My wife and I have stayed here 3 years in a row and we absolutely love the area, lots of trails for hiking, a near by Golf Course at Canaan Valley Resort, Seneca Rocks are close by for day time activities. The towns of Davis and Thomas are also close by with tons of good shops, breweries, and restaurants. We absolutely love this part of the country. The cabins have everything you need whether you want to stay in and cook in their fully equipped kitchen, all you need to bring is food & drinks! There are even Charcoal grills at every cabin and the Jacuzzi hot tubs are perfect to pass the mornings & evenings away. Our cabin Serenity had a pool table and bubble hockey game upstairs. Plenty of DVD's, dish network tv, puzzles, books, and some games. The beds are a little firm for our taste, but that is really the only negative that I have. Not ridiculous but just wish they were softer. We can't wait to go back next year!

I call it a resort because it absolutely fits the definition of a resort which is a place that is a popular destination for vacations or recreation, or which is frequented for a particular purpose. The destination is popular for all Canaan Valley activities (skiing, horse back riding, cavern exploration, etc). We frequent these cabins for recreation, relaxation, rest and recuperation. The cabins are second to none and the attention to detail is simply amazing. The cabins are decorated with five star quality and they all present that home away from home feeling. The kitchens have all the appliances, dishes, pots and pans that you need in order to prepare those home cooked meals while living in your home away from home. This was our second time visiting this luxury cabin resort and we decided to bring our brother and sister along for a birthday celebration. My wife and I stayed in the Royale Cabin and my Brother and sister stayed in the Majestic Cabin. When we arrived we walked right into our cabin and were amazed by the captivating appeal. The soft music was playing in the background and the cozy gas fireplace had the place warm and toasty inside. Both cabins were even meticulously decorated for Christmas holiday which was a very nice touch. Daniel & Jamie Marsh are Simply Outstanding and you can tell that they care about their customers experience. They have thought of everything in order to make your stay extremely enjoyable and relaxing to include the jacuzzi/Hot tub which was excellent during the winter nights. We will FOREVER support them and this astonishing luxury cabin resort because they understand professionalism, quality, customer appeal and customer service. Customer service was apologetic, but offered little solution for this huge (and disgusting) inconvenience. After many calls back and forth we did get an air mattress that we place in the dining room for the rest of the stay and offered a partial refund. The house also seemed like it had not been cleaned properly. The bedding and bathrooms had hair all over and some were stained. No paperwork has been received, so at this point, who knows if they will honor their word with the refund. Bed bugs aside, the house was in a quiet neighborhood and close to the lake.

Our stay was extremely disappointing from start to finish. We arrived needing to use the restroom,…read moreonly to find that the water was completely shut off. After calling the office, maintenance was sent and we were initially told it was due to an electrical outage--but later, after multiple complaints, we were told the water had actually been shut off for the winter. Once the water was turned back on, we realized there was no toilet paper provided, even though the listing stated that a few rolls would be supplied. Unfortunately, that was just the beginning of the issues. The hot tub barely functioned, with only two jets working. The grill was filthy, covered in old food, and wouldn't even light to be cleaned. A replacement grill was brought out, but it didn't work either. Inside, the cleanliness was unacceptable--there was trash on the floors between furniture, the bottom of the fridge looked like it had never been cleaned, and the entire place had an unpleasant smell. There were also several safety concerns. The porch was covered in a slippery slime, and I ended up twisting my back after stepping on it. The air fryer was broken and fell apart while I was removing hot food, nearly causing a serious burn. Appliances throughout the home were either ineffective or unusable. The dishwasher made dishes smell worse, and the kitchen sink didn't get hot enough to properly hand wash them. The washer/dryer combo took at least five hours per load. None of the downstairs games worked properly. To make matters worse, the cleanliness of the bathrooms was completely unacceptable. When my husband lifted a toilet seat in the basement, there appeared to be dried feces or blood on it. When I reported this, I was told that housekeeping "always ensures the bathrooms are clean," which clearly was not the case. I spent the majority of the first two days on the phone trying to resolve these issues, which completely ruined what was supposed to be a relaxing vacation. After we left, I spoke with someone in the office (Aiden or Hayden), who told me we would not receive any reimbursement. I requested to speak with a manager and was told I would receive a call on Tuesday, 04/07/2026--but no one ever followed up. Overall, this was a very frustrating and disappointing experience. Instead of a relaxing getaway, it turned into a stressful and unpleasant trip. I would not recommend staying here

The owner, Ken Davis, has deep roots in the area and is very knowledgeable of its history and geography. The cabin is well-appointed and comfortable, and very private. It sits at the foot of many acres of private hiking trails where you will see deer and other wildlife. The two-room cabin can comfortably sleep 4 and includes a fully appointed kitchen. There were lots of goodies in the fridge, a bottle of wine, lovely blueberry cookies, and we felt immediately at home. And it's quite a reasonable price for what you get. My wife and I stayed 5 nights so the multi-night discount made it very worthwhile. The only thing that would have improved the experience (for me, since I'm an internet guy) would be wireless connectivity. There was a phone but only local calls permitted there. We will definitely be back!
