The shop owner was so friendly and kind after overhearing that I was from OOT. They suggested a few great places to visit while being in the area so I certainly bookmarked them and plan on visiting. They have a wide array of outdoor items from coolers, tumbers, to backpacks. What really drew me in was their selection of little knickknacks that were rite up my alley! I purchased a few items and walked out happy with my purchases! Fortunately they also have an online store so I can get whatever I wanted in store but had no room in my carry on bags!

It showed the various " hip" merchandise of that era, seemingly quite revolutionary and different!! The owner was a very liberal minded charismatic female. I think she was from either New York or Los Angeles. She felt I was perfect, as a Black young female, to do the commercial during a time when it was quite unpopular. I recall doing the commercial in a long full Latina skirt and western boots, in full Southwestern garb!I I was spinning and twirling in free dance. It ended ( finally) with me looking straight into the camera. We had to do several takes because it seemed the camera man did not want to capture my face. When he played back the edit, it showed his avoiding featuring me and only picking up traces or hints I was somewhere in the mix. When I advised the owner she wasted no time reminding him she was paying for it and had him capture my whole body and face in full expressive glory!! She was bold to have done so! I think she knew the social logistics but felt it was time for social change! If I am not mistaken I think it was Arkansas' first Black commercial sponsored by a Caucasian-owned retail store!! A proud moment in time... history was made!! I would love a copy to show my grandchildren and my current celebrity granddaughter, as well as my nieces and nephews why I have been so adamant about " passion" for life!! Thanks Armadillo's Hand. You made Civil Rights history without knowing you did... so did NBC!! Owner guaranteed that I would be happy with the finished products or he would make it right, but…read morewon't back it up. He assured me they could make all the repairs needed and provide the highest quality of workmanship. Instead of the professionally repaired and reupholstered furniture he contracted to do, I received a still-broken sofa bed and totally substandard quality of upholstery work on it and two recliners. The new upholstery was sloppily applied without even removing the old upholstery and adding new foam and cushioning as was our agreement. He would not respond when I contacted him several via phone calls, emails, and messages through his website. So I'm out $3,000.00 and the furniture is in the garage since it's too unbearable to look at. I am filing claims, but it is a long and exhaustive process without any surety of positive results. My third experience was the third strike. I was told 3 months and waited 16 months to get my furniture back. Yes, you read that right. Sixteen months. They told me at 8 months my fabric was cut and ready. They told me at 12 months it would be the next week. They told me at 14 months it would be the next week. I finally got ugly and two weeks later I was able to pick up my furniture.

I'm from Nashville, TN where there is real southern hospitality and greetings are a standard when someone walks into a place of business. Anyway, besides the ridiculous first encounter I had with the two lovely ladies who were supposedly employees, they have a fantastic selection of boots. I ended up getting a pair despite such a distaste for the quality of service due to me falling in love with a pair of Ariats. Overall, Crossroads has a wonderful selection but poor customer service.
