During my massage she picked up 2 phone calls, since she brought the business phone into the room with her. I've never had that before. Then I could hear and feel her cell phone vibrate in her pocket a couple of times. She also stepped out of the room a couple of times to speak with new customers walking in. I just thought this was super unprofessional, which is how I know I didn't get a full hour massage because I arrived early and left before the hour. I also don't like places that want you to pay before getting your massage. She swiped my card for payment prior to the massage, and had me complete the tip section.

Aggressive overstretching of right arm led to pinched nerve pain that lasted throughout the massage, and now after the fact, makes it hard to type (voice typing this review), eat food with a fork, or brush my teeth. I use my right arm for everything, and I'm hoping doesn't cause long-term damage. If anyone is reading this, please cross your fingers for me, I need your good energy. Masseuse literally took 2 different phone calls during the middle of my massage session with clients asking to schedule appointment and talked to them about what time to come in. The phone loudly ringing twice feet away from me, and her halting my massage to take it and then restarting, also made it stressful rather than relaxing. She did the same thing 3 other times for 3 text messages, so 5 phone interruptions total. Yes, I said phone interruptions, because those were not the only type of interruptions. Two clients came in during my massage, and she left the massage room to go greet them and talk to them for minutes at a time. All of this obviously reduced my massage time as well. The repeated touching the phone and then touching the client is also an issue for hygiene, given what lurks on the surface of smartphones. I'm constantly complimented on my excellent skin, and after my session here, developed a painful pimple, the first time this has happened in at least 2 decades. Our skin is an important part of our body and health, and wellness services should honor it. During the last 5 minutes of my massage, she literally placed the phone on top of the massage table in between my legs. I wish I were making this up. She finally removed it before toweling the oil off. I believe in tipping service workers, and since the service was terrible I was thinking of leaving a 10% tip, even though it could have caused me harm with the nerve pain in my bicep which is an issue until now, and there were 7 interruptions. I would normally leave 20% for normal/good service, sometimes 25% for great service. Even before I went to pay, while I was drinking water, she said she expected a $20 tip, or $90 total. This would have been a 28.5% tip on the $70 service. I told her I don't think this is an appropriate tip for the level of service, and she got really aggressive. I allowed myself to get bullied into leaving a $15 tip, which at 22% is way more than what the service warranted. I had taken an Uber there, and when I called an Uber it was coming in 6 minutes. I don't think she realized this and opened the door, I said I was waiting for an Uber. She actually tried to insist that I wait outside in the dark at 8:15 pm, saying she had other clients. I don't know what the point of her waiting area with the chairs in the lobby is then. I stood my ground this time and waited until my Uber came 5 minutes later. I cannot in good conscience recommend this place to anyone. And as Arthur Brooks said, never waste your suffering, so am sharing my experience so others can avoid it. Having discovered many amazing massage spots in Denver, some that feel life-changing, and associating this area with excellent wellness offerings, I feel there is no reason to ever have to consider a place that is not of that caliber, let alone one that could cause harm. Massage should be therapeutic, not stressful, and a way to thank our amazing bodies, not hurt them.

However, my friend next to me was never asked. The guy was really rough and she said multiple times to go softer because he was really hurting her. Her body language also was showing how painful it was. My lady even had to stop and tell him to go lighter and asked my friend if she was ok. He never went softer. She almost told him to just stop the massage all together. What really got me was after the massage I tipped my lady as I was satisfied. My friend did not tip because she was extremely dissatisfied. Despite federal law (CARD Act) requiring gift certificates to be valid for at least 5 years, these had a printed 6-month expiration. When I explained the federal law requirement to the owner over speakerphone, he became belligerent and stated directly: "I don't care what the law states, they are expired." He then admitted he's issued "lots of gift certificates" that have expired and refuses to honor any of them. Even after the front desk employee confirmed she personally issued these certificates, the owner refused to honor them or make any exception. I'm deeply disappointed. This isn't just about poor customer service - this is a business owner openly admitting he doesn't care about federal consumer protection laws. I'm filing a complaint with the Colorado Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division. Warning to others: If you've purchased gift certificates from this business, they may refuse to honor them regardless of what the law requires. Spend your money at businesses that respect both their customers and the law.
