This place is simply disgusting. I have been going here for over three years even though of all the terrible things I've heard about it in the awful reviews. If you're new here, just don't come. I was just denied to be seen today simply because I am pregnant. I've had an issue that has been going on for seven months. Which I addressed to them seven months ago and they told me it was nothing. Seven months later I'm back and they refused to see me at my appointment time. Their reasoning... because I am pregnant and I'm not giving my money to them for prenatal care. I'm going to a birthing center and they're mad that I'm not going through them so they refused to treat me. This is not like I'm a new patient, I have been coming here consistently for three years. This is disgusting behavior on the providers part. My vaginal issue has nothing to do with my pregnancy. They are completely separate things and should be treated as such. Just do yourself a favor and show up an hour and a half early. When having a new patient please explain to them why you're not taking them in at the time they are scheduled and making them wait an hour. I would highly advise that anyone who considers coming here (especially if you're in your twenties and don't have children yet), rethinks their decision. I have visited this office more than 3 times and every time I have left feeling uncomfortable and disappointed due to the lack of bedside manner. I find that the nurses are very rude (for example, they start walking back to the scale right after they call your name in the lobby and don't want for you to stand up). When voicing my concerns about a procedure that I had done a couple months ago, I was interrupted multiple times to be told "that's normal." When it comes to something as serious as reproductive health, I feel less than cared for and heard as a patient here and I highly encourage that you seek out better care in the area. read more

I would give zero star if I could. The reasons that I do not like this place is: 1, Dr. Gottfried pushes medicines really hard, 2, when I ask questions, most of the answers are "I've been doing this for years..." 3, the midwife is either racist or very very ignorant. 4, it's been 4 months and I still haven't gotten my refund. 5, communication with their office is almost impossible. It you care to read the longer version, here it is: 1, I do not like to take medicines, even tums (food coloring). it's a personal choice. As a doctor, Dr. Gottfried's reaction always made me feel like i'm absolutely unreasonable. And instead of helping me think of alternative ways, her responses are always "there's no alternative." Which is not true. 2, medical things change over time. Something might be true 10 years ago might not be true anymore nowadays. But when I ask questions or push for more specific answers, her answers are always "I've been doing this for a long time" or "this is how everyone does it." Just because everyone does it doesn't make it right or fit for my situation. 3, I'm Asian and my husband is white. The first time when I was sitting in a room in their office, waiting for Dr. Gottfried, the midwife (Sharon) walked in with an Asian guy, said to the guy "your wife is here". Thank god I was still dressed. The guy said to Sharon "this is not my wife", Sharon asked "are you sure"... not even kidding. So I told the front desk that I want to see Dr. Gottfried ONLY. Then a couple of months later my husband and I decided to give Sharon a chance to meet her. She walked in, said "it's been a few weeks since I've seen you." We said "we've never had a visit with you." But she insist that she has talked to us many times. Until finally I said why don't you check your record. She did, and said "I swear to god I have talked to you." ... And during that visit, my husband and I could not finish a word! She keeps rudely interrupt us, or gave us an answer before we finish asking the question -- which of course her answer is not related to our questions at all. At one point when my husband is talking, she will start to talking and raise her voice trying to cover his voice to show that she knows what our question is... It was the most frustrating interaction with a person I've ever had and I left with tears, and immediately drove to momdoc and transferred there ... pretty much ANYWHERE but Gottfried's office. 4, We paid a certain amount of money at the second or third visit. we were told that this will cover pretty much all the rest visits and stuff. after I transferred, I came back asking for refunds, and was told "will calculate and figure out the amount and send you the refund asap." That was Oct. 12. and today is Feb 26. I still haven't heard anything back. 5, Calling their office is absolutely stressful. Most of the time (during business hour) it's voicemail. When they are "switching to new system", the only real person that I can reach is the front desk. All other extensions are voicemail. but I left so many voicemails still no one contacted me, so I reached out to the front desk, the person who answered the phone said "oh we are switching to a new system. the voicemail doesn't work, that's why no one got your message." So I asked how should I reach so and so, she said "feel free to leave a message."...????!!!! So i asked many times, does this person's voicemail work, can she hear her voicemail, I got clear answer of "NO". then I asked what is the best way to reach this person, the answer was "leave her a voicemail."... I came here to see Nurse Terry (Teresa Patin) for my annual well woman exam and Pap smear and had a great appointment. Never felt so comfortable and relaxed around a health provider before and comfort is super important when it comes to appointments like these. To contrast this experience, I had seen another nearby women's health provider (Embry) a few years ago and did not have a great time with her - she was nowhere near as warm and relatable as Terry, was a little condescending and I had dreaded going back there. Front desk there sucked too- luckily decided to come here this time and am glad I now have a wonderful NP to rely on for all my obgyn concerns. Office is a just bit tricky to find, make sure to google map it and see beforehand to see which exact building they are in, as they're located within the big Banner Health cluster of offices! read more

