If you have come to the beautiful Smokey Mountains to go shopping well the Tanger Outlet Center is the place to do it. Keep in mind that not all of the stores are outlets. The ones that actually are outlets are clearly marked on the sign. The best deals I found here were at the Kirkland's & Banana Republic outlets. They also have a Coach outlet if that is your kind of thing. Do beware that this place is often crowded with tourists. Parking was designed by chimpanzees. There is such limited parking space in front of the stores and there's not very clear signage on where the anchor stores are located so be prepared for mass hysteria during busier seasons. I witnessed a semi-severe confrontation when Jethro in his beat up ford...escort, got cut-off and beat to a spot in front of Starbucks. Hell hath no fury like a caffeine riddled redneck. This is a Factory Outlet mall for major retailers. Do not expect to find any high-fashion stores. There's about 50 stores so it is a smaller mall. My family spent the morning at this TO on 7-9-17. Being much bigger than the TO near our home, there was a lot of walking to do. Good Points; Many snack and restaurant choices. Great variety of stores. Bad Points: The only 2 stores that actually had great prices were The Children's Place and Rue 21 because they are going out of business nationally. The rest either had no real sales (Toys R Us and Lids) or were overly expensive to start with. Stroller Rentals: We rented a stroller for FREE but after getting a $10 one-time TO membership. It was worth it. I would suggest that there needs to be return stations around the shopping complex so one can return the stroller closer to his/her car. TO Membership: You get a coupon book but almost all of them are useless unless you are spending at least $50 in a store. You do get points towards rewards when the office processes your receipts. Suggestions/Warnings If You Go Here: -Bring your walking shoes. -Bring your own water to drink. Drinks are pricey. -Stroller rentals are $5 without a TO membership. read more

Visited Gatlinburg over the Palm Sunday weekend and stopped by Tanger Outlet to see what's new. With the promotional coupon for an Tanger Outlet Coupon Book and their 25% OFF Spring Coupon - at selected stores - I, unexpectedly, was able to save some money on shoes and apparel at the Merrell Shoes, New Balance and Columbia stores. Product and size selections at each store were plentiful. Most products were current models and first quality. Doing an online price comparison - using free WiFi - proved that the savings are real. This is not always the case - caveat emptor! Customer Service was excellent at each store which made the shopping experience even better. Glad to see that Tanger Outlets in Sevierville, TN is able to maintain a high level of shopping experience over the years. While shopping here will not always save you money, you will get to see some great products at name brand stores in one general location. The layout and parking here is why we do not visit often. Ashville Outlets are about the same distance for us and a much better mall. The parking spaces here are too small for most of your newer trucks and SUVs. Being in the south you would think they would accommodate the bigger trucks. If you don't like to walk a lot then you better come in the dead winter. In the summer it's hard to find parking and you have to walk far away to other stores. Mall is spread out with parking in the middle. Hard to park and just walk around. Also, crosswalks are very confusing. Some cars do not stop. And a safety issue I seen was there are NO SPEED BUMPS! As much walking on the street that you have to do here you would think there would be SPEED BUMPS! read more

The area is very nice and safe in my opinion, and you can even go to the customer service building to get a free coupon book with actual good deals! There is such a variety of shopping, and most customer service in each store was great. I even received the best customer service I had ever had in Francesca's. Jennifer at Gymboree was great! The other girl greeted me first but did not seem interested in helping me find matches or sizes but then Jennifer came over when she saw I was putting a sweater over a dress and started helping me find what worked. I left there with 4 mix and match outfits with even shoes to match! Thanks Jennifer! The Tommy Hilfiger store employees acted like I was in their way with all their tasks. I found the polos on sale for 15 each and helped myself find 2 of those sizes folded beneath an then I stood at the 6 empty registers while they all pretended not to notice that I wanted to be rung up. I left the 2 shirts and went out the door. Its OK, you don't have to wait on me. I can just leave without those. read more

Very nice outside mall. Has a ton of regular stores so and a good variety of outlet stores. So ultimately, there is something here for everyone. It's pretty darn busy so it must have some good sales. Love these outlets, but watch what time of the year you go. We went the week after Christmas and it was crazy, way to crowded for me. Couldn't hardly look for so many people. It was a nice day to be outside,so I found the ice cream shop now that was a nice treat. Now I will tell you this is one big outlet mall,it didn't look this large from the road. But once you get up in here it kinda grows so have some good walking shoes on. Dropped by Tanger on Friday night and Saturday afternoon. Friday night was busy, but light enough that I had no trouble finding a parking spot. I'm pretty sure everyone in Tennessee was there on Saturday afternoon. Finding a parking spot took us 10 minutes, and the line in the Coach store was ridiculous. There had to be at least 30 people in line! While they had a great deal of 50% off, it wasn't worth it to spend an hour in line. A variety of shops with nice walkways. Decent parking, although the place was packed. Finding the admin office to get our free coupon book was a real pain because it's almost hidden. FYI, if you don't have a coupon for the free booklet, you can get your Tanger coupon booklet for free by showing your AAA card. We only used one coupon in the book, but it was a nice discount on an already discounted item. I'd happily go here again. read more

There is a lot to do here, so many shops and decent prices. But if you're a shopaholic and you're in the area, you must make this a stop on your shopping tour. Not so much about t shirts and cheap stuff, but more about outlet stores and good quality merchandise. This is a good place to buy stuff for Christmas too, there are a lot of good restaurants nearby as well so why not get your shopping done before you go out to eat. During Christmas they have a lot of nice lights in the area too, which is like runway lights marking your way to a great shopping center. For the area, you won't find much better. read more

Pidgeon Forge, on a holiday weekend. Traffic is awful. They close at 7 pm. I am watching crowds of people wanting to spend money. There are staff inside that just tell people to go away, because they are closed. As a businessman, if I had people still wanting to spend money and I wasn't breaking any laws; the doors would be open. One random person no, but as I write this, at least 20 customers have been turned away. I'm glad your business is so good that you can turn away $100's away. read more

I tend not to be the type of person who shops for enjoyment but my kids needed a few things for school and I figured it was worth a shot. I assumed parking would be horrible. It wasn't to difficult to find parking although that could have been because it was a weekday. Some outlets tend to be far to overcrowded, this was not the case. We started by Starbucks and ended up where we started as the outlet is almost shaped like a big U. I liked the mixture of stores. Stores that I would shop at. Often I visit outlets and don't go into more than half the shops. It wasn't the case at this one. The stores were also clean and neat. I figured being in the center of a tourist town such as P. Forge it would be messy in most shops. Found really great deals on things I was looking for. Was really pleased with my visit overall. read more
