Unfortunately, this time we weren't so lucky in that, they never know what phone models they're equipped to prepare and even if you called and said "can you fix my iphone 7" they gave you some "well, we get a shipment twice a week and we don't know what it contains" BS. We even said "well, can you order a screen for my phone?" but they said no. Fortunately we were heading to Middletown for lunch on a Saturday and we knew this place was very close to our restaurant of choice. We gave a call and the friendly guy said he absolutely could fix the phone in about 20 minutes, for far less than Staples. In and out in 20 minutes for $80. This will be our go-to place for phone repairs going forward.

I arrived a little after that, and my phone was repaired and ready the next day with no issues -- so my first experience was positive. Four months later, my screen started malfunctioning with no physical damage, which should have been covered under warranty. I scheduled an appointment online for Monday, drove 30 minutes, and when I arrived the store was closed, even though both the website and phone system still said they were open. There was no notice or update. I called the next day before driving there again and was met with attitude about them not notifying anyone they had been closed. When I arrived later that afternoon around 4:15pm to drop off my phone, the entrance still wasn't shoveled. I had to climb through snow just to get inside. The next day, I was charged $99 by my insurance because the claim was automatically changed from "warranty" to "accidental damage," even though the repair was not accidental. (This was done by the insurance company, not the store.) When I went to pick up my phone, I was told my SIM card tray was missing -- which was not true, as it was in the phone when I handed it over. It was inside an OtterBox-style case that snaps together, so it couldn't have just fallen out. The employee I originally gave the phone to claimed it was never there, while the employee helping me at pickup (who was much kinder) offered to order a replacement. I ended up ordering one myself because either way I would have had to wait two days -- but if the store ordered it, I would have had to drive 30 minutes back to pick it up. It made more sense to just pay the $6 and have it delivered to my house. That said, I want to give huge credit to the second employee who helped me with the insurance issue. He spent nearly an hour on the phone fighting with the insurance company, dealing with dropped calls and transfers, all while still helping other customers, just to make sure I wasn't wrongly charged. He didn't have to do that, and I truly appreciate him for going above and beyond. Because of him, my experience went from incredibly frustrating to being handled with genuine care and effort. I just wish the overall process, scheduling, and communication, was more consistent and professional.

I submitted a claim through the Verizon website late last night, and showed up as soon as they opened today. Sure enough, they had the claim pulled up and were ready to take my phone. It took less than 20 minutes and they had fixed my screen. The employees were great - very kind, they made conversation with all of the customers, were very honest about how long it would take and what would need to be done. I was very happy with the service and with the timeframe that they gave me. I normally get very stressed out when it comes to doing anything to my phone, especially when it's broken, but they assured me that it was a quick easy fix, and they absolutely delivered on that. I know this is a pretty simple task compared to what else they may be able to fix, but I was still extremely impressed. Although I bought a screen protector as soon as I left, it makes me very reassured to know that there is a great company who will be able to fix my phone if needed in the future.
