Application was denied without reason and they refused to issue me a refund after many attempts

My husband, a southern cowboy, guns, horses, beer and Trump lover, died. He trained and thought me to protect myself. He made me promise that I will always have my revolver with me. I became a great shooter. SO.... I bought a revolver from this dishonest trashy store. I asked them to ship it to California, where my permanent residence was. THEY NEVER SHIPPED IT!!!!!!! I NEVER EVER RECEIVED IT! I kept on calling and contacting them in multiple ways. They NEVER showed any concern for a FIRE ARM UNDER MY NAME being lost. They ignored me, and they treated me like the true vulnerable widow that I am. They brushed me off and NEVER responded. THEY LITERALLY LAUGHT AT MY SITUATION WHEN WE SPOKE ON THE PHONE. I was homeless trying to figure my life out. Sleeping in my car. I was robbed and jumped twice, almost raped. Feeling unsafe and unprotected without the love of my life, and without my fire arm. Take Aim Guns made me cry many days, needing the money to eat! I used it to buy a revolver that I NEVER received. FINALLY, YESTERDAY, Valentines day 2024! (How sarcastic), I FILED AT SMALL CLAIMS COURT. I have all proof of their dishonest transaction. They will have to prove in court that they shipped it and that I received it. I am also suing for emotional distress and punitive damages. And I WILL EXPLODE THE NET MAKING SURE THAT EVERYBODY IN YHE ENTIRE WORLD KNOWS HOW DISHONEST, CARELESS, MEAN AND RUDE, TAKE AIM GUNS IS. They thought that I was gonna be a cry baby without knowing what to do. LOL, It took me awhile, but if I don't know what to do, I FIND OUT AND I DO IT! This is not the end. It is just the beginning. After I win the case I will make a police report. I also reported this disastrous horrible unprofessional mediocre unconsidered store, to BBB. I will keep on doing serious research, so I may keep on sharing my story with the community, and with the world. this is the 3rd gun i bought here over the last 20 years. I've brought a few in for scope mounts and minor smithing. they have a large selection of guns but the staff there is not very customer friendly. I brought a new customer today to buy and we bought 2 guns. the mgr Jack is not very friendly or is as least helpful as he can be. An old grumpy guy assisted but as far as personality - dead Zero who keeps and old used cigarette on his ear like he found it in the parking lot. they have a great selection, but in the future I'll buy online and use Britton's gun shop on Alt. 19 in tarpon as my FFL dealer of choice. Great friendly and family owned store that's part of Tarpon Springs. not a pleasurable experience and will not be back to TAKE AIM again. read more

God forbid life hits you hard after dropping $355.07 (with bank statement and a yellow copy receipt, which means they have the original receipt) on a pistol, you leave the city to tend to family emergency which takes you for a few years, only to move back and these guys will BS you, and pretend that you don't exist, and take your money and provide absolutes no product or way for me to finish my payment and acquire the pistol. Even with proof which they turned down even looking at. They seem to cater to a specific group of people. Please be careful of this liberal run gun store. They are corrupt, dishonorable, untrustworthy and continue to lie about it. All I can say is the snowball rolls down hill. Eventually they will answer for their schemes. Either by lawsuit and court order or God himself will deal with them which actually would be preferred. Never again will I send anyone or recommend this shop. In June of 2023 I offered to donate the items for a Battlefield Cross to an organization to show honor and remembrance to our fallen veterans. I had difficulty finding an inoperable military rifle for the display. Take Aim Guns & Safes had an antique junk English rifle they were going bro scrap. I purchased it for $100 plus another $87 to ship it to an FFL in Ohio. When I got to Ohio I had seven consecutive weeks of radiation (5 days per week) and chemotherapy (once per week). I finished my treatments in August. During my medical absence another member purchased an M1 replica for the memorial. I called Take Aim in September to cancel the deal. The person I talked to said I need to speak to the manager. I left my name and phone number. The manager has had six months to call me; but, of course, he hasn't. he hasn't called to at least refund the $87 shipping fee. read more

