Stylist Jade overlapped highlights and severely damaged my hair. I now have extreme breakage/hair loss. The quality of my hair now is very dry and there is chemical haircut and uneven from it. She put too many highlights for my hair type which is fine and curly. Now I have fewer and drier curls. i had a full head of soft curls before the appointment. The salon and staff are all very nice including Jade. I just got a very bad service for my hair. I told the salon about it but they didn't offer any refund I paid for a conditioning treatment from someone else, but it doesn't help the damage done. read more

A friend and I hoofed it to every salon downtown for a pedi. It was a Thursday and all were full. We were about to give up and just go to a place with no massage chairs (ugh) but luckily I peeped in the window of this place (it didn't show up on Yelp for some reason)...Houston, they have massage chairs!!! I swung open the door and asked if they had time for two...they said yes! I'm pretty sure they were on their last appointment of the night, they stayed open late for us. Anyway the point of my review is to let you know that our foot massages were almost ten minutes per foot!! Omg they were divine!! I frequent TYM for gel manicures and pedicures and they are always amazing and long lasting. I once had a bad hair experience at another salon, came to TYM and they fixed me up with a rejuvenating hair conditioning treatment & low lights that got my damaged hair back to normal. The stylists and assistants never fail to be helpful and accommodating. They are up to date on the newest styles and trends. I have rarely left unsatisfied. I'm in a touring musical and needed a spray tan for the show tomorrow because I was looking extra pale. I came here despite the bad review because no one else in the area had appointments today. Should have taken that as a sign. This was the worst, most uneven spray tan I have ever received. They only had one shade. The girl doing it couldn't have cared less. Horrible. I got my hair done yesterday and my card was charged $8! They said that was the fee to charge it! I was charged $280 to get foils for my shoulder length hair! The owner was belligerent, screeching and yelling much of the time. Everything is entirely too overpriced. Never again! read more

They work magic there! They are so kind offering drinks and snacks and always making you feel so welcome there. On top of this I also get my facials, waxing, and nails done there and have no complaints about any of my services. Every girl I have ever seen there is truly amazing and no matter where I live, I will continue to travel back to this town just to get my hair done at this shop. Worst hair cut and service I have ever received. The person who did my hair was very nice so I won't call her out on here, but people were crammed in for their appointments. Lots of customers, not everyone, seemed very frustrated with their appointment starting late. We were being crammed through like an assembly line. The girl who cut my hair was not the girl who washed it. The girl who washed it was also nice, but didn't even wash my hair well. The underneath portion was still dry! My hair cut itself was something I could have gotten at a barber shop. My bangs are ridiculously short and uneven. To give me layers, she took thinning sheets to my ends! My scalp was still wet when I left, and she took a flat iron to my entire hair, not sections, in order to smooth it. And that was all for $110. I am appalled and embarrassed for them actually. Enter at your own risk, but don't say I didn't warn you. read more

I spent over 3 hours here, to be charged for things that the owner didn't even ask me if I wanted done. After throwing in her 2 cents I ended up leaving with something I originally didn't want. I was not about to stick around even longer to have them "fix" what they screwed up in the first place. I felt cheated and over charged. I hadn't gotten a great impression from this place because it looks pretty tacky from the outside but I thought that since I needed to get my eyebrows done and I usually go to Holiday Hair or Supercuts it should be fine, I was wrong! This was the worst experience I have ever had getting my eyebrows done by far. I walked in and the 5 people working there acted like I was interrupting something. There were no prices listed for services and I just asked if they did eyebrows and they said yes and proceeded to lead me to a chair. I told the woman what I wanted and she didn't really say anything and acted confused and I clarified a little more and she still acted a little confused but started waxing so I assumed she knew what she was doing. I had to ask her to fix them a few times and she still didn't understand but I didn't want her to do anymore because she was clearly inexperienced so I just said it was fine but I could tell she wasn't happy with how they looked either. Overall pretty horrible experience, I really don't know if she had ever done eyebrows before. Steer clear of this place even for anything as simple as eyebrows. read more

This appears to be a very good place to get hair services done but anything to do with your eyelashes seems to be a different story. I had an eyelash perm done around Christmas done that made my eyelashes stick straight out. I was told that for some reason my eyelashes didn't react to the perm solution correctly. The girl said she would give it another try buy couldn't make any promises. $30 down the drain. She suggested eyelash extensions and after I saved up for costly procedure I made an appointment. Kelly, who had also done the eyelash perm, was friendly and seemed well pleased with her job after it was done. Considering I couldn't have my contacts in at the time I did not get a real good look until I left. I had told Kelly that I couldn't see well and she assured me that they looked "AWESOME". When I got me contacts back in I was shocked. They were crocked and there were a lot more on one eye than the other. Some were even upside down. By the time I called Kelly was gone and would not be back in for 3 days. I work with the public and cannot go to work looking like that. What a mess !! I had paid $150 for the service and now had to make a trip over 60 miles away and paying another $75 to get them removed. I have ended up with almost no lashes left at all. I did get ahold of her 3 days later when she was in again and requested a refund (I would have settled for a partial refund) but she said she thought the looked good and would have to asked the business owner about any refund. I would hear from her the next day. I have not heard a word at all. This is bad business. Anyone can have bad day at work and not perform well but ignoring the issue is wrong. I should have been offered a refund of some type. Word of mouth goes a long way and this was not clear thinking on the part of this salon owner. The place where I got them removed stated that there was no way possible that the person who had applied them was certified and that it had all the signs of a self-taught application. I went to a microblading appointment with Mallory a few days ago and have been debating whether or not to write this review. The appointment didn't go further than mapping my eyebrows out. Mallory refused to do my eyebrows the shape I like and wanted- instead she gave me a new shape that made me look like a completely different person. I was unhappy with the shape and told her politely that i'd like it if my brow was shaped differently and offered to pull up pictures of myself and my brows. While she said she was willing to work with me to reach a compromise, i felt like my input was completely disregarded. I ended up crying during the appointment. She let me draw some of my own eyebrow out with pigment for our "compromise" but then wiped my shape away and went back to the shape she wanted to do on me. Mallory told me I was going through a phase with my eyebrows, but the most hurtful part was that she said my eyebrows weren't flattering on me the way i drew them on and that's why she would be uncomfortable microblading me. Just a little bit of advice- when you are charging people $450 for a service, you should listen to the customer! especially when it is semi-permanent (going on their FACE) and when they already put $200 down before the appointment. Whether Mallory liked the way I choose to do my eyebrows should not have influenced her decision to work on me- I am the one who lives with them. Disappointing because she does beautiful work and i was looking forward to getting them done. I left the salon in tears. read more
