This course used to be one of my favorites but it seems to have lost its uniqueness! I went last months for a quick 18, it's was reasonably priced but the course was in worse 3.5/5 condition. The greens were punched I understand this is something that has to take place but it really was disappointing. Maybe send guys out on the other 9 holes.... I will play here again but it's no longer on my top metro Detroit course list. Still a good course and fun to play read more

Hosted my baby shower this past weekend here turned out really nice. Mark is super nice and helpful to work with. The guests loved the mimosa bar and variety of breakfast foods. The place was spacious for a shower. read more

I used to golf in a league here 20 plus years ago, and haven't played much since. Played the past few weeks and had a great time. The west course is more challenging than the south. The food in the clubhouse was very good and a really good waitstaff. read more

For what they charge it get's two stars. Wide open with houses on every hole not a very interesting design. Used to play quite a bit however Links of Novi is a much better option. No houses on course, cost less, better condition and they are much more friendly read more

Like the course. Decent pricing. HOWEVER, they book tee times every 5 min, and don't know how to keep a rate of play. This is bizarre. On a Friday afternoon at 2, we waited 15 min on the tee box. And 5 min every tee thereafter. Having a pace is a HOAX here. Will come back if I can play through my round. read more

For a community golf course it is in poor shape. Greens are poor, traps are poor and no.MARSHALS. Driving range not bad. Played there today and it looked like they have not even had the grounds crew working the course yet. They are going to want $68 for prime time this spring and summer and we will be going elsewhere. read more

At 2:39 hours to play 9 holes don't go here on a Wednesday night they have leagues and those guys obviously don't know how to play ready golf. The worst part is the staff did not tell us when making the tee time that they had leagues like almost all the other courses in the area do. That way we could have looked elsewhere. Not most the money. No rangers to keep things moving come on let's be more player friendly for what you charge Had 6:08 tee time didn't tee off till 6:20 played last hole in dark. read more

Beautiful Course that was in great condition for the beginning of the season. Value was 10/10 I definitely would come back!

9 hours for 27 holes. Over booked. Told us we could play all three 9s. A week beforehand they say we have to replay one of the 9s. Make the turn after 18 and they tell us we have a 45 minute wait. They blame other outings and a frost delay. Drunk monkeys could run this place better. read more

I am a recovering golfer, and I have yet to play the Tanglewood Golf Course, so this review is for those who are in search of a fantastic club house/reception hall. Tanglewood Golf Course's facilities will meet all of your wedding, shower, outing, reunion, anniversary, or any other special occasion needs. The staff is friendly, helpful, and easy to work with. The food is out of this world, and the chef will work with you to create a special meal for your occasion. I am getting married there in June 2010. I have spent quite a bit of time with the assorted staff and on the grounds. I must say that you will receive big-city accommodations with small-town manners. read more

Ahhh the glorious days of golf are right around the corner, and already I'm daydreaming about being out on Tanglewood. Just my buddies, my clubs, perfectly trimmed greens and fairways, the sounds of nature, the mosquito's, and for some reason I can't stop thinking about Tiger Woods after all the scandal publicity!! When my golf buddies and I head out for the links we are usually drawn to Tanglewood, even though there are about 100 other golf courses in between us. I think its the whole package, perfectly kept greens and fairways, friendly staff, and the golf carts aren't all hoopty. My favorite hole is west 8, it's shaped like the Michigan glove, and has the mini Mackinac bridge to get to the green. It's kinda cool, not to mention I usually par or birdie it so quite naturally I'll like it the most. My philosophy is, if the course is top notch the green fee shouldn't matter. It's $49 for 18 with a cart... hold on, hold on... yeah it's a little pricey but trust me it's worth every penny. They do have spring and fall rates like all the other clubs do, and is priced the same as them. Which means... if your gonna spend the duckets to play, you might as well go to a nice course. The club house is really nice and often times they have some sort of wedding or banquet going on, which tells you how nice it really is. After you have failed to achieve par for the course, take a load off in the Tanglewood restaurant and have some cocktails and some great food. Try one of their burgers or the ribs. We golfed here tonight....were very disappointed. First, there was no quality food. Due to renovations, everything was shut down. The patio had hot dogs, but they were burned to a crisp and disgusting. Next, we golfed...but the greens were a mess. Most were half dried mud. No grass at all on 30-50% of the green surface. There were no rangers. So we had groups skipping around the course, jumping in front of us. One group even had a boombox playing extremely loud. No one did anything about it. The beer cart was good...thanks for that at least. They were everywhere. We've played this course for quite a few years...it's very disappointing to see it managed so poorly. read more

