great man who thought of his employees in his last days of life. I felt the need to get tested bc I was exposed to someone who tested positive and began getting symptoms. I was looking for somewhere that would be quick and easy. This doctor's place of work was quick but charges $225 for a COVID test. They told me 3-4 days to get results but I got my results 6 days after. Do not go to this place. I even asked the nurse or whoever it was that tested me a couple of questions and she just said "I don't know" like what?? Find somewhere else that doesn't charge a bunch for a super delayed result. read more

I don't know if anyone will ever read this review, but I had the worst experience at this doctor's office. I went to Dr. Takase for a laser spot treatment on my face based on a referral. The moment I walked in I was already uneasy. The office was a little old and somewhat dirty. The nurses working behind the front desk weren't extremely friendly or inviting either. When Dr. Takase came out and called my name I went up to the front and stood behind him, expecting him to lead me to the room I was supposed to be in. Apparently, he had told me to go to Room 1, but I didn't hear him so I kept standing there. Then he yells and points "ROOM 1!" and a nurse also pokes her head out of the door and says I need to go to Room 1. First of all, if you are dealing with patients (they are considered customers as well), then the least you can do is turn around and talk to them face to face. Almost all doctors' visits I've been on, the nurses will lead you to the room you are supposed to be in, not someone yelling or pointing for you to go to a room. So I start going to the room and I hear him make a comment saying "I don't perform medical treatments outside." I'm already annoyed and want to leave. I proceed to the room and sit down. He comes in a few minutes later and starts taking my blood pressure and talks about this brand called Kanebo. I thought he was recommending this product to me so I asked him how does the ointment work and how long would I need to use it for in order for me to see results. He then responds in an annoyed tone "Wait, I'm not finished!" I'm kind of taken aback by his response and think to myself "Why the f*ck am I here?" So I let him continue and he was actually talking crap about the brand. The rest of the visit he recommends doing spot treatment instead of laser. At this point I don't even care and just wanted to leave. However, my mom insisted on asking him about laser treatment so she goes to the room while he is with another patient. I tried to stop her but she kept walking. She came back and said he yelled at her saying he was with another patient. Not surprised. Another weird thing about this place was that one of his other nurses who was in the room with us kept repeating everything he was saying and would say "Hai" (in Japanese it means "yes") with every other sentence he was saying. It was a waste of $40 for an office visit and I will be doing my own research for another doctor. LESSON LEARNED! read more

I just went to this place for my mom's allergies. We have insurance, but someone recommended this doctor to us, so we gave it a try. First impression about this place was not so great. The nurses were the only decent in their service and the only one that actually communicate with patients. They take cash or credit cards only...go figure. We went there for the first time back during winter and her prescriptions were not right for her. So this time a round, I asked the doctor while he exams my mom since she doesnt speak much english. This guy cuts me off and tell me not to talk. Then starts going on about the shot he gave in winter would not last till spring and all those crap. The nurse shushed me, so I just shut it till he leaves the room. When he came back in with the shot, he pointed to my face start going off on me about what he does and how busy he is. I couldnt hold it in anymore and talked back. I told him I didnt question his medical skills, I just want to ask for different meds for my mom. He said that "I have a procedure here, I'm very busy! I take care of 80-100 ppl a day, I have my assistants take care of the treatment." Um...how should I know that when no one explains anything. If it was me, I would LISTEN my patients then tell them to go to the front and the nurses will help instead of being a rude prick. A few words is not gonna cost him thousands of dollars. This goes on for about ten mins and he refuses to let me talk. And keeps on repeating his stupid procedures of how the office runs and dont forget, he's very busy. After the in-room argument, the nurse told us to go in the front and refuse to treat my mom. We were so mad but knew it was going to happen. But before we leave, we had to let everyone in the front knows what kind of doctor he is. He's "so busy helping the poor, and cares for his patients" (with $40 office visit + treatments), he gives the patients no respect or the time of day to hear them out. He's rude, egotistic, and looks like there's a giant stick stuck up his @**hole. All the nurses are too afraid to talk and of course, kept on saying yes in japanese to back him up. The only good thing that came out of this is that we got our money back. Never coming to this awful place again! This is by far, the worse experience I've ever had at a clinic. I pity all the nurses that are working for him; he talks to them like they're dirt. If this guy is the last doctor on earth, I wouldn't want to live on this planet anymore. read more

