My doctor is excellent however their billing department needs training. Their practices of locking patients accounts are Inhumane and plain rude.I'm taking an IV medication each month so my insurance gets billed for thousands of $$ ea month that's not the issue. The issue is how they billed my insurance wrongly and while they were going back and forth they locked my account preventing me from getting my IV medication. I paid the disputed amount of 200+ dollars same day I explained how these amount was in dispute for months and just barely got rebilled couple weeks before my appt. the embarrassment and humiliation could not be undone. Now take into consideration that I have been taken this medication for years now never have I defaulted on my copays yet the receptionist felt it was necessary the yell out loud "your account is locked you need go downstairs to patients accounts" we can't see you!! Wow really talk about patient's privacy. I did contact the clinic patient's abócate once I got home. I let them know I skipped my medication for the 1st time due to lack of time. Their billing shenanigans took my designated time for my IV session, frustrated, hurt and disappointed I still hope someone looks into their "locking account" tactics. When I went to this place I was told by my insurance company that the co pay is $25. I get there and of course they tell me $40 for a specialist visit. I argued my point and called back my insurance after I was done. They tell me wait for the billing to go through then call tanner back for a refund check. So I did and it's been 5 weeks waiting for it. Called back again today and they claim 1 more week to get my refund. We will see. Stay clear of this nightmare place. read more

Brett Rawlins office is horrible. Not only was his medical assistant not helpful but she could have put my child's life at risk with her carelessness and outright disregard. After bringing it to the attention of the clinic (because Brett wouldn't talk to us about it) nothing was done. Fast forward to our next appointment I asked if we could not have the same medical assistant at our appointment and Brett Rawlins flat out refused to accommodate our request. I was basically told to find a new doctor. So instead of dealing with a problem they would rather lose patients. We have been going to Brett Rawlins for several years and to Tanner clinic for 30 + years. They not only lost my business but anyone else I can advise against this clinic. read more

East Layton clinic is the best. Main clinic in Layton is overcrowded and has a mix of good care and bad care. Look up the doc before you see them. Although I can't figure out why doctors won't talk on the phone. You can talk with their nurses but can't get to the Dr ever unless it's an appointment. The service is great, I was very impressed with the Orthopedic Doctor. I was seen quickly and the surgery went great. Then comes the bill for services. I have wonderful insurance paid the whole bill. Then I get a bill 95.00$, the first one, then 25.00$ on the next surgery. I called and billing said they were not sure what is was for and they would get back to me. She never did, then I received a pre collection notice. So I called back, I was told that the charge was for filling out my FMLA, and temp disability paper. Really It was three pages and they want 120.00$ for the paperwork. I have never heard of this it is crazy to pay that much to have the doctor sign the paperwork. Let me start off with this. Dr. Michael Yeates at the Kaysville Tanner Clinic is an amazing doctor. He is helpful, kind, caring, and understanding. With that being said, the rest of my experiences with Tanner Clinic has been absolutely terrible. I started out with the Kaysville location as I lived closest to them. I then moved to Roy and they opened up the Tanner Clinic there. I have had nothing but problems with them. Their communication is terrible. I call and leave a message and never get a call back or it's two days later. Trying to get them to do their jobs and take care of insurance preauthorization is a nightmare. I have been trying to get an MRI on my lower back since 02/2015. They won't take the time to get my insurance the information being requested. Then got referred to the pain clinic in Tanner Clinic in Layton. Guess what? Even worse communication than the Roy location. And the pain doctor (not naming people) seems like they care about your pain but... they don't. Having never been to a pain clinic before and not knowing all of the rules and restrictions and stuff that goes along with it, (to the clinic)if there are any issues with your FIRST visit, don't wait until the second visit to discuss it with the patient. The whole reason they are there is because they are in debilitating pain. Needless to say, I have stopped going to Tanner Clinic and have started going to IHC and Utah Pain & Rehab. In the first visit at both places, I could immediately tell the difference and wish I would have made the change sooner. PLEASE, PLEASE AVOID TANNER CLINIC. They don't care about you as a patient, just how much they can squeeze out of you and your insurance. read more

