I went into this local liquor store not far from my to grab a sprite for my daughter and maybe grab some beers for me. I walked in and they have a cigar room that looked stacked with a wide variety in it and the place was packed with all kinds of alcohol instead of th usual snacks and the items which I like. Walking in the guy behind the counter wasn't interested any small talk which, again, I can live with. We found some Mexican soda which was overpriced but fine. I checked out the beer selection and they had a large variety of Burgeon Beer which I was excited about. Here is where it went south. I took it all up to the counter and the rude man rang it up to the tune of $55. I asked how in the world it could be that much and he showed my the price tags, which I missed on the beers, $18.99 and $21.99 for 4 packs of beer! These are overpriced at $15/ 4 pack and these guys took it to the next level. Again, overpriced and rude but it's beautiful day and I paid and took my stuff. But don't worry, when I got home and I took it out of the bag the beers cans were dusty, maybe even dirty, and I checked the cans then their canned dates were almost a year ago! So... nice selection, terrible service, predatory pricing and an inferior product. I cannot warn you enough about this stain of a store on our small town of South O. 1 Star and that's being generous. read more

Wag's Liquor store is located in South Oceanside ... where the people who want to feel like local osider's go. We have been going to wags for wine & beer for years. The prices are competitive. Alex is super friendly and his demeanor is definitely a reason Wags is popular. Over the years they have placed special orders for my husband and Alex has given us an occasional purchase suggestion that is always on point. Parking is abundant. I don't know anything about cigars but they appear to have an amazing selection. I don't see many businesses offering Cigars which makes Wags so unique. They have a small to moderate amount of snacks & candy but they are a liquor store not a convenience snack shop so this is understandable. So no points off for this. All in all a great neighborhood liquor store that offers a great variety of wine and beer at varied price points to accommodate everyones budget. read more

So I had never been here before. The usual spots i get my disposable vapes at are all closed. Had to pay more than double (12.99+ tax) for a single puff bar. Drove home, opened it. It does not work. I called the shop and they said there is nothing they can do. All sales final. So $14 for nothing. Selling items that dont work, and cant even exchange for one that works. Won't be returning.... I love Wag's. LOVE. I never knew you could love a liquor store quite so much. It's located about a block from my friend's old place, so we would stumble over there regularly for PBR or Oly and smokes. Alex knew us all by name, and would not only have our cigarettes on the counter by the time we got there, but he would pack them for us too. What a gentleman! When I'm up in O'side and I need something, I pass 7-11 and numerous liquor stores just to get to Wag's. I'm usually up there with friends and one of them happens to be a cigar aficionado. I can kill 2 birds with one stone because they have a large selection of liquor and an even bigger selection of cigars. PLUS, they have flints and fluid for Zippo lighters. Do you have any idea how hard it is to find flints & fluid? Buy a Zippo and you'll see. Here's why, besides the great selection and outstanding customer service, they get 5*s. I wasn't aware that your credit card purchases had to be $5 or more. I understand that rule beause the merchant pays for each credit card transaction, no matter how small. I don't carry cash and I forgot to get flints. They were only a dollar but even the change in my car wasn't enough. I wish I could remember his name....it's right on the tip of my tongue....ugh, I hate it when I forget.....let's just call him Wag. Wag tells me that he always remembers me and to pay him the next time I'm in the store. Granted, it was about a month until I was up there again but I hate bad karma so I went into the store and gave him a dollar and some change. That's just a great way to run a business. Alex is awesome but the other guy that works there is a complete rude asshole. We spend quite a bit of money in there every week and he's very rude to my husband. My husbands always very nice to him and try's to make small talk and the clerk says shut the hell up or leave. Don't work in customer service if you can't be polite to customers. I could never imagine speaking to anyone that way. read more

I have lived in Oceanside for over 25 years, Wags.....I used to come here often, while most of the guys that work here are nice and friendly, ie. Alex, the owner or the one who acts like the owner is a complete DICK. When I see that he is working, I give a big sigh, and dread dealing with this guy, he is totally rude and always acts like a prick and for this I will not spend my money in this place. Sure, there is a decent selection of Craft beers and a little cigar humidor, however, they don't carry any decent snacks for when the munchies hit. I'm sure all of these 5 stars are for Alex, when he's there the service is great, but, let's face it, one man does not make a store.... read more

I stopped in for a cigar or two and found one in particular that is enjoyable as one of the Cubans I found in a small shop last spring in Paris. I guess the owner was not around as the person on duty let me know that he had never even looked at what was in the humidor. I spent 15 minutes and came up with a Padron Maduro 2000 flavors are wonderful. Later I saw reviews and vids on this choice on YouTube Earthy with chocolate, coffee, and pepper undertones.
