Overall: A good, casual campground with clean cabins and decent amenities…read more We recently stayed at Benner's Meadow Run Campground for the Labor Day weekend and had a good overall experience. We stayed in Turkey Cabin 1, which was clean and adequate for two adults and two children. The full-size refrigerator was a nice feature and gave us plenty of room for food and drinks. One thing to be aware of is that the cabin photos on the website can be a little misleading. They may give the impression that Turkey Cabin 1 has a separate bedroom, but the main bed is actually in the living area. Our friends stayed in the Grouse House, which did have a small separate bedroom. So, if having a separate bedroom is important to you, make sure you confirm the cabin layout before booking. The stairs leading to the loft are another thing worth mentioning. They have very shallow steps and a fairly aggressive incline and, in my opinion, are not built to normal building-code standards. Thankfully, we had no issues with our two 11-year-olds using them, but I would definitely be more cautious with younger children or anyone who has difficulty with stairs. The campground store was convenient, but I think it could be stocked with more basic necessities such as milk, butter and similar items. It did have many of the typical camping essentials, including items like batteries and other supplies, so it was still useful to have on site. We rented a golf cart, which was definitely worthwhile. The electric cart had surprisingly good power and handled the campground's stone roadways very well. It was a convenient way to get around the grounds. The pool was clean and well maintained. As someone who owns a pool, I pay attention to water quality, and the pool appeared to be fresh and properly maintained from a chemical-balance standpoint. The biggest disappointment for us was the fishing. We were there over Labor Day weekend, and the fishing was very, very slow. The larger lower lake appeared to have more activity and life than some of the other areas, but we saw very few fish being caught aside from a handful of bluegill. If fishing is going to be a major part of your camping trip, I would keep expectations modest. Overall, I would recommend Benner's Meadow Run Campground for people looking for a casual camping experience with clean grounds, decent amenities, golf-cart access and some activities over holiday weekends. It isn't a luxury camping experience, but it provides a comfortable enough setting for a family camping trip, especially if you go in knowing what to expect from the cabins and fishing. Last concern about the cabin was that the hot water lasted maybe 2 minutes. Dreadful. Use the shower houses if you require more time like most do.

Our trip was almost ruined when my husband realized he left our camper power cord at home but the camp host, Chad, was incredibly and was able to make it work with an extra cord he had on site They had such fun Labor Day activities and the kids loved the playground, putt putt, and riding bikes. We had the pleasure of staying at Eagle's Nest as organizers for our motorhome rally in May 2019…read more Paul was wonderful in helping plan the rally, and throughout the course of the event. We found all the staff at Eagle's Nest to be very pleasant, friendly and accommodating. We had about 15 rigs, and rented one cabin. Paul placed us in sites very near each other, and close to the pavilion which perfectly met our needs for the event. The pavilion near the creek, with electricity, lighting, a nearby restroom, and running water, was a great set-up for our group meetings and meals. Paul even set up a fire ring near the pavilion for our evening campfire and music. The camp facilities were very clean and level, with full services at each site. The restaurant on site (Fireside Inn) has an extensive menu. Try the cauliflower soup ... it is FABULOUS. Eagles Nest is conveniently located near Cumberland, MD - a great local tourism spot with museums, shops, restaurants, and a scenic railroad ride. The campground is still a work in progress and we look forward to going back to see how it is coming along. Paul has a great vision for further improvements and is working hard toward that end. With a mix of seasonal and transient residents, most in self-contained units, there is little need for public facilities. Some in our group might have preferred a public bathhouse (in future development plan), but the lack of a public bathhouse would not prevent our return. Happy trails ...