I would give zero stars if possible. I used 2 go 2 Tanner Clinic years ago. 1 doctor, gyro, failed 2 take me off birth control b4 a surgery. This caused me 2 get blood clots & a blood infection! Now I will get them for the rest of my life & have whenever I get an IV hooked up. Also, my wife went there and a gastrointestinal doc gave her a colonoscopy without any anesthetic, he said he didn't believe in it. Even during the procedure the nurse saw her writhing in pain, all he said was; she's fine and cont even though she was in agony & crying. Now it's 2016 and I've been waiting on a call from them to see a neurologist for almost 2 weeks. I called today & they stated; we can't see u. U had a bankruptcy in 2005. We would be happy 2 see u in July 2017 though. I told them how important it is as I'm waiting 4 MRI results & the neurologist 2 go over them with me. I was referred by my reg Dr. They could've called me 2 let me know this, instead of making me wait. I've had a terrible migraine 4 3 mos, and lumps at the base of my skull. They are messing with ppl's lives & don't have empathy or even care!! Shameful place!!! read more

My family loves Tanner Clinic. Tanner clinic is multispecialty so if your Doctor wants you to see a specialist he just sends you down the hall. Need an Xray, MRI, CT scan, dont worry go down the hall and then meet me back here to discuss the results. When my Doctor is out or busy I can see another Doctor with access to m records without filling out more forms or insurance information. read more

I marked one star (lowest option) because there was not the option for negative 5 star rating. The billing department is ridiculous. We have a 820 credit score and were sent to collections for a bill that we were working with both the doctor and hospital to resolve. Patient advocates would not return calls. Communication between departments seems to be non-existent. The locking of accounts is a customer nightmare. Even after the bill was paid our account remained locked. Looking for another provider and rebuild our credit score. read more

We've been going to Tanner Clinic for several years now and we're very happy with the doctors there. Our son sees Dr Eberhard for his pediatric checks and we have been very impressed with his personalized care and attention to our son's needs. Because he was a preemie, we were very concerned with finding a doctor that would help us address all his needs and Dr Eberhard has met and exceeded our expectations. I also see Dr al-Rayess for my diabetic care and he is also a wonderful provider to see. My husband and I have been very happy with the doctors we've seen at Tanner Clinic for our various needs, we'd recommend them to anyone, and already have on several occasions! Very glad to have a great clinic to turn to for our many medical needs. read more

My wife got an virtual appointment scheduled for 3:15pm. She got on 5 minutes before. We finally got the doctor after 45minutes of waiting. It's okay since we can do this in the comfort of our home. The doctor advised for her to be swabbed for Covid19 even though her issue is not about that. They have to follow procedure. Doc said if she get swabbed today then result will be available the next day. So we went 5minutes after talking to the doc. We parked and called the hotline and we're asked to park at the "south parking of the main building". "No specifics!" Just south parking. We called the hotline again and they asked for the color of the car. No one was coming out for my wife. Other cars coming in way later than us were attended to right away. So my wife called again after 1hr and they told us someone will come out for her. Now it has been 1 1/2hrs passed. She called again and they said someone will come out now. 2individuals came out and were saying that they run out of the "rapid test kit". What they have is the ones that you have to wait 5-7 days for the result. We depended on what the doc said on the virtual consultation. So, of course, we will be upset for that and the wait. I said "Did you know how long we have been waiting?". You know what she said? "I did not see your car". Our car is the only red car in the parking lot!! We know, because we were scanning the area because we don't want them to miss us. Unfortunately, we did. Then she said, "well, even if she got swabbed 1 1/2 hr you still will have to wait 5-7 days for the result because the rapid test kit ran out at 11am? Wwwwhhhattt??!!! I told her we were not informed of that and that nurse was just not very friendly. I understand, they have a lot of work and they are tired. "WE WAITED 1 1/2hrs FOR NOTHING!". After waiting for an hour and a half in the waiting room while people who came in after me went in and out (yes I had an appointment and was early) a nurse finally comes out and says "you have the *embarassing medical condition*?" Yeah, thanks for announcing that in the waiting room. Specialist spends about 2 minutes with me, and charges me 140 for something that didn't work (he said it would take a few days to go away, still hasnt months later.) He didnt wash his hands or wear gloves before sticking me and then rubbing his hands on the area surrounding needle stick. Very unprofessional, from the desk to the doctor. This was months ago, I'm just finally reviewing because I'm getting a second copay charge for seeing a so called specialist. read more

