I don't usually find myself in Oceanside, but I stopped into Big Liquor on a whim--and I'm really glad I did. Right away, I was impressed by the personal touch from the owner, who clearly takes pride in the place and knows his stuff. They've got a fantastic craft beer selection and prices that are more than fair. As luck would have it, I came in on the right day--Busch Light Apple had just landed, which only comes around every few years. Total score. I also grabbed some snacks and a few other essentials for our adventure that day. The whole experience was quick, easy, and friendly. I believe in lasting relationships, as does Sam and the great folks at Big Liquor right out the back gate of Camp Pendleton. I could shop tax free on the base, but I assure you I would have never found this fine collection, nor the great customer service exists to find deals like this! If you are familiar with the Boss Hog collection, this is THE cats meow! Sam, his son, and his "whole team" are terrific! They treat everyone with a smile, and phenomenal service!! They are all affluent in "many" languages; and I've even seen them pay their customers' bills who forgot their wallets or were short of the total. No photocopy of your credit card, just an agreement to see you tomorrow. Truly TOP Shelf, and I cannot recommend them highly enough!!! I have a very large collection of great Scotches, Ryes, Burbons and Tequilas, but this is to highlight the Boss Hog collection. Museum prices! Great selection, but prices 2-3x MSRP or more! They advertise items available on Drizly for half the price in the store and when asked about it they replied they deny Drizly orders. I just wanna say I just bought liquor from here thinking the guy was nice and once I got rung up by the other man I noticed my tequila was $24 and then when I looked again after the manual input it then said the price was $35 after tax. I thought it was a bit weird and I looked it up and it was $24 everywhere and they up charged me. Not only that why would you scratch my price tag off on the top. Used to love it here. Now, they've gone downhill. They have their open hours posted until midnight, but I've tried to go there at like 8 or 9 pm sometimes and they'll be closed already! Their prices have gone up insanely in the last few months, and they have this manager working there now (his name is Max, supposedly) and he is the most disrespectful, unprofessional worker. He straight up refused to cash a check for me (even though they offer check cashing according to their sign/website) because it's his "policy" that he won't cash a check I had already signed prior to arriving to try to save time. Mind you, THE CHECK WAS WRITTEN TO ME. Don't advertise a certain service and then make up these "policies" just because you're too lazy to do your job. He laughed and told me I shouldn't be so stupid. Well, the joke's on him... he's the stupid one because that store has now lost a longtime, loyal customer. Shady people. read more

This place had started an order thru Uber eats for me. It was long past the estimated time for delivery, so checked the app and they were closed. I canceled my order when I saw that. Uber/this place still charged me over $100 because they said this place 'started my order'. Uber won't do anything as far as a refund goes. They have decided to price these small bottles as the main large bottles crazy! I just purchased this at big liquor it is some coffee creamer, I had asked the man at the register to read me the date of expiration,and first he stated it was April then he said June... we'll let me tell you folks I purchased this just 2 hours ago on today's date (03/17/18) and the coffee creamer is almost 2 months past code date 3.19$ for 2 month old VERY smelly coffee creamer. This place needs to be shut down due to their dishonesty it looks like a lot of people get "over charged" by these freaks... make sure you check your dates guys!!!!!! read more

This place has been here for years and the owners are the no-nonsense type of guys. They are nice but I know for a fact that they have Doberman pinchers and also own a few handguns. Someone already tried to rob them but it didn't end well for the robber. This place is not in the best of areas so keep that in mind when you're here. This isn't a fancy liquor store so just get what you want and leave! read more

If I could give them zero stars; I could. The general manager yelled at me when I parked because he assumed I wasn't a customer. They didn't say anything when two white consumers parked in front, but yelled at me when I parked with my friend who is Hispanic. I was made to feel very uncomfortable and the 7/11 next door is far superior in both selection and customer service. read more

BIIIIIGGGG Liquor. The closest place to my house to buy some freakin booze. Fortunately I kindof love this place. It's a little scary on the outside but the guys that work here are surprisingly really friendly. For some reason they always give my roommate free gifts... maybe it's because we buy so much damn booze here?? Not sure. Anyway, this place has pretty much everything for a great price. Feelin a little lushy? They have jugs of wine a'plenty! Wanna get your fiesta on? Try their many varieties of Tequila. Want something sweet? Check out the 'red swedish fish' flavored vodka. The list goes on and on. Not only does BIIIGGG Liquor have booze.. they also have hookah! (yay!) We bought a hookah last night and it was only $20! Chargers fan?? Well, they have Jerseys! Watch out, these people are thieves, I moved over here recently and this store was close by, every time I go they charge me a different price for my cigarettes, the only honest guy is a guy that works sometimes in the afternoon he charges $9.15 every time, the other guys always charge me a different price everyday of at least $9.75 or more. It's not much and I would give it to them if they asked, but it still leaves you feeling like they think your stupid, so i go to shell gas station now, a little further, but at least they are honest. Ive gone here quite often to buy beer. They never have price tags on their beer and when I get rung up the cashier always has to ask another guy how much to charge. I have bought many of the same items and always had a different price. I was getting overcharged anywhere from 3 to 8 dollars. Very dishonest place, DO NOT waste your money here. read more

This two Mexican workers that are supposed to be in charge of this place at night over charged me $55 dollars on a 6-pack and two tall cans! I got home check the receipt and woow! I had to drive back to the store. I'm a regularly costumer and they couldn't do anything about it. They told me to take more time out of my day to go back the next day! Always helpful service with a a great selection of beverages. The hours are solid hours and the service always is quick and friendly.