We had a great experience at Eagle's Nest September 2019, our 39th annual 'Rolling Thunder' rally. The camping, accommodations, food and entertainment were some of the best we have enjoyed. The campground is famous for its sold out annual Bluegrass festival yet it is gaining attention for its powwow events. It was very easy to find the campground. We went to the Five River Campgrounds for the Third Annual Powwow in Parsons in June 2025. It was the most meaningful pow wow I ever experienced. The owners of the campground (Joyce & John) gave the sales of the tickets to the powwow to the MMIW (Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women) Memorial Grove. The non profit organization is involved in promoting awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women. Some of the performers gave their earnings to MMIW Memorial Grove as well. The Five Rivers Campgrounds owners welcomed us with open arms and immediately noticed us as photographers. We do a lot of philanthropic work in photography yet we rarely get noticed or thanked by many people for it. The owners of the campground were selling tee shirts and stickers with our photography. We had given permission to have our photography used to the performer we have taken the photo of and we were happy to see that he & the owners of the campground were displaying our photography on tee shirts and stickers in the campground shop. The campgrounds are beautiful with views of the mountain. Immediately staff helped us park and alerted us of the speed limit on the campgrounds. The powwow was held outdoors and there was an open air arena with a roof to provide shade. The stage in the venue had a shelter and a good view. You had to provide your own seating, yet we knew that beforehand. The fee for the pow wow was $10 for two days, and we captured the most memorable and beautiful photos we ever took on those days of performers in regalia against green foliage and the mountains. The powwow was small yet the amazing camaraderie and performers were unforgettable. This was one of the finest powwow venues in ambiance, performance, connections, and professionalism we ever experienced.

This is located in the quiet, peaceful little town of Confluence. It's very close to amazing biking and hiking trails and kayaking, fishing, and rafting. The house we stayed in (their are several options) had 3 bedrooms with baths. The common rooms are spacious and gorgeously appointed. The decor is very tasteful Arts and Crafts period. The owner, Robin, is a potter, and you can see her pottery throughout and buy it too. The huge kitchen and dining room are available for your use. A full breakfast is provided. There are TVs in each room and the lounge area. It is IMMACULATE. All COVID precautions in place and we felt very safe. It is dog friendly which made a big difference to us. The charge is $20 per night. Our dog loved it Robin and Dan are lovely hosts and did everything to make us feel welcomed and comfortable. Super nice people. There's not a whole lot to do if you're not into nature here. Eating establishments limited although we did have a good meal at Rivers Edge restaurant. The hiking is excellent.

5 stars for the great and fun experience with the family, but 4 stars for the cabin we stayed in…read more Cabin - we stayed in Cabin 413. It has two bedrooms and each has two bunk beds. The size of the bunk beds were great! Mattress itself wasn't terrible, but wasn't comfy either (not a big deal at all). Each bedroom has one bathroom and shower. The sink is directly across from the bunk beds but the weird thing is that there used to be towel bar holders there - so no places to hang your wash clothes, hand towels etc. The kitchen is nice and has a gas stove, but this did not come with a stove light and fan. Another thing to note is that the deadbolt to the front door had no deadbolt - there was no bolt hub or bolt extension it was honestly the bolt face plate and thumb turn. Good thing the door knob locked with no issues The water park has 4 slides, a pirate water park, 2 pools(one pool had 2 basketball hoops) and arcade. Honestly I wouldn't waste the money in the arcade, but the water park and pools were great! The pool and water park were open from 1100-1900, we got there right when it opened and managed to have 4 lounge pool chairs. Definitely get there when it opens because as it gets later in the day it fills up quick! There were people laying in the grass because all the seats and tables were taken. The food was excellent! We got 20 wings, cheesesteak, grilled cheese, BLT, fries all around $40. The remainder of the time we spent there we cooked our food in the cabin kitchen and outdoor grill. I would recommend renting a golf cart. It's just easier to get around. We took the golf cart to a tractor ride, the playground right near the gate, mini golf, the ice cream shop, and overall was fun to just drive around and explore the campground. This was honestly the perfect small close getaway before the kids went back to school. Definitely enjoyed our stay here and will be back in the future - was heartbroken to see the damage that jellystone had due to the storm.
