For the past year I have been lugging beer cases to the office every week for our Friday Happy Hour. Who doesn't love a place with a K9 mascot? Tap That carries so many local beers. Many of the breweries they support are on posters on the walls. They have a few TV's in there so you don't have to miss the games. Their hi top tables are made out of barrels, I think they're pretty cool looking. We went in on Saturday afternoon and they had someone making these delicious smelling sandwiches. Pulled pork or a grilled chicken with some spicy additives. I wanted one pretty bad, but the girl wanted to save her appetite for later, so I abstained. read more

My home away from home! Seriously this place rocks! Kelly and Travis (the owners) are so welcoming. The beer on tap is always top notch. Plus their pup Ziggy is my best friend. They don't serve food but will gladly let you pick up food to eat there or order in! And on Fridays they have food trucks! My wife and I have only lived in Oceanside for about a year and a half now. I am so glad to see so many great things up and coming in Oside. What is even better, is when they are down the street from my house and not only in downtown. Bar? No need. Instead I would rather head to Tap that, drink a fantastic rotating selection of local craft brews on tap for good solid prices. I would say the thing that I love the most about this place (besides the fact that it is walking distance from my house) is that the owners (Travis and Kelly) as well as the crowd, are super chill cool people who love beer. I have been in some craft beer bars before where you feel like a complete outsider, or not cool enough. This place is very far from that, very neighborhood feel. Used the contact form on their website to get the ball rolling. Kelly called me the very next day. A few emails back and forth to handle the paperwork and we were all set for a 10:00am Saturday delivery of two kegs and double jockey box. At 9:58am on Saturday everything we ordered arrived, was set up and cold beer in hand within fifteen minutes. If you're entertaining and want serve your guests the right way - no group of idiots standing around a keg abusing the pump and foaming the beer - then the ONLY way to go is Tap That. I was looking for someone to provide local craft beer for our annual corporate picnic, and stumbled on Tap That's website. I am so glad I did because they were phenomenal! I love beer, but had never ordered kegs for an event before, and Travis was able to help me determine the right quantity and provide great brew recommendations to accommodate every taste. The rental process was simple, and they were professional and friendly throughout the process. Tap That has a great selection of microbrews at different price points to fit any budget. Travis arrived at the venue on time and set everything up within a matter of minutes. The beer was cold and fresh for the entire event, and everything could not have gone more smoothly. Alright, about time for an update! So a few months ago (14 to be exact) I reviewed Tap That and it took me a little while to update the review, should have done it a while back but here it is... So I had a couple reservations last time I reviewed this establishment, glassware and pricing for the beer. Since the time of the last review Tap That has vastly improved on those concerns. Glassware is very much available in different sizes for the proper pours, 4 oz tasters, 10 oz tulips for higher alcohol beers and English looking pint glass for "regular" (read awesome) beers. Beer is properly priced and there are specials including a "kill the keg" special on Sunday. Most days there are specials except Friday and Saturday as most bars and restaurants. In addition to proper glassware and pricing, Tap That increased the amount of taps since my last review. Twenty taps are now available and there will certainly be something you like, including IPAs. Well priced bottles remain available for on/off premise consumption so if you can't stop for a pint you can take home something awesome! Place is a top place whenever I am in Oceanside for a pint, go have one or five! read more

Have you ever felt overwhelmed by the sheer amount of amazing craft breweries in the North County San Diego area? Ever thought "I'd love to try some beer from a dozen places all in the same day, but how will I ever accomplish such a feat?" Thanks to Tap That, your dream can come true! Tap That sells bottles, and offers a keg service. But I'm a fan of their tasting room -- they have 20 or so taps, which frequently rotate, and all of which are from local craft brewers. The staff is friendly and laid back, and you can bring your own food. They often run specials (like "Kill the Keg" Sundays with $3 pints of certain beers); check their Facebook page for current events. Another reviewer notes the list tends to be heavy on IPAs; this is true, and I think the list is representative of what San Diego area breweries are making (as in, mostly IPAs!) 4 oz tasters are $2 - $3; pints are $5 or $6, and if I recall correctly, they also sell half pints. There's a good size parking lot, and tons of street parking if the lot ever fills. Tap That is one of my favorite places in Oceanside. Variety is the spice of life! This is my weekly go-to watering hole with my workmates on Tuesday nights. Great ever-changing selection of local beers on tap and in bottles, fantastic and friendly customer service from Travis and Kelly, and the always adorable resident Bulldog Ziggy keep me coming back. The beer selection is evenly varied and there is usually a style available for every interest. A laid back atmosphere with friendly, talkative customers makes it a cozy hideaway for people who enjoy craft beers but don't dig the bar scene. I'm not a sports fan, but there are plenty of TVs for people who want to enjoy a game. Overall, a great place to hang, chat, and try beers from the various local breweries without having to travel each one. Come in for a few pints and leave with a bottle of something new! Not exactly what I expected..... Solid beer bottle choices. The taps rotate with local breweries and when the have the "finish the keg specials" you literally can't beat it with $3 beers. If you're hungry bring your own food unless it's a food truck night. They typically have microwaved pizza and bags of chips for sale. Extremely dog friendly too.... read more

Great experience renting kegs/jockey boxes from Tap That for my wedding. The owners were so nice and accommodating for my big day. My wife and I had a self served keg wall that was built for us and Travis (the owner) was so knowledgeable about what we needed to get the best beer possible for our guests. What a fantastic place across the 76 HWY from the Oceanside airport. Cheap draft beer, and a good variety of it too. Even more choices available in bottles to take home. Friendly beertender, and free tasters to make sure you get something you like. They also supply kegs and equipment for any of your beer dispensing needs, but I was there to drink. Two single person unisex bathrooms, hardwood floors, wooden barrels and bar stools scattered wherever you need them to be. The bar itself is immaculately clean and organized with the proper glassware for different beer styles. Very "warehouse casual" feel. Al in all, another great place I've found in Oceanside to drink great beer and meet good people. I'll be back for sure. read more

Love this place. They always have some special going on. Today (and every Sunday) the beers with a blue star are the kegs they're trying to close out, so pints are only $3. Today they are closing out two Karl Strauss brews, Tower 10 and Amber Ale. $3/pint is a steal for KS. There's always some good deal to be had here, though. Other days they spin this wheel to determine the special. Could be $1 tasters or $3 for any pint! Those are the best specials for sure. Just love this place. There are only a couple of bartenders that work here and they're always nice. What a life saver. This thing is awesome and it looks like Travis may be able to fix our home tap which is very good news. This place is everything you want in a tap room. Great owners, Cute dog and not a bunch of douches hanging around in their tight t-shirts talking about how much they lifted. You show, your greeted (by a Kelly-hug thank you) and you get an honest assessment of what beer it great/good/or OK. I have swayed at least 8 friends away from the other brewery's/tap rooms to here. I rented several jockey boxes from Tap That for a recent event. Travis was very helpful over the phone and happily catered the order just to my liking. Tap That's jockey box rental prices were WAY cheaper than all of the other quotes I received, and they had plenty of equipment in stock. However, the equipment they gave me was pretty beat up, and one of the beer lines had a serious leak, rendering one of the taps unusable. All in all, I was happy with what I got for the price.