When I purchased my first firearm from this store my experience was not the greatest. They treat newbies like dummies and make them feel thar way. I ultimately finalized my purchase and the experience was "awkward" to say the least. To top it off, I was sold a used gun without being told it was used. My gun knowledge has grown exponentially since that purchase 6 weeks ago due to intensive study and classes and I only discovered that they sold me a used firearm today actually. If you're a new gun owner, read this. I've bought 2 firearms from this place and took my Concealed Carry class and the service is mostly "meh" but often tends towards terrible. 1 or 2 of the people that work there are mostly helpful, but generally, the employees are completely uninterested in helping you. If they don't have something they just say nope and move on, no suggestion to order it, or how you can get it. Trying to get information on a firearm is like pulling teeth. Asking them to help you make a choice isn't really going to happen. They almost don't care if you buy anything from them. I was looking for a possible hunting rifle after already purchasing from them 2 handguns, one compact and one fullsize (so about $900+) plus Ammo and other kit, I asked the guy about a $2,000 rifle, which I was intending to actually efffing buy, and the guy was such a *bleep* that I just shook my head in disgust and walked out. (it was pretty sweet though...scrollwork, lever-action...so pretty). I will never, ever, spend another penny in this store. I will literally go out of my way to NOT shop here. True, I am a "new" gun owner, so maybe I'm not hip to the style of gun shops, but I can't see how a business can run like this. Obviously, some people have had better experiences, and honestly, not all of my experiences were bad. Some were very good. But it's like a crapshoot when you walk into the store. Are you going to get someone who is helpful and knowledgeable, or are you going to get an a-hole who treats you like a n00b and just gives you deadpan one-word answers? Roll the dice. I have purchased 4 guns from Take Aim. I have three friends/neighbors who have also bought guns from them. I usually deal with Paul because I bought my first gun from him and he walked me through the entire purchase process, showed me how the gun is broken down and, the proper way to clean it. I have had 2 issues with guns (Both due to my ignorance and mistakes I made cleaning them) and on both occasions either Paul or Jack have assisted me in correcting my mistakes. An earlier post commented that "they treat newbies badly".... Not true. My wife went to them to purchase her first gun and was treated professionally and respectfully. After buying my revolver and asking to be delivered out of the state, I never got it. I am on the phone with Take Aim and their demeanor is unbelievably careless. I am asking for help to find my gun. They only show to be annoyed. I have to almost beg for help. I asked them to deal with the post office. I should not the one having to do so! I am not the sender. You are... I told them. After respectfully asking them for options, their best professional answer was: "I don't think so." I will never buy again from here. I do not recommend to walk in here. You might be treated like I was. Very bad. They only care about taking your money. After that, what happens with your merchandise, they do not care. Did a bit of searching online to find a fairly close gun store with a good selection to choose from. Went to Take Aim's website and liked what I saw. I can say that they have a very nice selection of handguns, rifles and shotguns with pretty much any needed accessory that you might require. The staff were friendly and professional and not at all hard sell. All of your questions will be answered but they allow you to roam freely looking at the gear without bothering you with a "Can I help you" question every 5 minutes. That I very much appreciated. They also, within their inventory, can hit just about any price point for the item you are looking for. I made a purchase, which went quite quickly actually, and know that I will be back for more. No comment on the safes as I was not looking at these but there were several there. read more