I went to see him with my mom. He didn't even take us into the exam room. He called us over to the register, read my form, and started writing a prescription right there. I'm supposed to pay to see this guy? My mom then asked a question about the safety of the medication he was prescribing, and his act words to my mother were, "Shut up. She's over 18, she's an adult, I can see her without you." I think he was trying to tell my mom that he doesn't have to answer her questions. HE IS SUCH AN ASS. I looked him up after this incident and found numerous sexual harrassment cases against this guy. Please find another affordable doctor in Houston. Please do not give this jerk any business. I went there for my left eye pain and redness on 07/11/17 and it was a complete failure. The doctor misdiagnosed my eye problem and prescribed the wrong drugs. I went to see the optometrist and after she examined my eyes for 20 minutes. She treated my eye problem right away. DO NOT GO TO DR T. It is a waste of your money and your time. I learned my mistake. If you "like" Dr House on the TV show, you will "like" Dr Takase. If you need bedside manners or a seemingly caring attitude about patients, then avoid this Doctor at all costs. Don't ask him how he is doing, if you believe in small talk dispel that here, he does not care. However, if you want a pretty quick accurate diagnosis, without all the bells and whistles, he is the Doctor to see. Personally, I like the quickness and the cost, today's visit cost $40.00, completed within 18 minutes, when compared with Clinics who charge mega dollars, while you wait for hours feeling bad, wishing you were in bed resting. read more

As far as my visit he diagnosed me with a throat infection and wrote me out a prescription for antibiotics. I approached him as he was writing it and asked if he could give me something generic (I'm a student) and one of the girls up front pretty much jumped across the front to answer my question. Why couldn't he just answer? I dont think he likes to communicate with his patients Anyways she told me its cheap 4$. When I got to the pharmacy it was 22$ no big deal I knew 4$ was too good to be true. I am feeling better so he did his job there is just something odd about the place. read more

Went for a skin condition and he gave me 1 shot and 3 medications. 1 month later still no results (in fact worst) and I come back to be told to continue medication for 4 months to see results if not to go see a skin doctor. Dr T is the best Doctor I have ever used. I'm in my 40's and I have insurance and will visit Dr T first. He is a board certified plastic surgeon and has saved me thousands of dollars on procedures and peace of mind. I trust him completely and be warned, if you doubt his diagnosis, you have insulted him. Dr T's no nonsense approach and light demeanor are a result of years of experience and expertise. I am not a Doctor, so I am not walking in there like I know anything. He's the expert and I'm paying to get his diagnosis. I have been going here for years and will continue to do so. Called today. Walk ins only. Asked the person on the phone if the doctor treats flu patients. She said the doctor does not treat flu patients because they don't have the flu test there and usually it is something else other than the flu. Since I didn't want to be given antibiotics or anything other than antivirals for something that is virus caused, I decided not to go. read more