LOVE my doctor... giving ONE STAR because the billing is RIDICULOUS! Tanner Clinic says one thing, then insurance says another and it never makes sense. I arrived for an appt and they refused to see me because of a $10 delinquent balance from 3 years ago!!!!!! I was embarrassed and so upset. I paid the $10 for the TB test I had to do for a clinical for College. I asked where the notice or phone call was for this transaction? They had no proof of sending me ANYTHING! The girl on the phone said she would type up a letter today and mail it.... so unprofessional. How was I supposed to know a $10 would randomly appear on my account 3 years later, and would not let me attend my prenatal appt because all patient account people went home (it was 2:30 PM). Tanner Clinic is completely unreasonable when it comes to payments. They will not work with you at all. When I tried to set up a payment plan with them I was told a maximum of 4 payments which put my payment at over $400 / month. I told them I couldn't afford that and I would pay what I could afford. I was making a $60 payment every single month and received a letter in the mail from Tanner Clinic that said my account was being sent to collections. When I called them about it and asked why my account was being sent to collections where I have made a payment every single month the exact response I received was "We're not satisfied with the payments you've been making" I was then informed that if my account was not paid "in full" in 15 days time my account would be sent to collections. read more

I do not remember the provider that helped my infant daughter in Davis hospital, but he was very professional. This group of doctors needs to get together and discuss their billing staff. I have called a dozen times, left message with supervisors and heard nothing. My daughter was born in May 2018, and we finally got a nasty voicemail from the billing staff that we need to pay them, when I called to pay the first woman said a statement was never generated and she is not sure why. I tried to pay her 2x and it said declined on both, yet it appeared as pending in my bank acct. I was told to call back and try again. Called again and tried a different card, declined again. Asked to speak with a supervisor, left a message and never heard anything back. Called 8/29/18 to try again since the supervisor never call me. Gave them the original card and it finally took. Again, this group of doctors should get together to discuss their office/billing staff. They're all putting in money for this, and they need to know what is going on. read more

Dr. Chadd Nielsen was rather cold and abrupt. Scheduling messed up my appt and my two scripts I needed were done incorrectly

A general visit cost is high at a minimum of $161 no matter the reason you go in. The billing department personnel is rude, unprofessional and without commonsense. If you are only going to them because it is close to Layton, I would recommend going to IHC off of the Layton exit. All of Tanner Clinic facilities and equipment are old. They try to cut costs so much, when you have to give a urine sample, they make you pee into a plastic Dixie cup and have you write your name on it with a Sharpie. In my experience, if you have samples that go to an outside lab and have to wait for the results, I would suggest calling the office because they will forget to call you. You will likely have to leave a message because they never answer. Even if you leave a message, you will have to call back because they will not return your call. If you would like the same render of services the Tanner Clinic family doctors can provide, I would suggest walking down the street putting a dollar in a drunken homeless persons cup and ask him what his diagnoses is. You will have the same result and at least you will save some money. All joking aside, they are bad. read more

Ever since my Internal Med doctor moved here, it's been nearly impossible to get med refills, etc. The doctor can only be reached through the MA voice mail (you're supposed to be able to email the doctor, but the MA won't grant authorization). Refills and medical concerns called in must be deleted, because nothing ever comes of your request until you call multiple times. I have had to go to the office and stand in the lobby to get necessary orders that they can't seem to be able to send through. Once such occassion was this week. I left a sick bed to retrieve orders that even another clinic's Director could not get them to fax. So I ended up there, green, weak, and dizzy to hand carry these necessary orders to the IV Clinic. The MA was furious I was there, and I even had to send the order back twice because it was wrong. When it came back wrong again, I just grabbed the receptionist's pen and rewrote the order. The next day I found out the MA took out retaliation on my file, and I was discharged as a patient, never allowed to see my doctor again. This is a doctor I've seen for 13 years who treats my rare condition. Because I hand carried my orders I need to start again with a new physician. All the MA would say to me is that I cannot "just come in here and demand things". I'm happily on the life saving fluid I need, but Tanner Clinic allowed that MA the power of retaliation, and I'm out an excellent physician (Mansfield) by sticking up for myself, and being diligent as a patient to get my orders for the fluid. read more

I am very happy with the providers, their staff and their overall demeanor and friendliness. I regularly see multiple providers at the Tanner Clinic. An issue that I have noticed at every office is that they will never answer the telephone. If you want to make an appointment, no problem, you will speak to an appointment setter who only sets appointments. All doctors offices work through voice mail. I'm lucky with my PCP. I can always expect a call back within 24-36 hours. Everyone else returns calls 48-72 hours later if they call at all. Most of the time I have to leave more than one message. The feeling that I get is that the Tanner Clinic sees the medical world in 2 categories. Call 911 if you have an emergency or make an appointment to see the doctor. There is nothing in between, like a physician forgetting to sign a prescription or neglecting to complete a pre-authorization. Sometimes a patient needs to reach the office by telephone and it is almost impossible to do at this business. read more
