My son who is 12 has been getting his hair cut at Great Clips all his life, mainly for fades, but when he wanted a more modern cut (hardline combover) they butchered him every time, so I brought him here and these guys know what they're doing! I can't believe I never heard of this place! Ask for Miami, he did an amazing job and he's fast. DO NOT GO HERE!! I went here for a cut and the cut was bad but the worst part is the barber who was cutting my hair aka the owner of the shop thought it would be a good idea to shave my eyebrows I didn't ask for that or give him permission for that. he just took it upon himself and shaved them with his clippers with a guard on and left bald spots on my both my eyebrows. He did it so fast I had no time to react never ever have I had a barber do that I came for a hair cut not a eyebrow cut seriously wtf man why would you do that!! read more

Let's start off by saying first impressions are very important, and this business lacks in this category on so many levels. When you call the number to speak with someone, instead of a greeting such as "thank you for calling Talk of the Town, my name is **** how can I help you? " I hear "hello? " as if I'm calling a random personal phone; I had no clue if I got the right number at first. I then setup an appointment for 12:30 because the gentleman said "I don't know, anytime after 12". Then I get there at 12:32 because I couldn't locate the building. GPS said I was there, but the name was Vibez (not talk of the town). The guy never mentioned that part. When my son and I entered the suite, the guy who was scheduled to cut his hair was cutting someone else's hair. No problem, he had 30 minutes from 12 until my appointment. The part that bothered me was the girl said " He's busy. You can come back in 30-45 minutes ". Not an " I'm sorry, but he's running a little behind. Would you like to come back later?" Instead it was a demand, that warped into her cutting my sons hair. We've had plenty of women cut his hair and nobody does it like a man. This is no jab at her, but it wasn't what we were expecting. She did a good job, but not for a barber shop. She rushed the cut, didn't take enough time to really do what we wanted. We walked away with a hair cut that we could've gotten at Super Cuts. The only good thing about this was we needed a last minute cut and we got one. We will not be going back, nor will we recommend anyone that we know to give them a try. Dam...I've taken my boys here a few times and loved each experience. Has the same barber each time. he is a cool dude along with the owner. But my usual guy wasn't in at the time But this is one of those, "one bad apple can spoil a bunch". We went in today, 1/27/18, hoping to hook up my boy. He's getting a little fussy cuz of the long wait. A couple barbers finally free up and we're thinking "finally"! Only to our dismay, they both avoid eye contact with me and grab one guy that came in well after us and no apt. The other guy took the boy he was cutting's dad, so no biggie on that. I ask the guy how long till he can take my son. He states, "I don't take crying babies". Pissed me off knowing he won't cut my boys hair and the other chick straight up avoided me! I spoke with the owner, who was kind enough to offer up his services in 20 minutes before he took off, which I really appreciated. Went in this morning for a hair cut and the barber (who I found out later, sadly, was the owner) was about an hour late. Place opens at 8:30 he didn't get there til more like 9:30. I chose this place bc i just got out of work and was looking for a place that opened early so I can go home and get some sleep. Also bc I'm in the hunt for a new barber and this place ,surprisingly had ok reviews! so I decided to wait for the barber to get there. But wish I didn't!! Should have listened to my gut instinct. Dude got there an hour late and looked like he just Rolled out of bed. Eyes puffy and all. He cut my hair in 5 minutes tops. I had to smell his breath the entire time. I don't think he even brushed his teeth before coming to work. I paid him for the service bc I was tired after being up all night coming from work, and not wanting to deal with drama. but honestly he should have paid me for having to sit there dealing with this crap. Very cool barber shop. I received an excellent new style haircut !!! Fist time I had my hair cut this way. The barber who performed my cut had himself good style which put me more at ease when asking for this new cut. He was friendly and professional. I didn't give 5 stars because I believe the business could easily throw away the old warn out ripped couches and invest in some new couches. Also a new coat of paint with some baseboards, in my opinion, could go a long way in making the place more inviting. I also did not know that they only accept cash. I did not see a sign posted about this and was petty embarrassed to ask to leave my ID and then have to run to the bank to pull out come cash. I almost never carry cash. I believe this establishment has a great deal of potential !!! Again the atmosphere was youthful and fun. I would defiantly go back for another haircut. I liked the loud rap music that was playing. Honestly Judy does a great job but she can be very careless I literally sat for about 8 mins in the chair while she was on her phone. Into the cut she kept taking long pauses for a long period of time to continuously gossip with Fred... what should've been done in thirty mins or so took almost an hour... from all the gossip I learned that Fred loves his wife and three kids, but wanted to smash with someone else. Judy's baby daddy's sisters husband sent her flowers but she didn't tell anyone and she also got approved for low income housing in the new apartments with three bed rooms by the high school not the old apartments by Riverbank high school. Cristian did a great job and my son, who normally doesn't care for cuts said he liked it here and only wants to come back to Talk of the Town! My boys have been going to an old school barber for many years but were wanting something a little more modern. Although the barbers were very nice to my boys and myself, I felt a little uncomfortable with the choice of music playing. That would be my only reason not to give 5 stars. I walked in for the first time last weekend on a Saturday and of course the place was really busy but I only waited for a few minutes and Judy got me settled in and I got a great fade and beard trim. While waiting on a barber to open up I couldn't help but notice that these guys really take pride in their work, they are not trying to rush you out the door instead taking their time and making sure that your cut is 100%! My son and I decided to try a new place since our regular stylist was sick today. They said there was no wait when I called. I had to bring my young daughter with since my wife was still at work. When I arrived I could quickly tell that this place was not suitable for children. Definitely not for a young lady. There was unedited degrading music with terrible language playing in background. There was also construction going on and dust and debris falling on the seating area. There were barbers vaping in the shop and a dab pen going around amongst them. I realy couldn't belive it . The Barber who cut my son's hair was free and there were several people waiting for other barbers. I thought nothing of this because I make appointments for my stylist and often have to wait. My son has very nice feathery brown hair. I watched in horror as my son's hair was butchered. I requested a 3 on the side tapered down and to keep the top very long and feathery best part of my son's hair. I literally stopped the guy in the middle because he was doing such a poor job. He offered to try and fix it but told me he couldn't put any hair back. He also attempted to blame the poor cut on me due to lack of instruction. I didn't feel like arguing so I offered to pay but I no longer wanted him to touch my son's hair. He said I didn't have to pay but he still wanted to fix it. One side of his hair was very long but the other was butchered poor blend and uneven . We left right away. My son was very upset he even cried on the way home. He had been growing out his hair and was so sad about how rediculous his hair looked. I will never go there again nor do I recommend this place to any person with class. read more

Then barber gets upset because I did not specify weather or not I wanted the blade.Then asks me who cut my hair, because it looked bad. Basically insulting me. Then to top if off I get called a Hipster and he did not properly prep my face for the blade, and did not fully finish my beard. Was looking for a barber for the BF and found this place on yelp with some good reviews so we figured we would give it a shot. Pretty decent size shop with a lot of employees with their own barber station. The pictures posted gave us of an idea of how good they are. But unfortunately the guy that my bf had didnt really do a good job on his fade. Had to look at it and make him even it out. We arent regulars and we havent tried out any of the other barbers to favor one over the other. So I cant say they are the same. Each barber is different so we shall come here again and ask for someone else and see how he does. read more
