found this little gem about seven or eight years ago when we started traveling the UP for business events ! fantastic burgers, and fresh cut fries . Now every time we go to the try to plan to make sure we can stop here and get lunch and usually order a little extra for dinner too There are multiple roads that go north from two in the so unless you're going to Sault Ste. Marie almost every time you could choose to go here which we do We always try to stop by and support Wayne and his family! great fresh burgers, fantastic customer service and love that they are second amendment supporters and did not freak out when we came in with our guns on our side they also have ice cream station in here with I don't know + flavors not exactly sure Whenever you get a chance, please stop here on your way. Walked in and immediately a young man informed us it would be a long wait (45 min). We decided we didn't want to wait but used their facilities. We then thought, let's wait...pizza didn't sound too appealing. Thankful we did. The food didn't take near 45 minutes. They had just served a group of 30ish motorcycle club members causing the wait. I can tell you the moo (locally sourced from the owner's brother), fin (whitefish from Lake Superior) and the fries (fresh cut!) are all great! The owner checked on us and shared his story of opening the restaurant. He built the furniture, did the stainless work, tables, benches...all of it! Not sure we'll be back through the area anytime soon, however, if we are, we'll definitely go back. I mean, we tried everything except the ice cream...so we have to? Ok, I've been waiting catch this place when it's open, today was the day! The staff are really friendly and the place is very clean. If you've ever been to a Five Guys burger place then you know what to expect as it's basically a UP vibe of a Five Guys knockoff that also offers fish dinners. The burger was really good, and i'd say they actually use a better bun then Five Guys but I did have a little problem with the prices. Now before anyone gets on me for mentioning price, I work in food service and don't have a problem paying but $20 dollars for a single cheese burger and fries (tip) is a little pricey in my humble opinion. On this occasion i took my lunch up the road to the rest stop and ate on beach overlooking Lake Michigan. I feel Clyde's overall is a better burger but I'm certainly looking forward to coming back to try the fish sandwich!! read more

I cannot say enough good things about the simplicity of this menu and the flavor of the food. The French fries are like "fair" fries (there's even malt vinegar on the tables!) We split a large order of fries and they were WAY too big for two of us. That cup was inside the bag with the copious amount of fries surrounding it. We made three meals of those fries. The associate at the counter had good advice and a good sense of humor. The burger had a juicy center but crisp edges, coupled with the bun toasted the same way, it was a win! The seating was ample and the wait was minimal. All food was cooked to order. Next time, we will split a double Moo or get singles. It was WAY too much for the two of us. The amicable owner walked amongst the tables asking about the food, and answering questions. He definitely wants you to return. Dang, we were so full we could not order any ice cream! So before we go on vacation we usually look all along the whole route and see what's out there, what's coming up, as far as gift shops, restaurants, beaches roadside parks or anything like that. We saw "Moofinfries" on the route and it looked interesting so we decided to try this on our way home from vacation. It is a small little restaurant and I didn't understand the name until I figured it out, they sell burgers, fish and fries so the burgers are "Moooo" the fish have "fins" and then they also make Poutine Fries. At least that's how I think the name came along, that's just my opinion. So I ordered a 4 piece white fish and a small order of Poutine Fries. They have a small picnic table outside for those who want to sit outside and eat and we'll, why not it was a nice day out, they also sell some of their own merchandise like hats, shirts and hoodies. I also bought a hat cause I love hats. They also told us that all the fries are cut fresh to order and the fish is caught daily from the local lake which is really amazing! So I had the Poutine fries first and I will say this is the BEST poutine I have EVER eaten, everything just tastes as fresh as they said it was, the gravy was thick, it had a great seasoning and was just all out amazing. Now let's talk about this whitefish, I have had white fish before, in fact, I have had it at some expensive restaurants but what they brought out was better than any white fish I have had at any other place, the batter was nice and crispy, it wasn't super oily like most batter usually is, the fish was VERY delicious, it didn't have a fishy taste or texture at all. it literally broke apart when you cut it with your fork and then the tartar sauce to dip it in was really good. Everything at this restaurant from the fries to the fish and even the restrooms, which were immaculately clean, was just perfect. This is a place we will stop EVERYTIME we go on vacation and I think anyone that is ever driving down the U.S. 2 in the Upper Peninsula needs to stop here and give this place a try because you WILL NOT regret it. read more

