We own a boutique hair salon in Downtown Danville and after getting several harassing phone calls from a weirdo, we decided to get some self-defense training for our entire staff, as we truly consider them all family. So the search began for a reputable trainer...and it went on for over a week just trying to get someone to call us back! Then I realized, why not try looking for a great instructor on Yelp? And that's where we found Rod Scott! He promptly returned our call on a Friday morning and scheduled a private session with all of our stylists for that following Monday morning! Rod was 10-minutes early and did the training at our location, so he could see what challenges our specific location posed from a security perspective. I never would have thought of this, but as Rod explained, it doesn't make much sense to hold self-defense classes in a gym or studio environment, when instead he can come to your location and see things through the eyes of an attacker and then educate you on how to defend yourself accordingly! Our 3-hour class was incredible and all of our stylists left with the same high level of confidence that they are now empowered to protect themself in any situation. I should point out that in addition to Rod teaching you all of the various physical aspects, strategic moves and pressure points that will fend off a would-be attacker, he also does 1 hour of common sense interactive lecture that really opens your eyes to how to eliminate yourself as a target in the first place and how to be MUCH more aware of your surroundings than what you are now...even if you thought you already were aware, trust me! Bottom line, if you are truly interested in the best self-defense training available for yourself or someone you care about, then give Rod Scott a call.
