    Double Moo Bacon Cheeseburger
    Tracy S.

I cannot say enough good things about the simplicity of this menu and the flavor of the food. The French fries are like "fair" fries (there's even malt vinegar on the tables!) We split a large order of fries and they were WAY too big for two of us. That cup was inside the bag with the copious amount of fries surrounding it. We made three meals of those fries. The associate at the counter had good advice and a good sense of humor. The burger had a juicy center but crisp edges, coupled with the bun toasted the same way, it was a win! The seating was ample and the wait was minimal. All food was cooked to order. Next time, we will split a double Moo or get singles. It was WAY too much for the two of us. The amicable owner walked amongst the tables asking about the food, and answering questions. He definitely wants you to return. Dang, we were so full we could not order any ice cream! We'll be back.

I had no idea... this place is sooooo good. Hubby got the double; I got the single with the olive burger mix topping. Wayne (the owner) took some time to perfect this to get it just right before he put it on the menu. And the fries? Hand cut and fresh! A most generous serving. If you are in the area, make it a meal stop. If you're not in the area, take a road trip. You'll be glad you did!

Delish local food, a real community feel, and a genuine nice guy as the owner. I had a burger with jalapeños, bacon, grilled onions, lettuce, mayo, and it was soooo juicy and flavorful. The meat comes from his brother's farm. And the poutine.... YUM! We've decided this will be a tradition whenever we come to the UP. NGL, I'd cross the Mackinac bridge for this burger!!!!

    Poutine Fries

So before we go on vacation we usually look all along the whole route and see what's out there, what's coming up, as far as gift shops, restaurants, beaches roadside parks or anything like that. We saw "Moofinfries" on the route and it looked interesting so we decided to try this on our way home from vacation. It is a small little restaurant and I didn't understand the name until I figured it out, they sell burgers, fish and fries so the burgers are "Moooo" the fish have "fins" and then they also make Poutine Fries. At least that's how I think the name came along, that's just my opinion. So I ordered a 4 piece white fish and a small order of Poutine Fries. They have a small picnic table outside for those who want to sit outside and eat and we'll, why not it was a nice day out, they also sell some of their own merchandise like hats, shirts and hoodies. I also bought a hat cause I love hats. They also told us that all the fries are cut fresh to order and the fish is caught daily from the local lake which is really amazing! So I had the Poutine fries first and I will say this is the BEST poutine I have EVER eaten, everything just tastes as fresh as they said it was, the gravy was thick, it had a great seasoning and was just all out amazing. Now let's talk about this whitefish, I have had white fish before, in fact, I have had it at some expensive restaurants but what they brought out was better than any white fish I have had at any other place, the batter was nice and crispy, it wasn't super oily like most batter usually is, the fish was VERY delicious, it didn't have a fishy taste or texture at all. it literally broke apart when you cut it with your fork and then the tartar sauce to dip it in was really good. Everything at this restaurant from the fries to the fish and even the restrooms, which were immaculately clean, was just perfect. This is a place we will stop EVERYTIME we go on vacation and I think anyone that is ever driving down the U.S. 2 in the Upper Peninsula needs to stop here and give this place a try because you WILL NOT regret it.

We just had delicious burgers, poutine and shakes here. What a good choice this was for lunch! The restaurant was sparkling clean and welcoming. The food was wonderful. The poutine was made with a rich beef gravy and we really enjoyed it. You order your food at the counter and then can choose your seat at one of the gorgeous wood tables. The food was brought to us promptly. Every staff member we spoke with was courteous and very friendly. We will definitely be returning.

