We met them initially for a consultation and quote, and during this time Phoebe and the team were extremely thorough, answering any questions we had and taking their time going through the type of work they provide. After seeing their style and comparing them with a few other local vendors we knew they were the right fit for us. I also wanted to minimize the number of overall vendors i worked with, so by Hera being a full-serviced film company where i could get all of this in one place was a plus for me. Communication was clear and easy throughout the planning process and they were very accommodating with any changes. They took the time to know us as a couple, which showed clearly through the photos and videos they took. Josh, our photographer, made us also feel very comfortable during our photography sessions which was a huge deal, considering we're not the natural type of couples when it comes to these things! On your wedding day you get caught up with so many things that sometimes you aren't able to see and absorb everything at that moment in time, and Hera was able to capture those moments of my friends and family when i wasn't there to see it myself. LL was very responsive to get back to us and was even more accommodating with scheduling. We had to change the time and dates are few times, once due to us and the other time, she was sick. We booked an outdoor shoot but ended up going to her studio when it began to rain. LL was again very accommodating and offered to reschedule if we had set our hearts on an outdoor shoot. We decided to go ahead with the indoor location was we had booked the time off already and it was just easier to get it done. LL was great with my 3 kids who had a wonderful time being silly. We had our pre-wedding photoshoot done with Charlie's Studio and we absolutely love all the…read morepictures! Our experience with them was super great right from the start. Ivy was very helpful and thorough with explaining how the whole process works and showed us all the different packages that they offer. We did look at a few other studios as well, but ultimately picked Charlies because they aligned best with what we were looking for. We chose the "Prime Collection" package which included everything we needed and the pricing roughly aligned with the other studios we visited. Communication was very prompt and professional during the entire process! We chose to have our photoshoot during April to capture the cherry blossoms. Unfortunately, the cherry blossoms bloomed early this year so we missed the prime window, but that was entirely our own fault because Ivy was very organized and did try to rebook us to an earlier date. Regardless, we still got all the photos that we wanted. Picking out the dress rentals was also a super fun experience. They have so many gorgeous wedding gowns and evening gowns to choose from and I was able to find exactly what I was looking for. Their selection of wedding gowns was definitely better than the evening gowns though, but luckily, they had a new arrival that I absolutely loved! The new arrival had an additional surcharge which was a little bit annoying but it was still worth it. They were able to alter both dresses to fit me perfectly for the shoot. Just before the photoshoot day, we were informed that there wouldn't actually be an assistant with us to help me change into the dress and swap out hair accessories, but we could add one for an additional $150 charge. This was the only negative aspect of our entire interaction with them, because I wish they were more transparent about it from the beginning. Everything else went very smoothly. I got to request my wedding makeup artist and used this photoshoot as my hair and makeup trial. The photographer and the photographer assistant were super nice and friendly and gave very clear directions throughout the day. They're also super familiar with all the best photo spots and we had a great time during our photo session. We got our edited photos back promptly around 3 weeks after the photoshoot and it was way more pictures than we expected, so that was super nice. Our fine touch-up photos were ready about a week after we made our selections and we have no complaints! Definitely recommend working with Charlie's Studio :)

In the studio, everything seemed great. The photographer was professional and courteous. But after…read morethe photos are taken, the experience quickly deteriorates to the point you feel somewhat held hostage by unfair business practices. The first red flag was that in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic, the photographer was not willing to share watermarked photos, so we could select which ones to purchase. We were forced to come into the studio. This consequently meant our family members who were interested in the photos never even got to see them in any form, because they couldn't make it to the studio during C-19. Even worse, we wanted digital copies to share with family, and Tamara said she'd share them if we paid $300 per print. She was unwilling to sell digital photos on their own, at any price. We bought 3 photo prints and our digital copies were sent to us with large watermarks. $300 won't even get you an un-watermarked digital copy of one photo. The photos were well-taken, but the print quality is average at best. There are much better photography experiences in Vancouver and businesses that won't penalize you for having family you'd like to share digital copies with.
