New ownership and a new level of service. Cold beer and GREAT, fast, and friendly service. I've been to this location multiple times in the past and while it was good it was little more than a dive; it's different now and there were a lot more patrons. I will be back to get more than a beer in the future. There is some parking alongside and lots of street parking in the area.

Friendly service, very clean and the Pizza was very tasty. Will definitely stop in next time we'll be around.

The gentleman who served us was simply a delight and you can hear his love for his community and this bar when he speaks which made our entire dining experience so much more enjoyable! Food -- My husband ordered the Mushroom and Swiss burger and it was cooked perfectly, seasoned perfectly, and super juicy -- he particularly appreciated that they toasted the bun. I ordered the whitefish basket and was very happy that the breading wasn't overly thick and overpowering, but the tarter sauce was worth writing this review and I could have brought some home with me! We ordered the whitefish dip for an appetizer, which was fabulous, but I'm not sure the chips were the best pairing. Decor -- There are antique tools on the wall that are really fun to look at and guess what they were used for (some we have at home and still use), There's a much more modern boxing machine and games for kids, too. Bathroom -- A little awkward, I'm not sure a wheelchair user without assistance would be able to swing the shape of the bathroom. I did have a chuckle that there's a "men's" room and a just not men's room (it was whited out). Overall, an absolute delight and great place to be able to stretch our legs and get some good food. We don't drink, so I can't tell you anything about the alcohol -- but I hear their Shirley Temples are famous!

She gave us samples of the cream soda without us requesting it. It was delicious as well. She also gave me a sample of the stout beer with cream soda in it that really added to the flavor! You cant go wrong with the pizza - sometimes it gets a little burnt (I'm not a fan of a very toasty pie, so this is very sad when it happens!) I also love their popcorn. They often have good specials on the board - got a great turkey club this summer! Their ranch is usually very good, too. I don't eat fish, personally, but everybody I know likes the whitefish options. Their house salad is good and comes with a lot of toppings, I do miss the ole salad bar. :'( As for the beer, I love their blueberry blonde. Their Harvest was GREAT but I never saw that this fall, not sure if I just missed it. (Please make that more!) I'm not a huge malty fan, so sometimes it is slim pickings (they only have space for a handful on tap at a time), but there is usually an option of two for me on tap. They do also have a full bar if you're more picky than I am or are just a fan of canned drinks/cocktails. The service is almost always good even if it can be a smidge slow at times. It can sometimes also be quite a wait for a table (with nowhere really to wait inside), it is only really a bummer to have no tables available when they won't open the back room, though. :/ Otherwise, it's understandable! Overall, I'm sure some of my love is nostalgia and vibes, but it really is a great option in town. *They do live music sometimes, the jukebox was free when we were in in the fall, so that was fun, too.

The smashburgers were perfectly executed--juicy, flavorful, and layered with the kind of detail you can taste in every bite. The chicken wings had that ideal balance of crisp and tenderness, and the potato salad? Comforting, creamy, and done right. But the real standout for me was the cannoli pizza--creative, indulgent, and completely unforgettable. Beyond the food, what truly sets Pond Hill Farm apart is the experience. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and effortlessly charming--exactly what you want for a night out in Northern Michigan. As a fellow local business, I also deeply appreciate how supportive they are of the community. It means something--and it shows in everything they do. If you haven't been, go. We were there during dueling piano night. It was pretty crowded, but the folks behind the bar were doing a great job of getting everyone served. Not sure if that was a good thing or a bad thing. The bartender was friendly. The only redeeming food star was my daughter's Chicken Alfredo. We all liked that! However the rest of the entrées were a let down. My son's penne pasta with chicken lacked pesto and chicken. My wife's Caesar salad was in her words, "nothing special." My Greek salad with lemon vinaigrette had no lemon flavor whatsoever. My chicken may have been trying to identify as croutons. Yikes! Everyone's chicken portions were so small I'm not sure if they were for a toddler or a really small bird. Most of the food was a letdown. Hazy IPA - was lackluster like a dusty old surfboard Blood Orange Seltzer - my risk-it-for-the-biscuit choice ...oddly satisfying. It tasted a little like a creamsicle. My wife's blackberry cider was on point. Send it to us trolls down in the lower peninsula. Kids enjoyed "homemade" root beer. All in all, we spent around $90.