I was looking for a doctor just for a quick check for some pain I was having. I only ever saw the nurse, not the doctor, and she was always friendly and chatty. The wait was a little long, 20-30 mins sometimes. The office is in a super old building and the inside of the office is a bit old school itself. The front desk is usually busy. The main reason for lower stars is because I had an ultrasound done there (had to come back for another appointment since they only do ultrasounds on Tuesdays and Thursdays) and then I waited 2 weeks for results. Well I got a call that said I needed to come into the office to "discuss my results." I was immediately worried and asked if I could just talk to someone over the phone. They said I needed to come in, so I spent a few days unnecessarily stressed just for the nurse to say everything looked perfect. I asked her why I had to come in person and she said something about checking to make sure I wasn't in pain. I feel this could've been handled over a phone call and I could've spoken to someone about the results this way instead of driving 25 minutes to the office. Felt like a way to bill me. I did not get a chance to meet Dr. Gottfried. Ive heard good things about her through a family member. It took a lot to make it to this appointment, I waited a month for the appointment, it was quite a distance away, and I had my baby with me. How ever the day of my appointment I was lost and called to ask for directions to the correct building. The receptionist was VERY RUDE. She told me my appointment was at an earlier time and that I needed to reschedule. I had the email showing me the correct time, as well as receiving phone calls and multiple emails all week confirming the time. The receptionist says "well she is leaving to go deliver, there is nothing I can do" I understand Dr. is on call for delivery but I feel it is the receptionist job to call and cancel appointments ahead of time. She was very short with me. And overall very rude. Im seeing multiple bad reviews about the receptionist. PLEASE GET BETTER RECEPTIONIST. THEY ARE SO RUDE. read more

It seems Dr. Tamar likes some and most she doesn't for whatever reason. She was recommended to me by a friend that saw her once "she seems nice" my friend said. However, she never went back. I am new here so have been looking for a great GYN. I have 6 children that I have given birth to. 1 miscarriage ( had to have a D&C and a cyst removed on my right overy). I've had pre cancerous cells causing me to have a few leaps ( Biopsy up my cervix). I have lived in 3 different states so had my share of different OBGYN'S. Some I have liked better than others but, this was an experience I have NEVER had in 23 years of needing one. I usually only give reviews when something is good to promote a business but, If I could warn all people from having the same experience I had with this lady I will! DON'T GO HERE!!! The staff is always mad and has a chip on their shoulders. Makes you feel like you are a bother whether you are on the phone or in the office. My first visit I felt Dr. Tamar was put out and cared nothing about what my concerns were. Surely didnt listen. Some just have bad days so I chalked it up to that. I got my blood taken from the phlebotomist, the girl was mad as she took deep breath and was not gentle. I told her I could come back, she said "no it's fine, it's just my lunch break that's all" (Should have walked out then) Had a bruise from that for 4 days. I had an ultrasound the next visit, the girl was awesome. She is why this office even got at least 1 star from me. She was sweet and kind. The next visit was to get results from the ultrasound. Receptionist had no greeting but a ticked off additude. (No one was even in the waiting room, not busy at all) after being taken back Dr. Tamar came in told me I had a cyst on my ovary and said "nothing she would worry about". I tried to tell her of my bloating she said "it's just because you are getting older" as she was giving me a breast exam. She then told me my uterus lining was thik and I would need to come back for another apt to get a biopsy of my uterus. Because I lived 30 min away I asked her if it was a procedure I could get done now or if it was more intense that I should wait? She said "I guess we can do it now but you should take Ibuprofen first." I thought she was going to bring me some. Because she didn't, I thought ok this won't be that bad or she would have brought me something. Her nurse seemed very quiet. I don't think she even said a word. As I got ready to get a pap and biopsy I felt very uneasy and different then I had ever felt. The pap has always been uncomfortable but this time it felt like she was stabbing the swab hard everywhere to get a sample. It actually hurt to get a pap. I thought ok well she is just not a gentle Dr. . Then I heard her say... "little skimpy on the Anastasia". Immediately Right after that, I hear "I need to clamp it" then there was a lot of pain. I have a pretty high pain tolerance so I turned my head and grit my teeth and tried to breathe calm as I started to have tears roll down my face. My body was moving like I was being sawed on. After, she pulled out the tools she gave me a pelvic exam to check the ovaries. This was almost unbearable at this point. Not to mention the emotional violation I felt. After a pad was thrown on my clothes before they left Tamar said "we'll call you with results as soon as we get them" and walked out. As I sat there sweating, feeling sick and trying to gain my composure and not through up, I looked over and saw the sample of my biopsy on the table in a plastic cup not labeled. I truly thought what the heck is this lady running. My family has ER surgens, doctors, nurses, phlebotomists. I knew a lot of the procedures that should be done legally. Even the simplest things were not being done. That finally was a huge eye opener to me. No direction was given as to what to expect for pain, clots nothing, just "you might bleed a little". As I walked out of the office I had to concentrate to not loose get sick right there. After getting into my "safe haven" (car) 2 flights down, I sat and cried for 30 min before I could drive home. That night I was in a lot of pain. I could not get a hold of anyone that could help from the emergancy on call line. 3 different numbers were given to me but nothing came of them. It's been 2 days and I have things going on that I know are not normal but geting to see another Dr. cause I will Never call nor go to this Dr. again. I truly hope nothing is wrong however, clotting tissue and a fever can not be good. Save yourself the wonder if this clinic is going to deem you the lucky one they are nice to you and do a good job or not. Please excuse typos as this was done from my phone. read more

