I cannot say enough good things about this caregiving service. My father came home from a skilled nursing facility needing some additional support while he continued to recover medically. At first, we arranged companion care, which included medication reminders, transportation to appointments, and, just as importantly, having someone there to keep him company. As he improved and became more independent, the agency was able to adjust the level of care accordingly. We eventually moved to On Demand Care, primarily for transportation to appointments. I really appreciated that the care evolved with his needs rather than keeping him at a level of service he no longer required. The flexibility to adjust the care as his needs changed was incredibly valuable to us. Most of the caregivers were people he genuinely liked. They were consistently on time, respectful, helpful, and patient with him. Some personalities were a better fit than others, which is natural, but overall he was comfortable with them. I know he would be happy to see many of them if he ran into them out in public. What gave me the most peace of mind was knowing that the caregivers had been vetted through the agency and that I had someone to turn to if an issue ever came up. I communicated with the agency by text, phone, and email, and they were consistently responsive, respectful, and timely. If I had a concern or needed something addressed, they communicated with the caregiver directly. I never felt like I was left to figure things out on my own. I will admit that I was a little unsure in the beginning because of how professional they were. I have been disappointed and, frankly, burned by service providers in the past, so I was cautious. But this agency turned out to be the most prompt, punctual, and professional agency I have ever worked with. Bringing an elderly parent home after a skilled nursing stay can be stressful, and having a reliable caregiving agency made a tremendous difference for us. I am very grateful for the support they provided, the flexibility they showed as my father recovered, and the peace of mind of knowing that there was a professional and responsive team behind the caregivers. I hired and paid Tandem Care to drive me to a critical medical procedure. They agreed to pick me up at 6:30 am and they called me to cancel at 6:15 am. How do you maintain a true level of respect for this place if your HR Director schedules appointments that she doesn't have the decency to keep or call to cancel? YOU ARE THE ONE WHO SENT THE INVITE. It's okay to switch up, but to have someone set aside time for you is completely unprofessional if you don't plan to host the meeting. She didn't respond to email or phone call as a reminder. The call went to voice mail and a message was left. By the way, she was dry and late for the 1st meeting without an apology or explanation (a red flag) from the beginning. The HR Director is the wrong person to represent you, unless you hired a family member as a favor. This person needs a high-level of adequate HR training. I met with Bree in November of 2022 regarding assistance for my Aunt who has Parkinson's Disease and needed assistance with daily chores and daily living skills including showering and dressing in her apartment. I have worked with other caregiving companies before and the quality of the caregivers from Tandem is above and beyond most other companies in LA. The Tandem caregivers are very well trained, patient and compassionate and attuned to all my aunt's needs. Also, the caregivers were able to adjust to my aunt's changing needs for more assistance in the home and did so with compassion and care. The Operations team including Zylandia and Doreen are also wonderful. Our family has been very pleased that Tandem can provide two hours of care in the mornings and two hours of care in the afternoon, a flexibility few if any caregiving companies in LA are able to offer. My only issue with Tandem is that any visit over two hours at a time has to be booked a week in advance although on two occasions, they did make an exception and took my aunt to both an MD appointment and Urgent Care. Overall, I have had a very good experience with Tandem and I would highly recommend them to a friend or family member. read more

I enrolled my mother in Tandem's monthly membership program and I can't say enough on how amazing this program is!! Our experience with caregiving in the past was less than ideal. Very expensive, there were hourly minimum requirements that were difficult to fit with her needs and all the caregivers we dealt with were rude and I felt they spent a lot of their day sitting on their phones which was frustrating with how much we were paying. My mom was very tentative at first but Tandem's caregivers were so kind and attentive, she very quickly became attached. My mind is at ease knowing she is being checked on throughout the day and she feels more independent rather than feeling like she's being babysat. It's not often I take time to write reviews. It's got to be a really good or a really bad situation for me to want to put words on 'paper' that will directly affect the bottom line of a business or service. In the case of Tandem Careplanning, I'm very happy to say this was not only an extremely positive experience (I dared not say amazing or awesome because we're dealing with heavy subjects here but if appropriate I would have), but one that stands in a class all it's own. Tandem Careplanning came to me when searching for end of life care for a very dear friend. I found them on Yelp, although I truly believe they found me. It started with a very warm welcome from Natalie, who paid close attention to my story, my friend's story, and the crazy kind of set up we were looking to accomplish, while trying to kidnap him out of this horrific long term care facility he was trapped in. Everything of course being extremely difficult to navigate because of the Covid-19 pandemic. I was then contacted by Maureen, another very warm woman, who just knew all the right questions to ask and made me feel very at ease for what I know to be a very stressful situation. She tells me 'I got you.' And ya know what, I believed her. Maureen did not disappoint. She put her thinking cap on and brought in another head of a care giving team to partner with in this search to build the perfect hybrid situation my friend so desperately needed. This other person Maureen brought in contacted me and again was extremely warm, caring, and knowledgeable. She also said something so poignant -- that in this business she always deals with everyone trying to cut themselves into the deal, force you to use certain care givers, lock down their commissions, etc. But this woman said Maureen was different. She said Maureen was willing to forego any commissions or compensation whatsoever just to make sure my friend got what he needed without sparing or substituting anything. Maureen said if her team or part of it would be good then great. If not, she demanded my friend get the best of what he needed even if it meant cutting her out completely. Well Maureen sure was right. And this new member of the team brought others in that were able to navigate all the obstacles. Each day, I got to update my friend letting him know these angels in his outfield were working night and day to get him home and cared for in a loving way. These updates ushered in new hope, bringing a smile to his longing face (even if it was only through FaceTime that I could see him as no visits were allowed during the pandemic). Maureen made sure I was constantly updated and always kept everyone connected and in the loop. Again for someone who has dealt with this kind of thing many many times for loved ones and friends in the past, it's always some degree of nightmare dealing with the caregiving situation. I mean some nightmares are less stressful than others, but they're still nightmares. Dealing with Tandem was unlike anyone in this business I've ever dealt with. They are truly special. And they are built with folks who know how broken the system is and want to do anything to help fix it. The unfortunate ending to this story is my friend never made it home. After all the work Tandem and their partners did to prepare, it was all for not. Which just broke my heart. My friend's health took a quick turn and he was gone before we knew it. I called Tandem and insisted I be billed for their time and efforts, even though I never even got to use their amazing caregivers. I did of course utilize their incredible knowledge and services to get to the point we got to. They told me no services were rendered, therefore no bill would be coming. I told them they're crazy. Time is a service rendered. Effort is a service rendered. Knowledge is a service rendered. Actual love and true care are services rendered. But that's not how they feel about it. They feel these are everyday human traits we should all give to one another. And they know that energy will ultimately lead to more healing, and more success for everyone. I rarely write YELP reviews but was drawn to doing this one because of the outstanding service we've received from Tandem. My 87 year old father, who has Alzheimers disease, was hospitalized for COVID in December of 2020. When he was release from the hospital, we needed full time caregivers at his assisted living facility because he was a fall risk and was very ill. I started with another agency which was great, but over the top expensive. When I saw the costs mounting, I needed another alternative, but was worried the quality of care would go down. My friend recommended me to Tandem, I called over the weekend and they were immediately responsive and so very kind. They heard what we needed, found two beyond wonderful caregivers and we started right away. I absolutely love our caregivers now and feel like they go above and beyond to make my father not only safe but very very happy. Working with this agency has been an absolute pleasure and whenever I need to ask a question or tweak something, they are so available and kind.