They will low ball you with listings from Gunbroker and other erroneous online platforms instead of using books which have been vetted through and had to undergo publishing. *Notice I'm not talking about one book in particular. Internet does NOT show value; it shows what bottom dollar of what someone took. That's NOT TRUE value just odds and ends of private listings. Friendly, non-intimidating employees and a well stocked showroom. I had been researching a purchase of a firearm on the Internet over the weekend and almost purchased the piece I was looking for online. I had a chance to check this shop as I was driving past and was very pleasantly surprised. I walked in, told the salesman my needs and he directed to 3 choices. One was the choice I had already decided on- but I wanted to see what he recommended to see if I was going to be "taken for a ride". Quite the opposite- he recommended the exact one I saw online- and it was $35 less than the LOWEST online price I could find and I was able to walk out with it in my hand! No waiting on UPS or FedEx. I also have helped a local business instead of some mail order shop in Timbuktu. They sold me the ammo, a custom grip and offered CCW training to my wife. Their instructor is female- really makes the women more comfortable. If anyone that is not a gun nut has experienced a real 'gung-ho" gun shop you know what I mean by "non-intimidating". After recently moving to Tarpon Springs I stumbled upon Take Aim gun store and was immediately impressed upon entry. While the outside doesn't tell you much, it is right next to a comedy club(Snappers) and as soon as you walk in the door you will find a very vast selection of firearms and accessories ranging from used revolvers to brand-new AR-15s! The staff is very knowledgeable and has always been quick to ask if I need assistance. I also would stress the joy in Take Aims ammo selection as it was extensive and even accommodated my need for 32 shorts. I recently purchased an AK 47 from the store and found it to be a hassle free, dare I say pleasant, experience. However the staff seems to think they are better then the customer. the store always has had what I needed, however customer service and a friendly atmosphere to me is just as important as being stuck with your product so going forward I have selected a different shop unfortunately will not be using this storehouse no longer. I have found a shop where they treat every customer as if they're important and take the time to realize the customer is what keeps your lights on. I ordered a Sig Sauer 516 Patrol from Take Aim on 11/13, and was told the delivery would take about a month. Two months later I was still calling, my frustration mounting by the day. I happened to be in the area one Saturday, and so stopped by to ask about the status of my order. As it happened, the rifle was delivered about a month earlier, but because I must have missed their calls to notify me of its arrival, it sat in the back of the store waiting for pickup. At the time, AR-15s in general and Sig 516s in particular were impossible to find anywhere. Demand was so high and supply was so low that Take Aim had actually stopped taking orders for 516s. Despite the tremendous value of 516 sitting in the back of the store, Take Aim honored its contract and held the 516 until the buyer appeared. Take Aim would have been well within its rights to assume that the buyer had vanished, and could have easily sold the 516 to any of the many customers clamoring for AR-15s. I can honestly say I have never been so impressed with a company's customer service in my life. Take Aim declined a lot of money to honor its contract with me, and for that it won my loyalty. In addition to the 516 anecdote, Take Aim has always been a great resource for firearms and ammunition. The staff members are knowledgeable, friendly, and take their trade seriously. What a disappointment! After purchasing 3 guns from Take Aim over the last 2 months, I assumed they have been around so long due to treating their customers well, was I ever wrong. One of my purchases I was unhappy with and returned to the shop 1 week later. Brought gun back in original box, packing, and even an extra magazine. Let them know immediately I had fired about 50 rounds and found the gun was of poor quality. I only asked they "help" and work with me to buy a higher quality gun. I paid $308 for the gun, and they offered me $100 trade?? OK, I realize it's now "used" but expected a fair deal to help satisfy my need for a new gun. Let's think this over...they made $ when I bought the gun, they would have made $ on the new gun. AND, could have given me a fair offer of even say $200 and still made $ w/ the extra magazine for the used gun. Greedy, I'll never be back. read more

I am going to use the word "PROFESSIONAL" and the staff at Take Aim are nothing but professional. The sales associate who helped me when I came in looking for a Kimber Micro 9 pistol was extremely helpful on answering my questions, professional to say the least and was no way using pressure tactics on trying to make a sale. I was also very impressed on how the sales floor was not cluttered and jammed packed with a crazy amount of merchandise and how it was inviting and pleasant to walk into such place. Prices are DEFINITLY competitive and a huge variety of firearms available to look at to make a well informed choice. I did not wind up taking home one of those AWESOME looking Kimber Micro 9's but found and purchased a Walther PPK/S .380 that I have been actively looking for now the past 4 years. What is even better was that I had called pretty much EVERY gun shop in Pinellas County looking for one EXCEPT Take Aim Guns And Safe and pretty much running into the same thing. "I am sorry but we don't have the PPK in stock" or some fashion of "Not having it available". Pretty much I was giving up looking for a PPK, and here I am looking at a totally different firearm when my eye spotted a used PPK/S in excellent looking condition in the glass case sitting there looking all pretty and nice telling me as if it was talking to me telepathically, "BUY ME...BUY ME!". After asking the sales associate who was working with me to look at the PPK and giving a good inspection of said PPK, there was no question about it, that PPK was not going to be passed up. Also there will be no question about it that I will be making future visits to this fine establishment to purchase additional firearms and increase my collection of such.