Dr Gottfried delivered my 6th baby. I am so glad I chose her as my doctor. My experience was great! She was very professional, experienced and friendly. I always felt safe, and confident in her. I appreciate that she took time to answer my questions, in the office and on the phone! The office staff is quick, friendly and helpful. I never experienced long waits. The office was always very clean and I felt comfortable. Dr. Gottfried is the best!!! All the women in my family are patients. Whenever I have any concerns or questions, Dr. Gottfried always takes the time to listen and answer thoroughly. I never waited more than 10 minutes in the room to be seen. I love that a lab and ultrasound are on location and she does procedures in office. At my last appointment she removed my nexplanon. It didn't take more than 15 minutes. I was in and out. When I called to schedule this appointment they were able to see me the same week. So fast, easy scheduling, the convenience of having a procedure, ultrasound or my labs drawn in house, and most importantly, an awesome doctor on top of that is what keeps me as a patient. I will keep referring patients as long as Dr. Gottfried is practicing. read more

Ahh I see my husbands review got pulled from this site so here it goes, I went into gottfrieds office with a pain in my chest and a 3 cm lump in my breast. I told her my family history of lumpectomys, mom at 35, cousin at 18 and grandma at 60. She only did a ultra sound and mammogram and told me it was a dense tissue...fast forward months and her office ws refusing to send over my patient info it took a week and my current ob/gyn ordered a BIOPSY that saved my life because turns out I have cancer.....yes you can have cancer at 30 and now I have a double mastectomy and chemo and radiation. Do not go to this doctor she will ignore your pains/problems and not perform the needed task for your health concern. read more

I had to switch from my reproductive endocrinologist (PLEASE call New Direction Fertility Centers if you're looking for a good RE. Ask to see Dr. Amols) to a regular OB GYN after finding out I am pregnant. So after doing some research, I chose Dr. Gottfried's office because she had great reviews on other sites, takes my insurance, and is affilliated with Banner Desert Medical Center. So far the staff have been incredibly friendly and helpful, and Dr. Gottfried herself is very efficient and reassuring when it comes to questions about pregnancy and overall womens' health. She strikes me as being a woman of few words, but she will listen and give advice if you let her know you have questions. I've never had her rush me out, even when I knew she was super busy, and she speaks plainly without being condescending. I can't STAND doctors and nurses who love to throw around medical terminology and expect you to know what they are talking about. The staff are always laughing and joking and referring to patients by first name. You can tell they truly enjoy working there, which is also a really good sign. The office is small with some outdated murals on the walls, but it is clean and cozy. It is located on the same campus as the hospital, so there is always ample parking and you don't have to go somewhere else for labs. Word of warning - this office is usually full of pregnant ladies and there tends to be a bit of a wait to see the doctor. One afternoon I swear there were five women there with strollers, so the little waiting room was cramped and noisy. However, the longest I have ever waited is 20 minutes. Not bad for a bustling practice with lots of pregnant women. read more
