Excellent, excellent food for an excellent price. I grabbed the sashimi bento box, which came with four sushi rolls, rice and your choice of meat, salad and some fish. Now I'm no expert in Japanese cuisine (i could hardly pronounce half the menu) but with nothing to compare this to, it was delightful, tasty and definitely worth the price. My friend got some sushi rolls. It was 8 rolls for $5. An excellent price. I have had a lot of sushi in the past, and this was fresh and delicious. A true treat. The waiter was friendly and polite and our food came out fairly quickly. I also enjoyed the decor of the restaurant - it felt open and inviting and had some great Japanese decorations. I will definitely stop by again if I am through the city. read more

I always order the tempura bento box. It has a huge amount of food for around $10. I can rarely finish my meal! The service is great. They are opened every day which is ideal as most sushi places seem to be closed on Sundays. read more

I only gave this place two stars because the person who gave me my take out was nice, and they were fast. The girl who took my order was clueless, she did not know what a dynamite roll was, and they do not even have them on their menu. I should have walked away at that point. I got the closest thing. An Ebi roll that has crab meat instead of avocado. She told me 10-15 minutes for the takeout to be ready. The rice was overcooked, sticky, and tasteless. So about half way through I decided to just eat the prawn tempura which was cold and soggy (I had only a five minute walk home...everywhere else has kept crisp if it was made to order) I hate to think what it would have tasted like had I waited the 10-15minutes the girl had suggested. The prawns were short, skinny and fishy. I also felt sick after eating it (I wouldn't have finished it but I was ravenous). Crab meat was laughable-a few strands of fake crab. Also, when I walked into the restaurant, multiple tables were uncleared and dirty. It was not by any means busy when I ordered at 8pm. read more

Food is great, probably the best japanese restaraunt in kelowna. I've been there many times -- but i'm not giving it 5 stars because I had abad experience there with service (they forgot about us then gave our food to another table). I still go back regularly. The miso soup is excellent -- and I dont normally like miso soup!! read more

I ate here for the first and last time tonight. While the food was delicious our servers clearly wanted to be elsewhere. We sat for a very long time and only got service when we pointed out we'd been sitting for a long period. The wait staff were rude and abrupt, smiles never crossing their faces. The bathroom was dirty, which caused me to wonder about the state of the kitchen. While in the bathroom all I could hear was horseplay and swearing coming from the kitchen. The floor on the way to the washroom was so greasy I almost slipped. I was very disappointed as the restaurant had been glowingly recommended. read more

I've eaten here several times with my family and always liked it. The food is fresh tasting and the service is good. We usually get spicy tuna rolls as well as other rolls with tempura in it. The Don Bury Beef is one of my favorites as well. Great place for a date as the settings are very nice. read more

Only ok. Rolls have way too much mayonnaise and needs seasoning. Tempura was soggy by the time we got it home.

I love taki. I go there all the time. The menu is solid and the food is always fresh and tasty. Super friendly staff and a nice lounge in the back makes it feel more like an uptown hang out then your regular sushi place. read more

The place looks like a dump outside. If they pulled the weeds and did some painting it would look so much better. The tables are too close together so you can't have any private conversations. It's not Japanese people making the food ... so it pales in comparison to Japanese made food. I only go there to get a sushi roll when I'm ravenous because it's in my neighborhood.
