The Al Pastor tacos are a must try; everything is affordable and delicious ---- Al Pastor Taco $2.25: - probably the best al pastor taco I've ever had - juicy meat and the sweet pineapple chunks shine through - coming from San Diego the prices are amazing and the flavors rival the ones back home (and beat it!) The Barbacoa tacos $2.25 were also good but the Al Pastor was truly a standout, I ordered more after I finished! Tamales are good too, for the price, but again if you had to try anything on this menu I highly recommend the Al Pastor. ---- Notes: - shared parking with other businesses - inside seating - drinks were $3 each, the soursop one was unique but not for me - service was great, nice and friendly - ambiance was homey feeling, no frills - salsas available in the drink fridge areas and cheaper tamales if you buy them cold ---- Overall: so glad to have this as my first meal in Colorado, my favorite place in the area, so yummy you MUST try the al pastor tacos! **Unexpected Gem!** We stumbled upon this place by accident after facing a long wait at another nearby spot--and I'm so glad we did! There was no wait when we arrived (though there *should* have been, based on how good the food was). The service was friendly and efficient, the prices were very reasonable, and every dish we tried was excellent. The chile relleno was crisp and delicate, the tacos were packed with flavorful, well-seasoned meat, and the tamales were easily some of the best I've ever had. I have been coming here for years! Best tamales ANYWHERE! The prices are reasonable, and the people are fantastic! There are a few tables, but I buy these by the dozen, sometimes multiple dozens, and go home where the family devours them! Any left are eaten soon thereafter. Another hole in the wall in "Downtown" Commerce City. Was inside around 5:30pm and I was freezing. 3 cheesy tables for four in the unorganized establishment. I ordered 2 tasty delicious, nice portion burritos. 1 chilli relleno and 1 bean and cheese. I enjoyed them very much. Not a lot of sodium in their beans. I will be back! The prices are super cheap! I had heard about the wonderful Tamales at the new little place in Commerce City. Today I decided to stop by and try the Red with Pork & Green Chile with Cheese Tamales. Price was so good I bought 4 so I could share with a Neighbor. I couldn't decide which I liked the best. Green Chile with Cheese, I could taste the Green Chile and there was plenty and there is bit of heat to it. The Red with Pork, there were huge chunks of pork and the red Chile was just right. We both loved them. I will definitely come back. I would like to try other items on the menu. The place is small, as word gets around I wouldn't depend on getting a seat for dining in. Picked up a dozen tamales half strawberry and half pineapple. As the picture shows this is how they were when we got them home. You might expect something like this from a place that does not specialize in tamales. We were able to salvage about four tamales the rest went into the trash. Please take pride in the making of your tamales, it's what feeds your families. For my family it was a bad experience, will find an alternative source. read more

We were on our way to ski to Beaver Creek and meet the Cuban side of the family, we know they love Mexican food, so we wanted to take something good and easy for breakfast. We found this place as an option in our way. The restaurant itself, has nothing special to it, however their tamales OMG! Delicious, we had breakfast there to try them before buying several dozens and my hubby usually eats them with cream (easy to have) and queso cotija (not so common in restaurants) so they made our restaurant experience a great one. Now, I have to confess I didn't ask the names of the ladies that helped us at the register or was our server, my assumption one of them was Sara, but both of them were beyond nice, and you can tell they believe in their food and enjoy interacting with the customers. Price is very reasonable $1 per tamale when bought in half dozens or full dozens or $1.50 by the tamale. They can also sell you the refried beans for the side when you serve them. Love the flavor, I will make sure to stop by for to go tamales when we fly in to go skiing to Vail. read more

I love this little place with all of my masa-wrapped heart. The tamales are delicious and moist like no tamales I've ever had. Especially the green chili and cheese variety - yum. I've gotten them as a quick and easy meal when hosting out-of-town guests, who also agree they're the best tamales ever. The red and green salsas are tasty, but be careful, a dab'll do ya.
