My husband found this place and was interested because of the live music and it being a jazz place. We ubered there which seemed smart because it's street parking and seemed quite limited. There's a $5 cover on Fridays and Saturdays (I think they have live music both days) and we did not have a reservation. I think if you have a reservation you can get a table in their back area. We were up front with the band. It's a pretty small place, maybe about 5 or 6 high top tables in the front, the bar toward the back, and that back room which we didn't look in. We cozied up until someone left a high top and then hung out there. We ordered some drinks that were specials for the night and some that were regularly on the menu. We had a great time! Drinks were good, I think also reasonably priced. Music went from 7pm to 10pm and we got there around 7:30 and it was good and busy! This definitely feels like a family joint, their mascot is their little chihuahua Wishbone and I love that so much. Owners were fun, kept things going while the band was on break, just overall a really good time. I'm not much of a drinker so I can't speak to the types of liquor, but I definitely was feeling my drinks and couldn't finish my 3rd. If we lived here I think this would become a regular spot for us. What a fun time!

That said, I was a little disappointed to find out that even with a reserved table, there's a $30 minimum if you want to stay for the jazz, and a $25 minimum for the comedy. I understand businesses have minimums, but personally, I prefer places where I can come in, relax, listen to the music, and decide what I want to spend without feeling pressured--especially when I'm experiencing a band or comedian for the first time and don't know what to expect. The waitress was okay, although there were a few assumptions made during my visit that I didn't feel were appropriate. I'm glad I checked it out and experienced it for myself. It just probably isn't somewhere I'll return to. I'm looking for more of a laid-back, come-as-you-are kind of spot where I can enjoy the entertainment without feeling obligated to meet a spending minimum. Nothing ventured, nothing gained! At least now I know.

I wouldn't call this place a great dinner spot, not because of the food but because of the atmosphere. Even though we enjoyed all our food, my husband was in a bit of hurry to get out of here because he was really uncomfortable with the seating. The seating is more like patio-style furniture, so the chairs are very low. Since he is on the taller side, his legs were all bunched up the whole time. We had made reservations, but we didn't know that booking "Standard" meant that we were going to be sitting in the hotel pool area... this was probably our biggest complaint. Even though the view was spectacular, it was interrupted by kids jumping in the pool and occasionally splashing us and also just running by us. Also because we were by the pool, our cocktails came in plastic glasses which also made us feel a little slighted, especially since the cocktails are pretty pricey. The service was just okay. Our server was nice and we didn't ever feel like we were being neglected even though we were over by the pool and not in the main area. I just feel there wasn't anything remarkable about the service. I think when you are expecting to pay higher prices for an experience, you want more personable servers. All this to say, we were really happy with all the food we had! We had the 1/2 dozen oysters (my only complaint is that they did not disclose where they were from on the menu so you don't really know what you are paying for and it is pricey), the sea bass ceviche (super yummy!), the lamb, and the prawn special. I did not shut up about how yummy the prawns were all night, even after we left! Anyway, I think I would come back for drinks and maybe a dish or two, but we definitely won't be coming back for date night dinner again.

Upon entrance, it is beyond cramped and chaotic (where are capacity enforcements, and that's just near the front half of the venue on the 6th floor. I had no clue this area was also used for hotel guests at the Mission Pacific, with ZERO dress code. You can come in flip-flops and a wife beater. There were kids, infants, some literally looked like mothers gave birth and then brought them from the hospital straight here like, WTF are these people thinking??? Ok, hotel priority, should've fact-checked that's on me, but it's just disgusting looking at the crowd here, absolutely abysmal. It makes Wal-Mart look like Rodeo Drive. I didnt see this awful of an assembly of people staying at Motel 6's. After our reservation was confirmed, we were led to a private area through a weighted gate door, I said good, away from the chaos. Instead, we were put in even more of a hellfire right in front of the pool which was littered with screaming, splashing kids left right up and down. Our seating areas were wet (see pics for proof) and my wife got her pants soaked by the time she realized it, I had to put a pillow underneath to avoid sitting on a soaked couch. Insanely traumatizing and epic fail+disaster. We ordered drinks they came 1 hour, yes 1 HOUR after our meals arrived, they took 50% off the drinks bill, when they should've (and really the whole bill) waived without question. Why??? Read on I'm just warming up. I must say, Kylie our server was extremely apologetic and super nice, which rendered the full tip amount, but she couldnt salvage this tragedy. They REALLY need to separate outside visitor dining reservations from hotel crowd, its ridiculous. There was a woman who bent over right in front of my mom, ass cheeks fully exposed, and changed bathing suits right in front of her so close that if my mom turned to the left, her nose would've been in her asshole. This is happening at 8pm. The food: Grilled Artichoke B+ Tuna Tartare F-, returned and refunded, disgusting Coulotte steak slices F-, Each family member took 1 slice and attempted to chew, every one of us spit out; unchewable sinew and gristle, $50 buck complete waste. Vadouvan Chicken Sando= A, shockingly delish and perfect. Marinated Seas Bass=A...like a ceviche super fresh. So in all, the service gets a star not for the delay of drinks but Kylie's compassion and demeanor and engagement with us, the food is all over the place but a 2* combined, and taking one star off for the insanely chaotic shit show a breath in front of us, the wet seats, and cherry on top, the bullshit 6% "service" charge tacked on. I will be having nightmares for a few weeks, if not months, to get this outta my system.

We were looking for a chill place to hang out that was away from all the busyness of downtown. Oceanside Brewing was the perfect place spot being located within a business district. The customer service was super friendly and they made us feel right at home. We spend our evening playing board games while drinking some good beer. It was so much fun and relaxing. This is one of Oceanside's oldest breweries. They keep to the old ways of making craft beer but still bring out more current flavors. They have over 20 beers on tap and a nice variety to choose from. This place is dog friendly and I enjoyed getting the chance to pet everyone's dog. Such a great find!

I have never heard of this brewery, although I don't get up to Oceanside very often, but it's definitely a place I wouldn't mind coming back to again. It's located just South of the 76 off a quiet little street and is a relatively small place, but all the beers I tried tasted great and the owner Tomas seems like a very personable guy who takes pride in his business. I don't recall offhand how many beers they have on tap, but I want to say it was at least 18 or 20 beers. They also have recommended mixed beers too. For instance, Tomas mixed one of their IPA's with one of their orange flavored beers and it was pretty good. The ambiance here is nice and I could see it being a place to take a date, or for group settings like we were in on Saturday. It seems like they have a following of regular patrons too which I always like to see at bars and breweries. All in all a great place with a genuinely nice owner who takes pride in his business and what he does. Would recommend and hope to make it up here again sometime.

Great flavor and so smooth. Food was really great - our table ordered the Buffalo chicken dip (huge portion of chips and the dip was delicious) for an appetizer- I think it arrived in three minutes. Carne asada tacos, fries and farmhouse salad with chicken and the beef sandwich were all super tasty. We had to try a dessert and it was hard to pick just one as they all sounded so good - landed on the apple crisp and it was perfect and the best warm caramel sauce. Food is fresh, good quality and everything was great. Service for drinks was the fastest I've ever encountered in any restaurant- seriously! For as large as this place is, they have it running like a machine with food runners and wait staff choreographed perfectly. It's also a neat atmosphere, lots of tables, full bar and good vibe. We enjoyed our meal and overall experience. Highly recommend.
