I visited Dr. MacDonald to check a very slight discomfort above my toe and he gave me an injection…read moreand proceeded to clip my toenails right after. 2 things occurred as a result of this visit. Firstly, the slight discomfort on the top of my foot became very painful 24/7 and spread through to end of my toe which had not hurt at all before. When he had clipped my toenails, he angled the clipper in instead of straight across and caused a very painful ingrown toenail. I revisited him and his solution was to cut off edge of my nail vertically. He never noted in doctor's notes that this had happened. I went to a different Podiatrist and he did MRI for the pain and the injection had caused trauma to the area, which has not dissipated after many months. He put me on an antibiotic for the ingrown toenail which was infected. It took a very long time for it to heal. Then to add insult to injury, Dr. MacDonald sent me a bill over and above my insurance allowance and I called the office and told them I would not be paying it and gave them the reason ... I was told they would stop sending the bill, but I am still receiving it and when I called again, they said Dr. MacDonald refused to stop sending it. Bad enough to be mistreated by him, but he didn't even own up to what he did and in addition wants to charge me for my pain and suffering! Beware.

First I was…read moreinformed that my insurance doesn't cover new orthotics although after the fact I called my insurance company and they confirmed I have coverage and even had past receipts of them covering my previous orthotics from this same place. Secondly, since I thought I wasn't covered I instead was encouraged to get my orthotics refurbished. When I was at the front desk, card in hand, ready the pay, the two ladies at the front desk were unsure if I needed to pay before I left. One lady said I can wait while she asks the doctor and I said I was fine with waiting. The other lady with blonde hair said it doesn't matter and that in the end I'm going to have to pay anyway and said I can just leave so I did. They also had my wrong number on file, and after multiple times they were given the right number, once while I was there and other times over the phone, they didn't update it. Weeks later I get a call from the wrong phone number that my orthotics have not been sent out for refurbishment because I didn't pay, meanwhile the front desk lady told me to leave! They then insist that they would never tell me to leave without paying, completely denying what actually happened, and taking no responsibility for anything.