I spent a week in Naubinway with my family when I was little. Beautiful place, though the thing I remember most is Moofinfries. Going to the UP with my family we had a lot of recommendations, but all the guys my husband works with, unanimously said this burger place is a must. We planned accordingly. This place is 40min going west from the bridge. If we weren't specifically looking for it, we would have never stopped there. While it's cute, it's not a place that commandeers attention driving by. Walking in, it's decor is like a cabin, tables are lacquered picnic tables. You order at the counter and sit down to wait for your food to be brought out. Any misgivings I may have had, were gone with the first bite. This burger made me want to wax poetic and I'm not a poet, nor that big of a burger lover. The burger was juicy, flavorful, and at least for me, didn't even need any condiments. Fries were good but not spectacular. Everyone agreed though that it was hands down the best burgers we've ever had in a restaurant. So goid in fact that we made it a point to stop by again on the way back. Since Moofinfries only makes burgers, fries, and fried white fish (hence the name), I had to try the fish too. The burgers were just as good as the first time. The fish was flaky and cooked to perfection. The family was split on how much they liked the fish. 2 votes good, 2 votes ok. Fish is a tricky thing especially with kids. I'd still say to try it if you're a fan. Definitely recommend this spot. The views of Michigan Lake on the drive are amazing as well! P.S. The first stop I forgot to take a picture of any of the food because we were hungry and it was too good. I love this place! It's a great burger joint. They also sell fish sandwiches, though I've never had one. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. It's located just a perfect distance between many destinations you could be traveling in the southern shore of the UP. Every time I go, the owner himself, comes to visit our table to show his appreciation of your patronage and make sure you were satisfied. If you leave hungry, you left without finishing your meal. The portions are huge. The fries are freshly cut for each batch (your order) made. We've stopped nearly every time we get this far west of the bridge. So I decide to back up and review the food first. I ordered the SINGLE CHEESE BURGER w/ ketchup mustard lettuce tomato mayonnaise onion and I am going to say BEST BURGER I'VE EVER HAD. I had forgotten about this place or never thought I'd be near it, but as we were on our way to Manistique, Michigan my wife suggested it. So we stopped. It was Not what I expected at all. First when we walked in it looked very minimal picnic tables to the right and a counter to the left where you order. By the way the picnic tables are in the top 2 nicest I've ever seen. The owner said he made them. The owner came over twice to talk to us, once before we got our food and a second time while we were eating. He is super personable and seems like a real nice guy. So not to disappoint Brian if he still reads my Yelps. The napkins they give you with your were outstanding and they had others in the table in a holder that I didn't try but looked a little less sturdy. They also had Salt, Pepper, Hot Sauce, and Malt Vinegar on the table. Overall this was a great surprise and a great experience. I definitely want to stop again and will when in the area. My husband said his burger was incredible. My fish sandwich was perfect: moist with crispy skin and crispy coating. The salad i had ordered (thinking i'll eat it the next day but no such luck), we all ate from it because each salad leaf and vegetable tasted as real food should (if you don't know what that means, come try it here). Wow, great locally sourced food. We stopped at MooFinFries on our trip along the North Shore of Lake Michigan in route back to Minnesota. MooFinFries has good grass-fed beef burgers, fresh-caught white fish, and a generous portion of hand-cut potato fries - a really nice, well-prepared dinner and a comfortable, friendly environment. We did not try the poutine, but it was described as a local variation of the French-Canadian specialty comfort food. A note about the potato fries from someone who grew up on a potato farm: these are the real deal; large fresh spuds, hand cut, and deep-fried in peanut oil; not crispy, but cooked gently and slightly browned. These are much, much better that the overly cooked, crisp, salty fries you get at a fast-food place like McDonalds.