Going to the UP with my family we had a lot of recommendations, but all the guys my husband works with, unanimously said this burger place is a must. We planned accordingly. This place is 40min going west from the bridge. If we weren't specifically looking for it, we would have never stopped there. While it's cute, it's not a place that commandeers attention driving by. Walking in, it's decor is like a cabin, tables are lacquered picnic tables. You order at the counter and sit down to wait for your food to be brought out. Any misgivings I may have had, were gone with the first bite. This burger made me want to wax poetic and I'm not a poet, nor that big of a burger lover. The burger was juicy, flavorful, and at least for me, didn't even need any condiments. Fries were good but not spectacular. Everyone agreed though that it was hands down the best burgers we've ever had in a restaurant. So goid in fact that we made it a point to stop by again on the way back. Since Moofinfries only makes burgers, fries, and fried white fish (hence the name), I had to try the fish too. The burgers were just as good as the first time. The fish was flaky and cooked to perfection. The family was split on how much they liked the fish. 2 votes good, 2 votes ok. Fish is a tricky thing especially with kids. I'd still say to try it if you're a fan. Definitely recommend this spot. The views of Michigan Lake on the drive are amazing as well! P.S. The first stop I forgot to take a picture of any of the food because we were hungry and it was too good. I almost forgot the second time too, but tore myself away after the first couple bites to capture the deliciousness.

Cheeseburger with only mayo and fries (Keweenaw Point Trail as well)

Always mind blowing! Service is SO kind, food is as well. We are so lucky to have this place!

We drove 40 min to get here. They were closed. Is there a way this business could have updated hours on google or yelp.

The person answering the phone seemed annoyed and not interested. They sharply answer no. I followed up with a question about how late they are open, since we might be going later in the evening. Again, a sharp response. We disconnected after that. This was clue number one. In the evening we arrived around 5:30. Not a single car was in the parking lot. That should have been clue number two. We asked where they would like a party of ten. They pointed said push table together wherever. Then mentioned, oh we have a modified menu. A list of about 10-15 items that were all deep fried only. We had picked this place due to their variety of items. This is something that 100% should have been told to us on the phone. Don't worry, we decided to go to another place for dinner after some of the members in our group did not want fried food. Only reason this is not a 1 star is I think the name is clever. Outside that. Poor customer service both over the phone and in house. I recommend avoiding.

Blessed from all directions. A patty melt was on the menu, so that's what I got. I can't not get a patty melt if I see one on a menu! This one was beefy and melty, with caramelized red onions between two slices of rye bread. All of the burgers and sandwiches come with plain potato chips and a pickle spear. We also got a regular cheeseburger and bleu cheese burger. All of the burgers are served on a pretzel bun, which is not my favorite type of bun, but I wasn't eating those burgers, and the eaters didn't seem to mind. Chuckwagon has a small kids' menu (the Lil' Buckaroo's Menu), with four items on it. Your kids can choose from a pb & j sandwich, a hot dog, a grilled cheese sandwich and mac & cheese. My little buckaroo chose the mac & cheese, which I believe was Kraft mac & cheese. Kids' menu items don't come with anything additional. This is a small restaurant with limited seating. You can sit at the counter and watch the action happen, or if you're lucky, you can find one of the few tables lining the wall or located in the back of the restaurant. Either way, depending on when you visit, you might encounter a crowd! But I think it's worth it to visit this old-school diner-type restaurant.

So the first thing on our list of needs, was buying a can of Off! Being that the cottage is in a fairly rural area, there aren't very many stores. But on our drive in, I noticed King's Fish Market. It was close, so I drove up. Turns out they don't sell bug spray, only smoked fish and a million other things, including Venison sausage. I purchased some smoked white fish and some venison cheddar sausage. OMG-Fantastic! They also have a little cafe and you can order fish and chips, chicken fingers etc as well. Big local beer selection too. After walking around checking everything out, I walked past a couple of women having lunch. I figured I'd ask how the food was. They then told me it was delicious, and that they have lunch there several times a week. Needless to say, my lovely wife and I will be back! While we found this to be a charming local fish and specialty market, we were unfortunately underwhelmed by the food. Most of us ordered the 2-piece whitefish basket with fries. The fish itself seemed fresh, but the batter lacked seasoning and could have been much crispier. The fries were also fairly soggy. We also tried the whitefish chowder, which desperately needed salt. Adding a bit ourselves made a huge difference in flavor. We arrived well before the lunch rush and practically had the place to ourselves, so perhaps this was just an off day. Still, the fish baskets felt severely under-fried and lacking overall flavor, which was disappointing given the local reputation and specialty focus.
