UPDATE; Laura the owner was great and shared so kitchen tips. I had a great conversation with the Brewmaster, Maron, really liked his Porter. Out second and third visit we had Ailyn, so pleasant, so friendly. We really enjoyed her. Chic vibe. Great tapas. Great wine. Bacon wrapped dates stuffed with cheese were a hit! Only suggestion would be to have a couple dessert options since not everyone likes dates. However my daughter didn't complain as she devoured the homemade cheesecake! read more

After 8 visits to RP I finally convinced our group to give Tapeo a shot. It's within walking distance of the Sonoran Sky resort that we always stay at, after our meal the group confirmed that it's one of the top restaurants in RP. Adrielle our server was friendly and his knowledge of Spanish and Mexican wines was top notch. He even convinced the "Wanna Be Som Snob" in the group that there actually are some excellent Mexican wines out there from the Tijuana/Ensenada/Guadalupe region. The tapas were amazing with the Octopus and Carpaccio dishes the group favorites. Our new #1 goto we're looking forward to our next trip! read more

It's was our best night out on our most recent trip to Rocky Point. We had a very young serve but Eileen did an excellent job. When she wasn't sure of an answer she went and found out. Our new friends we met on vacation in Puerto Penasco recommended that we visit Tapeo Wine Bar. It did not disappoint! We tried the fried cheese with herbs and tasty bread was so delicious with the wine we selected. Also, the pizzette was tasty and we chose an Argentinian sausage tapa with peppers and onions. Really perfect with red wine! The service was great and the atmosphere was causal, but attentive and knowledgeable. A must visit for tasty bites and a wide selection of wines!! read more

This place is definitely my new favorite in Puerto Penasco. We went there on a search for looking for decent beer and found this amazing restaurant. To start with the house brewed IPA is fantastic. The wine list is exceptional, all from the Valle de Guadalupe so if you have never experienced Mexican wine you are in for a treat. And then there is the food. Lots of unique dishes inspired with a Mexican/Mediterranean theme. Full of flavor and creativity. They have live music. We went with the family that would be a great place for a date night also. The service was also wonderful and I need to give a shout out to Eduardo our waiter gave us great service. Highly recommended. read more

We found this place while visiting Rocky Point. A must try if you like delicious food, especially great vegetarian options and homemade pizzas. It's difficult to find great wines in Mexico, but this place had tons of great options at good prices. Live music on the weekends. We will definitely be back next time we are in town! read more

This is a good wine bar in Puerto Peñasco, probably one of a handful of places that have a good wine selection. We had the cheese board, the fried cheese, the stuffed mushrooms and the octopus. The cheese board is good, I only wish they had more soft cheese offerings (there is only one). I am a bread snob and the bread they offer, I was not very impressed. The service, however is awesome and they did everything to try to accommodate us. The octopus and the sauce was very tasty. The mushrooms were also very good. The fried crusted cheese was large chunk of cheese that was crusted with herbs and bread crumbs, then fried. It did not taste like the typical fried mozzarella cheese that is found in the US and I was pleasantly surprised about that. I also ordered the stuffed dates but then cancelled when I found out that those are fried, not baked. They are only open on the weekends, Thursday through Sunday 5-9ish depending on the number of customers. read more

El Tapeo offers a cozy atmosphere, great young staff and some of the best tapas dishes you'd never expect, but be pleasantly surprised to find at a very reasonable price. The marinated olives, deliciously sautéed mushrooms or tender marinated octopus plates are so very tasty, but by far, it's their wonderful multitude of cheeses and Italian ham charcuterie generously boarded with home baked bread and dipping sauces that take you over- but there's much more! Try their deliciously seasoned clams and wines by the bottle or glass, the best selection in the city. This is such a cute place to dine! We came with a large group and were seated immediately with bread and water. The waiter was incredibly attentive and kept our waters and bread basket full all night without us asking once! We chose to share several plates since its tapas, and I ordered the meat and cheese board, octopus, and steamed clams. The clams were fresh, salty, buttery, and piled high! They were the absolute best clams I've ever had by far! And the meat and cheese board consisted of local products that everyone loved. Expertly paired with Fig jam, apricot preserves, green apples and grapes, this was beautifully crafted and presented! This was my favorite dish by far. The octopus was well prepared, but the flavors did not suit my palate. Others in my group enjoyed it, it just wasn't for me. My boyfriend ordered the salmon and it was also especially delicious and fresh!! The chicken roll is amazing as well! Everything that we ordered was delicious, you literally cannot go wrong!
