I had two consultations with her, one was 2 weeks before I went in for my appointment and the other right before my appointment in which I showed her many pictures, even an AI version of myself with the color of hair I was looking for. I wanted something apricot blonde, brighter, and lighter than what I had going on. And she assured me she knew exactly what I was going for and would "order a special Demi gloss that was Golden" to use on my hair." This made me feel like she knew what she was doing, even though I was still hesitant as I'm new to the area. When I went in for my appointment, again, I showed her the picture and we discussed what the plan for my hair was, including adding layers. We used the words, Sunkissed, warm, golden, apricot, BLONDE, light and bright, etc......what I got was unfortunately the complete opposite. She tried to sell me on it at the end of 4 1/2 hours and almost $300. She even took me outside to show me how "golden" it was with a mirror although I couldn't quite see what she was talking about. She told me since it was a Demi gloss that it would wash out and the strawberry color used (not the alleged golden gloss she claimed she ordered for me) would pick up the highlights that were put in before the gloss. I thought this might be true and after a few washes, I might be getting closer to what I came in for. Usually, after I get my hair done, I am inundated with compliments. Since getting it done and seeing my friends and colleagues, I have had absolutely zero comments on my hair - almost like they were trying to avoid talking about it. The only comment I got was "what made you want to dye your hair brown?" Again, this is the complete opposite of what I went in for. I am a natural dirty blonde, I've always had my hair blonde, and I identify as blonde. Over the past few months as I've been waiting for the Demi gloss to wash out, it's been a hard adjustment to viewi myself as brunette. Not because there's anything wrong with it, just because it's not who I am or how I see myself and not flattering on my complexion. Again, just be very careful before booking here. If you are trying to cover Gray's and simply just want a reddish brownish hue this is probably the place to go, otherwise I would go somewhere with more experienced and attuned stylists. To go from showing her the picture of what I wanted to what I walked out with is just completely missing the mark big time. Oh, and the layers? I got a trim. I wouldn't go back here... ever. and wouldn't trust the stylist to fix or redo. what happened. So now I am left trying to find someone who will actually achieve the results I want. I'm going through and have been going through a tough time in life for the past 2 to 3 years and haven't touched my hair. Even though I haven't touched my hair or stepped in a salon, I've still gotten compliments on my long beautiful ombré blonde hair. I look at pictures from before I went in and ask myself what was I thinking? I wish I left it alone as it was much closer to what I wanted! I was hoping for something uplifting and bright to bring me into a new chapter of hope in my life. but instead I got something dark, depressing, and again- just completely not what I wanted. It's just hair, and compared to what I've been going through. I try to remind myself that, but let's be honest, it's disappointing. Be careful here.
