Big Shout Out!! Last week a day after hurricane Debby my…read morehusband was waiting for me in the driveway~he came in the house asking me how long~I told him I'd be right out. Then as he went back out to get in the truck, he saw this horrific site of a monster pine tree that had "just" fallen from our front pasture and taken out two fences blocking the driveway. If I had not been delayed, we would have been driving out in the path of the fallen tree~ so the story is "God showed up"! so with faith I made a post that night on Lutz Community saying what happened and if anyone would be willing to help out if possible..a reply came quickly by the greatest company~Heights Tree Service~the owners name is Dave. He told me to call him which I did and next thing I knew his company came out, trimmed up the tree got it out of the driveway and then took away all the debris working into the night working in between clients! Dave's team were all professionals and wonderful to be around. I highly recommend this company their professional , personable, and most of all the owner keeps his WORD! We selected Landscapians for a large project based on all the 5 star reviews given. In total we spent over $8,000 with them. Communication was a constant issue. We'd have team members show up unannounced requesting access to the garage sprinkler system to having multiple text strings stating someone would be here on X day only for them not to show up. Additionally, the crew did not have someone onsite managing the project and had several questions I had to help with. Thankfully I work from home and was able to be present for much of these pop up requests and changes but if you are not readily available this would be very difficult for a homeowner. There were several errors in billing. Homeowners beware, Adrian will tell you one thing verbally but when it's time to settle he will forget those conversations. Make sure you get EVERYTHING in writing. We had 3 double foxtail palms installed along our fence line. We told Adrian it was very important these were all of similar size since they were being placed next to one another. Unfortunately, one of the palms was much smaller than the other 2. While we should have declined that tree we ultimately accepted it as Adrian said they had gone to multiple nurseries and he couldn't find 3 that matched. The crew did not trim the excess weed barrier at the edging so when my Husband went to weed whack the frays of the weed barrier continually got stuck in his equipment. He spent quite a bit of time cutting this out from the blades. 6 weeks after the project was completed, Adrian's team did a full trim of all bushes. Unfortunately they left a substantial amount of trimmings in the garden beds we had just paid $1,500 to have remulched. Adrian's response was they have since purchased drop cloths. The last month of our service we only received 1 mow and did not have our grass treated. Adrian"s response was they had a new virtual assistant who was getting up to speed and failed to put us on the schedule. Adrian also said they do not manage weeds (what were we paying $75 monthly for??). Adrian said he would personally come out and would give ample notice. I received a text from Adrian on a Sunday morning that he would be at our house in 10 minutes. This was frustrating as we were getting ready to setup a blowup pool in our backyard and were not prepared for the grass to be treated that day. When I said something to Adrian he said we could find a new landscaper and called me a Karen. This was extremely unprofessional as I had never been rude or disrespectful in anyway. My Husband overheard this conversation and asked Adrian to leave. Adrian then threatened my Husband physically and said "I'll take you right here". Even after this incident I still did not leave a review. The final straw happened recently when one of the foxtail palms (the smallest one that we should have declined) unfortunately died. I emailed Landscapians respectfully asking if we could come to a fair solution on a replacement as Adrian verbally told me warranties were included. I even asked about a credit being established with the nursery and we could handle ourselves. Unfortunately both of my emails were ignored. I saw Adrian in our neighborhood the following week and told him about the tree. He responded saying we'd have to be on their monthly plan to have it warrantied and "that's just how it works". How can we be on your monthly plan when you cancelled us? Homeowners, I would be very careful hiring this company. They have since sold off the mowing part of their business to another company as they were struggling to keep up and are now only doing project work. From what I've heard, they also had much of their team walk off the job and I'd imagine that's largely in part to Adrian and his aggressive nature. Hopefully Adrian will improve on his customer service as our experience was far from the 5 star reviews listed.
