Andrey, who is also the owner with his wife, Victoria, became my instructor. Andrey continuously teaches me everything from the basic steps to more advance spins and moves. I started on June 18th and will be finishing up sometime in mid July before my trip. He makes the scenario comfortable and professional. I realize it's important to be taught by a man, because they understand how to lead. He is extremely patience as I've never danced before. If you plan to learn how to salsa, I advise to take private lessons and record each session so you can practice at home.. this is so you can progress comfortably with each session with Andrey. I highly recommend coming here. The facility is clean, and has several rooms. Everyone is friendly and it's an enjoyable atmosphere. They of course do more than just salsa. You'll be in good hands.

Elite is an excellent dance studio, from day one through their very polished recitals. It's important to note that this is not a cutesy/playtime type of studio. Dance is a discipline, and so dress code and presentation are taken seriously. For first-timers, that might feel a little intimidating, but there's a reason behind it. Hair and makeup need to be spot-on for recitals, because there's always a chance your cute 3 or 4-year-old might get on stage and just stand there! But guess what? They'll look fantastic doing it. And then, year after year, you'll see their confidence and ability grow. As a parent, you will need to stay on top of recital packets to know who/what/where/when, and I find Elite to be very thorough in the material they send out, or if you simply call them ahead of time. Another perk.. they have a professional photographer who takes photos on stage and backstage at shows/recitals for FREE. As well as a videographer, which is very much appreciated. The owner, Toni, taught my oldest years ago and is fantastic, both as a teacher and as a business owner. Neither of my girls have ever been on team, but both have always enjoyed their classes. The teachers are wonderful with age-appropriate instruction (shout out to Miss Princess with the littles) and technique. My 7-year-old only takes one ballet class currently, yet she could not be more excited to be performing in The Nutcracker for her second year in a row. Needless to say, we love Elite!

Coming from such a different place, the intercultural encounter with Nazanin has been such a beautiful gift, she knows how to communicate clearly, how to read the different backgrounds to enable movement and also how to make you engage and connect with the culture. I have read her thesis and also have participated in diverse instances where she taught some Iranian dances. She explains with so much care inviting you to join in an organic way. So, I enrolled my daughter in two lessons per week. Instead of learning proper foundations or techniques, she would spend the first hour doing conditioning exercises, and during the second hour, the theater program kids would join the class. That second hour was mainly used to rehearse choreography for their theater productions. Your child would receive even less attention, especially during the weeks leading up to the opening of a show. I honestly felt scammed. On top of that, the main roles in their theater productions seem to be dominated by the theater director's siblings. In case you don't know, when auditioning for a theater company, the casting directors usually want to hear you sing first, once you pass the singing audition, they want to see how well you can dance and then evaluate your acting last. But that didn't seem to be the case with their theater program. This is why their theater program is not growing! The heart of musical theather is singing. At $400 per month and four months to complete the production, you can find a much more affordable and better production, and most importantly, a FAIR opportunity for every child. I took my daughter out of this school and enrolled her in a different one. I was surprised by how different the approach was at the new school compared to The Grand Academy of Ballet. For my daughter, we were concerned initially that due to her age but inexperience, she would have to learn with kids who were much younger than her (like three years younger than her or even more)... after her hip-hop trial, she was discouraged because she was a lot older than the other kids and yet much more inexperienced. But we expressed that to the studio and they responded so gracefully and found the perfect class for her where there are kids her age, but they are also new-ER to dance as well and my daughter is totally happy and we are loving the classes and teachers thus far. The studio has been so accommodating and very communicative and helpful! The teachers are awesome too, and you can feel the spirit of dance and creativity there. I'm hopeful about our journey there and my daughter's own journey with dance. I think if there's any place that could get her hooked to dance, it's this place.

When we addressed this with the owner she offered no remedy. During the dance recital another parent physically assaulted our child by grabbing her arm and the dance studio did little to nothing to address this and wouldn't even provide concrete info about who assaulted our child. That parent should have been removed from the facility. We will be filing charges. The studio owner was rude and indignant. I would NOT recommend you use this studio unless you want to pay a bunch of money for your child to learn next to nothing and then be charged for used and raggedy clothes (we had to have our daughter wear her outfit from last year from a different studio despite being charged). The staff will speak disrespectfully to your children and make no efforts to address concerns. They also charge $20 a ticket to go to your child's recital and won't let you record because they want you to pay for their recording. I'm disgusted that my child was put in old used clothes, treated horribly by staff, and assaulted at her recital with no action taken. Your child is not safe at this studio. They don't care about the safety and well-being of their students. They only care about getting as much money as they can without providing hardly any actual instruction.
