This is our second trip to this establishment as we do like Indian food. The vegetarian sampler platter was excellent and their vegetable pakora was on point. The Malai kofta to us was not as traditional as we typically have. The service was good and it was not busy. Food came rather quickly. We would try other dishes when we return to this restaurant. Lamb Dahl gost- lamb was perfection. You do yourself a favour if you get some pompados and some chai with whatever delight you order. What a wonderful find on our first night in "Steel Town" - Sault Ste. Marie, Ont. We did a little exploring of the town, watched the sun set on the bridge, and then drove downtown to see what food sounded best and was locally offered. We love Indian food and decided to try Tandoori Gardan. The restaurant is small and very casual, but it was clean and the staff seemed relaxed and friendly. The minute we stepped in the door, we could smell that this was going to be delicious! We all ordered mango lassies, that may have been the best we've ever had. It was a challenge not to gulp it down! We then had meat samosas that were absolutely perfect. There are three pieces to an order, so it was perfect for us. The wrapper was light and flakey - but it didn't fall apart, even with all the meat that was waiting inside. My husband ordered Lamb Biryani and it was as special as it should be. It was perfect! The lamb was tender and the rice was nicely seasoned. Our son had the Beef Mughlai that melted in your mouth, and I had my favorite, Butter Chicken. We couldn't decide what was best! And then we had a bite of the garlic naan. OMG! I've never had better naan! The entire meal was incredibly good. This is one of those special places where you have a difficult time stopping eating. We left incredibly full. The staff was lovely. Liz even took time to give us an insider's guide to two days in the Soo. There was plenty of room in the restaurant, as the locals streamed in steadily for take out. Another sign that the great food wasn't a fluke. Best way to start a visit to a new city! 4 of us went out for dinner Sunday night. 2 of us hadn't tried Indian food before but the other 2 have eaten it from Montreal to Vancouver and even out of the country. We were all very impressed. The experienced ones said it was some of the best they've ever eaten and the other 2 enjoyed it as well. The server was very friendly and helpful. He explained what the dishes were if we asked and gave us some recommendations. Went so far on one dish to say if we didn't like it, he'd pay for it. It was excellent. The Naan was soooo good. Very tired after camping and driving from eastern Ontario, we were looking for something different than meat and potatoes. The Yelp search produced a few choices and this was the one we liked best. The food and service here are quite good. Our servers were very friendly and patient with the inexperienced diners at a nearby table. In one review I read, I saw that the naan was "one of the best anywhere". I was skeptical on this but came away agreeing with him/her. We ordered chicken jalfrazi and saag to eat with our naan. The jalfrazi was a little different than those I've had elsewhere but quite good and reasonably spicy. The saag was excellent. If I lived here I would be a regular customer. read more

We really enjoy this place. A variety of different flavours for mild to spicy. My favourite is the Lamb Vindaloo. Very spicy and great with their rice. Next level Indian food. Never would've imagined we'd find this gem on our way through Sault Ste Marie.

The waitress was nice. The interior doesn't look too Indian, but OK, and maybe because we did not see any Indian employees.. The food, we ordered samosas and naan and rice all as usual. But only 2 samosas came for 4 people-servers should ask to clarify how many are wanted. The chicken tikka masala, well, not what we expected. I've eaten in a LOT of Indian restaurants from literally Toronto to Tokyo. Chicken tikka masala should have a lot of creamy sauce, as in you can put sauce on your rice and dip your naan in it (the naan should be hot, but here the naan came out just warm and quickly got cold). Well, this had barely enough sauce to cover the chicken. And very large amounts of onion accompanying the chicken, to my great annoyance. Some might be OK, but this was like half an onion...and the other bowl had no onion but a ton of green pepper. I've never noticed either in this dish. So in all, just OK. read more

So glad we came here for dinner. This small and cozy restaurant serves up some delicious Indian cuisine! The server was attentive and gracious. It was a pleasure to dine here. I am very picky about my chicken biriyani and this restaurant did not disappoint me! Do wish it came with a small side of raita rather than having me order a full order of raita. And do wish they offered thali at night rather than with lunch specials during the day, but all in all we were pleased with our selections and would definitely recommend.