Now I remember why I stopped golfing here...... When you go out to eat, the food and the taste/quality of the food are paramount (65% of experience). But the overall experience includes the wait time, the waiter/waitress (service) and the atmosphere. I fancied a round of golf this morning and as my typical courses had outings, I decided I would try Tanglewood. I hadn't golfed here in about 3 years. I called from home prior to making the drive over, but couldn't get through to or connect with anyone. What......you can't talk to a live person at a golf course? Despite "not knowing" if there were tee times available, I drove over. I called a few more times on the drive over but once again couldn't get through. When I pulled up, there was major construction going on at the course itself but there did not appear to be any outings (promising). The Manager who was clearly on auto-pilot didn't acknowledge the fact that he was not picking up the phone NOR did he apologize. Hmmmmm, I was a bit cheesed off about that fact and debated whether I wanted to support this club with a Manager who just didn't give a rats ass. I decided to focus on the (65% piece, the golf) and proceeded with the $49 investment for the round. The course was pretty torn up with construction and the 30% of the greens still had not recovered from the harsh winter we had and were damaged. The bathroom on the #5 North course was unusable and I walked out of it literally gagging from the raw sewage odor. At the turn I was hoping to get a quick sandwich or hamburger, no hamburger, only hotdogs and the sandwich bun was so stahl that I basically threw the bread away and just ate the turkey and one piece of lettuce. I would summarize this experience with giving the golf course a 5 out of 10 and 1 out of 10 for the Service (deer in headlight Manager, bathroom on course, terrible sandwich) aspect of the trip. I won't be going back anytime soon and I hope the owners of this course take note that they have a person who should be leading but instead is setting the worst example and is losing local residents confidence. read more

Absolutely awful, just took 11 family members to brunch there. We were shoved against a wall with 3/4 of the dining area empty. Service was awful even though it was a brunch and we got our own food, never brought drink refills or the bill, had to get up to ask for everything. They were sure to add their 18% gratutit. y Food was awful. Forks and knifes thrown in a basket to grab from-how clean is that.I would never return and suggest you run as fast as you can to the nearest McDonalds. read more

I am disappointed in this courses treatment to single golfers trying to play a quick morning round. On several occasions I have called the clubhouse to check to see if a single can play and they always have blown me off. I have even had trouble getting on the phone with someone. They do not answer the phone in the proshop. I dont understand why lose the business. Their demeanor is snooty and rude. I dont reccommend this course, they do not know how to treat people. read more

I want to share my disapointing experience with tanglewood golf course banquet center in south lyon. When i arrived to attend a wedding shower the signs indicating the 2 shower events, were for names i did not recognise. I thought i must have written the wrong date in my calender. So from the parking lot i phoned the banquet center. The person in the golf shop tried 4x to switch my call to the banguet center and finally disconnected me. I called back and was told the banquet manager was too busy to take my call, so i left a message. I called again and trying to reach someone to help me figure out if i was at the right place. talked to some other unknown person who knew nothing about a wedding shower for the person i named. A couple hours later the mgr called and when i inquired if they had an upcoming shower booked under the brides name they knew nothing about who the event was for. Wouldn't you think the brides name should be on the sign.? Feeling kind of silly i returned home ,found the invitation and discovered i was at the right place on the right date. I missed an event that was important. I guess i should have been more assertive as the people i called were ill equipped in customer service to take the time to find out how they could really be helpful. To add insult when i called later to talk to the banquet manager she said she was too busy to discuss my suggestion that it would have been helpful to have the brides name on the sign. She was impatient. Poor customer service. read more
