The Bison Grill is a charming restaurant at Bison Ridge Golf Course. They have a very diverse menu, both drinks and food. Our favorite is sitting on the back patio looking out at number 18 and the pond. It's quiet, peaceful, and a great place to relax after playing the course. Our waitress was so sweet and knowledgeable. she made recommendations such as ordering the bison, burger, medium rare over medium because it cooks so quickly. We followed her advice, but sadly, the cooks must have been having a bad day. My husbands medium rare bison burger was cooked well done. I tried the steak salad, which I was very excited about but my medium rare steak was also cooked to well, well done. The meat was so dry. However, our kind waitress apologized and offered me something else. She also removed my salad from the bill without us needing to request it. The location of this restaurant, on a golf course especially on a nice hot day, is un-matched. It certainly made the biggest impact on this review in addition to the service we received. In true golf course spirit, we were also able to connect with other patrons at the restaurant and the venue was suited for such beyond a traditional restaurant. As far as the meals go, the pork belly was extremely dry and could've used some sauce and the fries were nothing special. Although not my dish, I tasted the finish (picture posted) and found it to be well cooked and well flavored. A little salt heightened the flavor, but I would order that again. read more

There are not that many restaurants to dine at in this area. My friend and I had to pick between this place and an Asian restaurant. We should have chosen Asian. This restaurant is on a golf course which is a nice setting. However, the customer service was lackluster. Our server, Natalia, was not very pleasant. I mean she took our order eventually and brought our food out, but her demeanor seemed like she was going through the motions. I ordered a bison burger with sweet tots. The sweet tots were okay, but I believe fries would have been a better choice and without the $1 up charge. To sub bison for a hamburger is a $4 up charge, and that was not worth it either. The burger was dry. We had a plane to catch so it wasn't like we had time to send our food back. I wouldn't go out of my way to ever eat here again, but if you are already using the golf course, it's convenient. read more

This was our first stop in Colorado after landing in for our winter ski trip. We had such a great meal. Try the nachos!! They had a great local seasonal beer too. Everything we had was so good. Wow! A mere 10 minutes from the lunacy of Denver airport, and we feel lucky to have found this spot. The eatery serves a local, public golf course, so it is open to all. It is a large and ample dining room that is a chill post-golf vibe with high ceilings and fantastic views. The staff is SO friendly and attentive. The food was universally good and so reasonably priced. My HUGE grilled Caesar salad would be at least double in my hometown of Los Angeles. There were vegetarian and gluten-free options, even if they were not advertised as such. A very affordable lunch for 8 with a starter and ordering to our heart's content was $120. I would definitely recommend The Bison Grill if you are in the vicinity of Denver airport and looking for a non-chain, sit-down lunch option. Not fast, but fresh and tasty. read more

Met up with a friend for lunch here, and I ordered their mixed greens salad with crispy chicken on top. It was fantastic! Their green chili ranch was a nice topping to this amazingly delicious salad. I am daydreaming about my next trip here to get this salad again. My friend really enjoyed her salad as well, she ordered a mixed green salad with salmon on top. I have had every salad there past and present and they do not disappoint. My one and only complaint would be they recently went through a menu change and took their club sandwich off of the menu . A solid, Thanksgiving-eve surprise that caught us truly off-guard (in a good way). Five of us arrived DIA in the early evening, facing a snowy drive north to Fort Collins in our rented SUV. A big snow dump the day before meant some challenging driving in holiday traffic and we decided to Yelp up something other than fast food on the way up. Our approach to Bison Grill was eerie, driving in snowy half-light, nothing indicating the restaurant, just an unassuming sign about a golf course that we almost passed up entirely. Bison Grill is part of the Buffalo Run Golf Course off 112th, and sure enough, despite the near absence of vehicles on the night before Thanksgiving, Bison Grill was open, a big fire blazing, and extremely friendly service. Wide-ranging menu kept everyone happy: burger, salads, onion rings, french onion soup. I was intrigued by the buffalo burrito, and while it was good-ish, I'd expected a burrito stuffed with ground bison and the filling was instead sliced buffalo which made for an odd burrito combo. That said, the pork green chile they smother the burritos in is top-notch and I'd highly recommend the green chile on its own (they're well known for the chile and serve it as a dish). Terrific service at the end of a holiday shift; not the easiest time to muster up efficiency and good will...so our group was very pleased. It is a bit "in the middle of nowhere" but if you live nearby, it's a place worth patronizing. read more

I and my family were making our way back home from the airport and trying to figure out where to eat. First stop home was going to be Thornton, notorious for having no good restaurants at all. We needed either something on the way or we would have to divert to another town. I found this restaurant burried away in a neighborhood but on the way back home. It is a gold course eatery but who cares right? The ambiance was more like an upscale place, the food choices were many and everything sounded really good. I got the Colorado Dip (French dip with cheese and bacon) and a side of green chili. Both were soooo good. My wife got a stew and my parents who were with me got also the green chili. I am looking forward to going back for dinner again sometime in the not-so-distant future. Our service was good with a young man taking care of our table. Nick and I often dine in here after many fun and heated games of golf. We usually treat ourselves for double date time, with a couple in competition!! We were greeted by our warm host, and we were a party of 4. The Bison Grill has been handling the Covid-19 guidelines very well and we regularly make this our awesome spot to hangout! I love how passably priced most of the menu seems to be. For breakfast, I always order the FIRST TEE dish for $10! I received two eggs, I order them scrambled with hot sauce. Can't go wrong with hot sauce. Both for my choice of bacon or sausage. You get to choose some choices of toast and side. I always pick two sides: The Breakfast potatoes and cottage cheese. My favorite toast is Sourdough. Some days, Nick and I share the Biscuits N' Gravy Combo for $11.00!! We always enjoy the two buttermilk biscuits that are so warm and very doughy. Apparently it is topped with their homemade "country gravy." Beats the other locations where we had Biscuits and gravy for sure. We like the eggs to always be scrambled. We always choose the regular bacon, and cottage cheese. I love that all the breakfast items are able to be generous and allow us to choose between bacon or sausage and choice of side. read more

Brownie carmel ice cream delight was huge! The fried strawberry cheesecake was interesting... crazy idea but tasted pretty good. Unfortunately, the corned beef was tough. The cabbage was cooked well and potatoes fine. Soda bread was marginal. It was ok because it was about the celebration... They were short of staff and it gets loud as the room fills up... there is outside dining available! Will be back at slow times. The fish and chips are great and salads fresh! I have been to this restaurant at the Buffalo Run Golf Course many times normally with my husband and once or twice without him. He is a golfer and I am not, but I do enjoy coming here. The food is good and the portions are sizable, but not so big they feel wasteful. Personally I love the homemade chips and I have never been disappointed by the steak salad. We have done breakfast as well. The view of the 18th hole is very beautiful (I only know what hole it is because my hubby has told me.) The service is hit or miss at best. Sometimes you will feel welcomed and receive service quickly other times you will be made to feel that you have interrupted the servers day just by being there and it will be slow and NOT because they are busy. The restaurant itself is open , with a small bar area with high tops, a private room, and the patio. I have sat in all except the private room, although while attending a wedding the room was where the buffet was staged. The high tops are too crowded to sit comfortable and enjoy a meal. The patio is great depending on weather and time of day. The interior dining are is okay, but because of the in and out there are flies and its icky. The flies haven't kept me from going back, but it something that factors into the review. read more
