    Scary tunnel to drive through
    Sarah B.

This course was terrible. There were literally no cart paths! Free drop zones posted because the bunkers were so bad. People driving over the tee boxes which were not maintained. A bunch of rookies with no golf etiquette. I gave it more than one star cause it was actually a decent layout for beginner golf.

Good value course for the area. Neat lay out with wooded hazards and a bit of water. Club house staff is very nice

For the $$$ and the condition of the course, I always have a good time playing this course. $28 for 18 holes, all day long.

I have no idea why anyone even plays this course. Staff is clueless and the course is so poorly managed.

The prices are shown on their website and include "senior discounts." This is also the reason (I am sure) that it is a very busy place on a weekday morning. Great staff and location next to a restaurant and a seasonable carnival-like facility that includes mini-golf. Lastly, I believe that the dome is deflated in the warmer months and the tee lines become part of the remaining driving range. (Check out satellite photos on Google earth or maps to see what I mean) My only non-positive comment is that the artificial turf putting "green" in the dome interior has some weird slopes that one would never find on an actual putting green. I found it to make for a difficult and productive practice session with my putter. And, although the place is equipped with the Top-Tracer computer simulation system, I am not sure if it is exactly accurate given the probable issue of being in the interior dome. BUT - it was worth the 1-hour and 45-minute drive for me to go over for the morning given the snow on the ground outside!! Heh, I am retired! What else do I have to do?!?!? *laughter*

AAA Zero Rating…read more Scenes of Chaos + Disorder Tapes preventing your entry or exit are truly bizarre and confusing, leaving cars to head straight for you coming down the wrong sode of the road because the lack of managerial skills here are on display for themselves. I have never seen anything so awkward in my entire life. You are not the only hotel on the planet with a road, but you are the king of chaos. AAA deals with roads. And check oit these roads. The Incompetence on display here speaks for itself. its as if though PUNKED show on MTV was tasked with blocking path of hotel guests walking into and out of the hotel. Blocked. Driving into and out of the property. No guides - no signs - noexplanations. Clearly the staff in charge of this has no idea what rhey are doing, posing a significant liability to the safety of guests. AAA would be wise to know this is not even basic competence. Who is minding the store here ? Who !? Did everyone just walk off their job ? This is the horror show greeting a AAA hotel guest ? AAA Hotel Ratings brining in folks would be wise to take a look at thesw scenes of chaos and disprder with no managerial oversight. All this random tape everywhere is like a mad demented clown were tasked with causing chaos and discomfort to guests. iIt is a chaotic scene reserved for clowns at a 3 rimg circus. Not for a hotel of class and competemce. See a single staff member here guiding you ? No. See any signs saying what is going on pr procidong guidance ? No. None. As if though someone who was fired, deliberately caused chaos, and walked off the job. This is hell on earth. You feel like a mouse in a maze. cant go left. cant go right. cars driving in opposite side the road veering on to you for a head on collission. Astoundingly bizarre and findamentally disappointing. This is mot how you run a hotel. This hotels chaotic scenes are puzzling and unacceptable. Very clearly the management is in need of being replaced. These scenes of chaos add to no ones enjoyment during their stay and serve to discourage any and all future visits. Take a good look. If this clown show is what you want for your special stay. Gross incompetence and managerial deficiencies make St Johns a special place to better avoid.

It's a fun place if you have 90+ mins and want to work on your short irons and putting. People seemed like they were learning or having fun--not a place you feel pressure to be good at. Layout: Lots of water, but pretty easy to clear (#9 was a longer carry from the blue tees); sand traps weren't too threatening (some were out of play). The condos are close on 2-3 holes, so you have to be mindful to not end up in a backyards but I generally didn't see that as an issue. While a cart isn't normally necessary on such a short course, a few holes are far apart, which would make for a long walk if you didn't have one. I brought all of my irons but only used about 5 clubs (7i, 8i, 9i, PW, LW) + putter from the blue tees. If I played the whites, it would be 4 clubs + putter. Tee boxes: About the same quality as the general fairways. Good enough shape overall. The yardage figures did seem off a little (a few holes played ~10-15 yds shorter than indicated--I just played down a club). Greens: A few patchy areas but generally pretty decent. Medium speed; a few breaks and undulations to add a little challenge. Other notes: very nice and accommodating staff; restaurant right at the clubhouse; only $10/round (+$5 for a cart). All the water meant lots of geese and goose droppings, mostly on #1 and #9. Overall, a nice little par 3 that I hope to get back to a couple times/yr since it's near my house. They seem like they take pride in it.

This is our favorite hotel when visiting family in the area. It is a sprawling resort, as the name…read moreimplies, and there are plenty of hallways, wings, and cultivated grounds to explore. Its an ideal destination for an extended stay. As a former seminary built in the 1940's, the architectural flourishes are second to none. Design aficionados will be in aesthetic heaven. There are three restaurants on site - an Irish Pub, a wine Bar, and a Steakhouse with a bar and breakfast service. The wine bar is definitely worth a visit, whereas I recommend the other two options primarily for their convenience. Service is exceptional and the beds are firm but very comfortable, nonetheless. The in-room TV supports casting TV & movie apps - Netflix, Hulu, etc. - but not music apps, for some reason. Fortunately we brought a WiFi speaker. A few notes on accessibility follow. For context, I can walk with crutches but need to use a wheelchair for long distances. And this hotel is all about long distances. We had an accessible king room, and while the lanes for navigating a wheelchair around the bed are tight, they are manageable. The bed is super comfortable but also very TALL. It could be tricky to transfer to the bed from a wheelchair without assistance of crutches. There is plenty of space in the bathroom and the roll in-shower has a good set up with an accessible shelf for shampoo, etc. Be careful with the bathroom door - it is a very heavy sliding door with a strange locking mechanism. The public spaces in the hotel, including the restrooms, are generally modern and accessible. I also noticed that the pool has a swing chair for water access. One exception is the Irish Pub, which treated accessibility as an afterthought when it was designed. There is no wheelchair access within the hotel - you'll want to drive around to the back to use its parking lot. Additionally, to get to the restroom or the second floor of the pub you'll need to use one of smallest prefab dumb waiters I've ever been in. Finally, be advised that the entrance to the hotel is at the top of a steep hill, and the porte-cochère landing itself is at a slant. Be agile with your brakes, and let your companion park the car after you've exited if you can. Also note that there are only 4 designated accessible parking spaces. We've seen them all full on multiple occasions; for a parking lot of its size, the hotel should probably add about 4 more.
