The atmosphere is trendy, modern, cool - with white walls and white furniture, you feel like you're in some sort of prototype BMW dealership. The menu is seasonal and decidedly upscale in presentation. You're not going to break the bank with your order, but the M1 Cafe is a definite step up from the cafeteria options across the street at BMW Welt. At lunchtimes on weekdays, it appears that a lot of the tables are reserved for BMW higher ups in their suits and pantsuits, but if you can snag a table, the food options aren't bad for what is essentially a museum restaurant. A variety of cakes and pastries sit at the far end of the bar as dessert options. Pleasant interior and exterior seating. Solid food. Surprisingly decent prices. The ceiling is decked with tons of small lights and the furniture is simple but cosy. The menu here is relatively small and there are some paninis, breakfast mueslis and cakes. There might be an odd thing or two besides those to eat. They have a good drinks list including homemade drinks and coffee. Everything here is organic and portions are small but tasty. The coffee here is excellent. Stronger than most places and full of flavour. I loved the cappuccino I had here and reminded me of coffee in Sydney or Melbourne. It was intense, tasty and satisfying. What intrigued us the most were the amount of pretzels, pastries, sandwiches, and other baked goods they had on display. They also have a menu with a selection of coffee and tea. Inside is nice and clean. They have a small dining area if you choose to eat inside. We ordered a pretzel stick, two croissants, and a variety of cookies for take out. We simply paid for our items at the counter and were out the door within minutes. The staff were nice and worked efficiently since it can get busy at times. When we were about to leave, we saw a line out the door... so you know this place is pretty popular. Once we got back to our hotel, we were pleasantly surprised how delicious everything tasted. The pretzel stick was perfectly toasted on the outside and soft on the inside. The croissants and cookies were amazing!! We loved everything! I hope we have another chance to stop in again before we leave Munich. I definitely recommend stopping by for a sweet treat or quick meal.

The coffee was also decent and I enjoyed it. Service was polite and friendly and the ladies at the counter were also very friendly. All in all a good experience and I would happily come here again. You wouldn't find it unless you go looking as it's all by itself amongst a bunch of residential buildings. Worth a try.