Dr T is the best doctor I have ever met. I have been seeing him consistently for the past 15 years, and I HAVE ALWAYS HAD, AND STILL HAVE, INSURANCE. No other doctor will diagnose me and then perform treatment and even surgery, if needed, DURING THE SAME VISIT. No appointment needed, JUST SHOW UP. Dr T has been practicing medicine for over 40 years and it shows. Even on the busiest days, you get seen faster than anywhere, and you are seen by Dr T, NOT BY A PRACTITIONER. Any negative reviews are most certainly from people that think they know medicine, and fail to realize that you are PAYING FOR A DIAGNOSIS, so listen to the doctor! Dr T is hysterically funny, kind, and is especially patient and wonderful to children (he keeps a stock of little stuffed animals and fun little things for kids on hand to make them feel good and comfortable, so they don't get scared) Dr T has treated me successfully for years and I will always go and get his diagnosis, even if for a second opinion on something. His knowledge and experience is such to where his diagnosis happens so fast and accurately that it obviously confounds those leaving negative reviews of what a diagnosis is. Medicine is about the patient with Dr T, and getting you diagnosed, and on your way. Vilifying a doctor for loving his patients and saving them money (even in the form of time) is absurd. I feel sorry for those that publish negative reviews about Dr Takase. They are most certainly from those that just don't understand that they are in the presence of a real Doctor that is on the front line of health care. His priority is treating patients well, and accurately, SO YOU COME BACK, and refer his practice to your friends and families. Have fun sitting in waiting rooms, and exam rooms, for the afternoon, missing work, just to see a doctor for five minutes, while that doctor then sends you off to see another doctor that "specializes" in your ailment. I have had wonderful experiences with most doctors, but we are all human, and yes I have had bad experiences where I did not like the doctor, and I have even been misdiagnosed by doctors before, but not here. Seriously though, leaving negative posts about a DOCTOR that really cares about his patients is callous and sad. My mom had a visit with this guy today on referral from a friend and was so agitated after her visit that she insisted on having me post this negative review about him. After having to wait for an hour, the doctor only saw my mom for a hasty 3 minutes. The first thing he said to my mom was for her to uncross her legs and sit with both feet on the floor in order to "show respect to the doctor". I'm stunned that someone would be this rude that they would demand respect from their patients. I find this a lot easier to believe having read these other comments about him now. He ignored everything she wrote on the papers that were given to her and got testy with my mom when she said she had a question for him. My mom is not the kind of woman that would take this treatment from somebody, so on her way out, she told the nurses who were trying to give her some medicine to take it back. I was not happy with this doctor.He was nasty and mean. When you go to his office they ask you why you are there for and everybody can hear your business.They weight and take your high blood pressure and even your blood out in the open and everybody is looking at you.There is no privacy at all. The place is sketchy and dirty! The Dr. is rude and narcissistic, and I hope he goes out of business. My mom recommended him to me, because he only charges $40. The 1st time I actually went to his office was when I had strep throat, he didn't do the swab test to see if I tested positive for strep. This made me skeptical of his medical expertise. He prescribed penicillin (an antibiotic) and gave me hot tea. The only negative thing I observed from that visit was that he was EXTREMELY rude to his nurses, and I could tell they were afraid of him. Today was the 2nd time, and most likely the last time I'll ever go to his office. I went in, because my lymph nodes didn't seem to go down from the 1st time I visited him. I told him, they've been like this for the last 2 months and he told me to "shut up" and I'm a liar. I laughed in shock and told him, "so why do I feel swelling in my neck"? He told me that I am a liar again and that if I don't trust his medical advice to leave and go to another doctor. I took a deep breath to calm myself down, and told him to just check my throat. He told me I would have cancer or be dead if my lymph nodes had been swollen for 2 months. I then replied you didn't even do a swab test for strep last time, so I was worried it might have been something else. He kept on repeating the same crap and I told him to hurry up and check to see if anything is wrong. he checked my throat and said that I had some white patches and I just needed antibiotics. He said he was just trying to educate me, because he can tell I like to "exaggerate". I told him that teachers don't call students liars or tell them shut up. Then he told me he wouldn't expect me to understand, because I didn't go to med school. When I was going to the counter to pay he asked a nurse, "out of the 35 patients I've seen today, how many said their lymph nodes were swollen for 2 months"? and she replied "none". I then told him I don't care, why would I lie, so I could get high off antibiotics? A doctor should treat a patient with respect regardless. The nurse looked like she agreed, but she was too scared to say anything. All in all I wouldn't recommend anybody to go to his office, unless they did not have insurance. A doctor at a free clinic would not be as rude as this Kamikaze. read more
