This isn't just a place to fill up your tank; it's a genuinely pleasant pit stop that resets your travel mood. ​First, the cleanliness is always good. From the moment you pull up, the pump area is spotless--no overflowing bins or sticky residue, which is shockingly common elsewhere. More importantly, the restrooms are always clean. They clearly take hygiene seriously, which, for a traveler, or someone often taking road trips like myself, this is a huge sign of respect for their customers. ​The staff is for the most part has always been exceptional. Every employee I've encountered has been friendly, quick, and genuinely helpful. They engage with customers and seem to enjoy their jobs considering their friendliness. This makes my transactions fast and pleasant. ​Beyond the fuel (which is always priced competitively for the area), the amenities are top-notch. Their coffee bar is fantastic--freshly brewed, with a variety of syrups and creamers that rival a dedicated coffee shop. The selection of road trip snacks is vast, and they even carry a small selection of fresh, refrigerated sandwiches and fruit cups that are perfect for a quick, healthy lunch on the go. ​FiveStar is my default choice now as often as possible. It's consistent, clean, friendly, and efficient. It sets a standard for what a convenience store and fueling station should be. Highly recommend stopping here if you're in the area!

Bill had it ready to roll when I arrived and helped me get the cases to my van. The water was for the performer at the Bluegrass Hall of Fame and he just really likes this water in glass bottles. We need a few cases for the tour buses and very appreciative they had on hand. I wish I had time to explore the shop because it was top tier looking!! Great product and they have an in-house menu with lovely looking food items. I love these stores, I strongly support supporting these locally owned vs Whole Foods. Thanks again for the help!!

I've been living out this way 30+ years personally, and it's nice to have places around that make you childhood memories come to life, a place where the generational families, farmers, and residences can be found hanging out while grabbing a bite to eat. Fond memories of my husband and I grabbing a bite to eat with our best friend during the hay bailing season before moving some hay to the house from his farm while he would take a break from the tractor on those humid weeks before his passing. Our family has also stopped in for a quick meal, or snacks and drinks on our ATV or horseback riding rides many times in the past! It's nice to have something like this out our way, and it's close to Sandy Watkins Park! They offer a fairly large menu option as far as breakfast to lunch. Items like the the Breakfast Special, which consists of biscuits, gravy, sausage, and egg all mixed together, double cheeseburger, club sandwiches, grilled cheese, fish sandwiches, pimento cheese sandwiches, B.L.T, barbecue, hot wings, and even basket meals. Growing up in Louisville I had grown accustomed to our Downtown areas booming with quirky, locally-owned restaurants and businesses. After stumbling upon Nona's I began to feel a little more at ease about Owensboro's local scene. Nona's is the epitome of a local business. They strive to sell almost exclusively locally made products, and the owner is on the mission to serve her community as best she can and is so friendly. I really appreciate all Nona's stands for and love dropping by when I can to look at the locally crafted soaps, lotions, art work, and wide assortment of foods. Oh, and in addition to the cute store there is a juice bar and pottery painting business inside as well!
